I have had five massages with George and I highly recommend. Prior to that I experienced left shoulder pain when swimming, that has resolved completely. I also had a severely tight quadricep after a hip replacement, that is much improved. I am going to start 90 minute massages so there is more time to work on the quadricep. George is a great communicator who adjusts pressure as needed, and he made sure to focus on areas of concerns (though like many, his skilled hands found far more areas of tension than I even knew). He is friendly, kind, incredibly good at his job, and the studio space is clean, inviting, and convenient with the onsite parking and easy online scheduling. My boyfriend surprised me with a 90min massage from George, and boy was it a nice surprise! Upon entering the space is very clean and relaxing. George asked if I had any areas in particular that needed extra attention, I always say no when getting a massage, because my whole body needs attention. I've never found a place that seemed right for me but after seeing all the great reviews and decent prices I tried this place out, it said for first time customers you need to make appointments two days in advance, but George had texted me asking if an earlier time would work. The place was a little difficult to find, just find the building with 598 on it then go up the stairs. George was very nice and professional. I've been searching for years to finally find a massage therapist that I'm willing to pay to go back to more than once and have never found one. I had a massage with George today after having shoulder and arm pain for several months that I just can't seem to shake. I had seen a Groupon for Southcenter Massage and figured that it was likely a good value for the price. I was wrong--it was an incredible value! My shoulder and arm had been hurting for several months from carrying a heavy laptop bag cross-body. Once aware of what it was doing, I switched to a roller bag. I had been to several other places over those months and each time the massage made it feel a bit better, but it was always very temporary, with the deep ache never fully gone, and slowly coming back. For those who are sensitive to fragrances . . . you are in for a treat! George has a fragrance-free office - not posted as such, but there is nothing but a clean, freshly laundered smell (no chlorine odor) in the treatment rooms and reception area. The lotion/oil is also non-irritating. If having a 'safe' environment for chemically sensitive individuals wasn't enough, the greatest part of it all was the massage! Hands down, best massage I've ever gotten! I don't get massages frequently, it's more of a luxury for myself than a necessity so I've been to many different massage places. Well, someone at my Crossfit gym told me about his recent Groupon so I decided it was about time for a massage and I bought it. I booked my appointment on a Friday and earlier that week I decided I wanted to go back into working out again as I try to recover from a shoulder injury that I'm going through physical therapy for. The entire week of working out my shoulder was killing me, it was hurting so bad! Heat and ice wasn't making it any better. When I went to my appointment George asked me what the main focus of my massage would be. Of course I told him mainly shoulders and full body. Not even within 5 minutes of my massage he made sure to ask if the pressure was okay and when she shifted to another area he described that it was going to be a little tense so the pressure may seem harder and to let him know if he needed to adjust. No adjustment needed, I like firm massages and he was consistent throughout the duration of my massage. Once the session was over my shoulder pain was gone, as if it never existed! I felt great and rejuvenated! I highly recommend this place! George is friendly and seems very knowledgeable with how to relieve any stress within particular muscle groups. Okay, I must admit, I don't usually take the time to write reviews...but I definitely read them! I just read the review made by Kerry S. and had to write a response. I travel to Seattle a couple times a year for work and almost always make some time to get a massage from Southcenter Massage. I have never had any trouble making an appointment online. I find his online appointment system to be convenient and easy to use. I don't need to worry about calling before the office closes to schedule an appointment. Online is available 24/7! Now, I'm not saying that my first choice is always available, but that's too be expected with any reputable business. If I ALWAYS got what I wanted, I'd question how good this business was! (In fact, I have an appointment for tomorrow that I booked online last month). In regards to the groupon certificate....I'm curious as to why someone would wait this long before using it? Common sense would tell you that when it comes to redeeming something that requires an appointment...of course available times would be limited the closer it gets to the expiration date. I purchased a couple of groupon certificates for some co-workers and they had no problem redeeming them! To those reading these reviews, I encourage you to take the other reviews into consideration before making your decision based on one negative review.
