Zen is located inside the Great Wall shopping mall. It's a bit noisy but fine once the doors are closed. It's a very small shop. I used a Groupon for this head spa service. It was a great deal. I've been to several head spa around Seattle proper. I bought two so my oldest daughter can try them as well. Gal who did my head spa was fine. Only negative I had was their shampoos had coconut. I told them I'm allergic to coconut. So owner had to go purchase shampoo without coconut. Then Charges me an extra 10.00 just because she had to purchase non coconut shampoo and conditioner. I think like all the other places I've been to they should be prepared. All in all it was fine, not one of the top places like I've been to, but adequate for the price. Plus it was clean when I visited. It was nice to have the food places all around to get food because I was hungry right after my head spa treatment. read more

Horrible experience. My wife surprised me with a head spa treatment. This was my first time so I didn't know what to expect however I can guarantee this was the worst experience. First when we got there, no one acknowledged us arriving for our appointment. Finally we got her attention. She brought me to the room, proceeded to clank everything around as if she was not prepared for the appointment. Someone else came in with an appointment as well so she had to call another employee to come in? Well that call was placed on speaker phone, next to my head, during the treatment. This was like a 10 minute, very loud conversation in my ear. The water smelled like fish, steamy fish the whole treatment. The bed was piping hot. I have no clue what she did to me as far as services. Wet hair and face? I wanted so badly to get up and leave. I stuck it out. She then blow dried my hair very sloppily. Offered a red solo cup of water out of a dirty gallon jug. We left after giving them the Groupon info. When we walked out we were chased down and a tip was demanded. Tips are NOT REQUIRED AND ARE BASED ON THE SERVICE RECEIVED. THIS WAS BY NO MEANS TIP WORTHY AND TO BE CHASED DOWN WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. The service was paid for and that's all I owed. This place needs to close down. They are giving the head spa industry a very bad reputation. Deserves ZERO stars. Are these places regulated by the state board?! If so they need to be paid a visit. I got the signature scalp massage, facial, and back massage (somehow for only $100). It was pure bliss. Having the facial mask on while having my hair washed was great. There was also a steamer that was in the sink during the shampoo and conditioning treatment so I stayed cozy and my neck was relaxed. I asked for low-scent products because I have migraines and nothing triggered one for me. The massage was the best part. I felt like I was melting into the bed. This was supposed to be a 1 hour 30 minute appointment, which I was worried I'd have a hard time sitting through, but I walked out 2 hours later, after she gently dried and softly brushed my hair while I was trying not to fall asleep. I went home and immediately went to bed. I showed up extremely anxious looking for some way to calm my brain down; I walked out feeling fully Zen! Thank you! read more

I booked a head spa and facial thru their website. It came with 15% off which should have been $76.50. I got there and did the service. Came time to pay she charged me $106.61. I showed her the appointment info from their booking website that said it's $76.50 and she acted like she didn't know. When I asked for my receipt she said she didn't know how to print it for me. She just washed my hair, facial was ok, then she just blow dried my hair and let me walk out with frizzy hair when I came in with sleek curls. Be careful going to this place they don't honor their online price and service is not worth the price they will charge you! read more

Cramped, noisy, none of the linens changed between clients, nor the hairbrushes cleaned/sanitized that they use when they are drying your hair. A very loud alarm went off during our visit saying to evacuate the building, but noone budged, so I questioned them about it. Apparently, it happens all the time. Weird. Further, the products they used left my fine hair in oily tangles and my face was rashy for 2 days afterwards. I would never go back, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. After our services was done, my mom had given a $20 tip that they were clearly not happy about. they DEMANDED on getting more. we felt like we were bullied into giving them more on tips. you will NEVER get services from us or my friends ever again. Tips are not mandatory, and I wouldve loved to have left more on my accord but that is no way to treat your customers. You demanding made me not want to give you guys any at all. read more

Everything was amazing. I had Yutami (phonetic spelling) and she was INCREDIBLE. Not only is my scalp the cleanest it's been in years but she worked out knots I've had for 10 years.
