I bought a group on for permanent make up- wanted to get my brows done after I read so many wonderful reviews about America (the owner) and I'm so glad I did!! First off let me say that this is not a fancy spa environment, but if you are ok with that and like the home feeling of a family run salon like I do, its definitely worth the trip!! good cost and quality!! America is experienced with permanent makeup and she definitely knows what she is doing. Her and her daughter are so friendly and sweet! America was very warm and attentive and explained to me each step of what she was doing throughout the permanent make up process. I felt very comfortable and confident in her hands. First she applied a numbing agent to my brows before we waxed them to perfect the shape. I was all ready to go but she actually was the one who really wanted to take the time to be absolutely certain that my brows were perfect and uniform with each other. I've always had one a little higher than the other and she was able to fix it better than I have ever had before. When the wax was good then she filled it in with pencil as guidelines for the tattoo machine. Here came the hard part. Not the tattoo but the lidocaine injections. Not gonna lie- they hurt so bad!!! But America was absolutely right that while the sting was intense, it went away in less than 10 seconds. By the time all the injections were done and we had picked out the ink color that matched the best and was the most natural, that tattoo machine didnt bother me one bit! Even kind of tickled a little bit. WORTH IT! My brows healed just like the take home instructions said that America gave me. Now they are perfect and natural looking, I am so happy to not have to pencil them in every day anymore!! I purchased a Groupon for upper lids permanent makeup. I asked if she wanted to see pics I'd saved on Pinterest, and she said she already knew. I wanted them doe/cat eye, but not too extreme. She showed me the needles that were sealed in new packaging. It was very sterile and clean where the procedure is done. I ended up getting my brows done as well. She was very professional. I'm happy with how it looks so far. I can see that the left eye needs to have a bit more added. Hopefully the brows fade from what they are. I went to get tattooing done on my eyebrows as I've never had any and always wanted something. America did a wonderful job. Explained everything and showed me all the pkgs as she opened them. I've been back for a touch up and love the way they look even though its been only 2 weeks. I did have moderate amount of swelling and bruising. Only issue is I don't like how much they have faded and wish lines blended better in for more natural look ... But this is probably something on my end. Zen Salon - My healed eyebrows done by America - Permanent Makeup Near Me - Lynnwood, Washington

Unfortunately I had a negative experience at Zen Salon America for tattoo eyeliner. I'll stick to the facts: 1. My Appointment was at 2pm and I was not seen til 4pm. 2. They accidentally numbed my eyebrows instead of my top eyelid. 3. The lady applied too much numbing medication to my eye as it immediately leaked into my eye and stung. She said they'd be with me in 25 minutes. They had forgot about me, 50 minutes later I opened the door (not being able to see a thing) and politely asked for help. 4. America did not introduce herself, I had to ask who she was. 5. When I showed America what eyeliner shape I wanted, she replied, "No Honey, I'm not going to do that for you. You'll hate me when you wake up in the morning." I said that this was the type of eyeliner I do every day and I want a wing. She said I could pay for a retouch in 6 months for $150. 6. The tattoo session was interrupted by someone, America left for a few minutes then came back and resumed. Maybe that's why my 'points' (not wings) are actually uneven. 7. Upon quick swelling, America asked if I took the medication. I responded "No, what medication?" She said I was supposed to take Naproxen 3 hours before my appointnent. No one told me that very important detail. 8. The initially agreed upon price on Groupon was $140. I was overcharged $185 by a receptionist who could not speak English. On a personal note, I am very upset. I was never apologized to after being neglected and in fact was treated as an inconvenience. I actually dislike the shape of eyeliner that America chose, as it is uneven and there is no wing which was the whole point of me getting it done. I left shaking to tell u the truth. I'm extremely disappointed and regret choosing Zen Salon to do my permenant makeup that I now have to correct every day. read more

If you have one of America's coupons she won't think twice about canceling you at the last minute, if she gets a full paying customer.  But that would be a good thing...After having had other eye tats with no issues at all, I had major issues with whatever she used on my brows and they were ugly infected for 2 months.  After the way I had been treated, I decided not to let her do the touch up, that I certainly needed, after the infections healed. hey I went to there last week afternoon, I was wait 20mins at lobby and after that their put numb cream on me said will done in 25mins, but I was wait at lobby over 45 mins, so I need to added numb cream between the session, becuae I felt pain almost done of the eyeborws serivces, well what the hell those witing time to waste the customers time in that salon business. Also I seeing something wrong of my eyebrows and was concern of the color, I tried concat the salon got America cell phone the who apply my eyebrows service, I texted her attached with my photos but didn't get any response. One thing this is my touch up serivces, she recommends I should visit one more time next month to touch up again. Very ridiculous I have microblading on my eyebrows many time in past 20 year, this is my first hear someone mentioned return 2 times visit to do touch up so 3 times with pay again to get done of the eyeborws? Unfortunately I'm writing this review to let you know that if you have an appointment plan on waiting over an hour just to be seen. This is my second visit and both times I waited an hour past my appointment time. Today I was told that I wouldn't be seen for another 45 minutes, so an hour and half wait?? If you ask when you're going to be seen they speak in Spanish about you. If I ran my business this way I would be embarrassed . I almost didn't come back for the touch up because she hiked the price up while I was in the chair but at that point what do you do right? I'm literally in the middle so wtf am I going say? Five weeks ago I had my eyebrows redone (after 12 years), lower and upper eyeliner done here by America. She was totally sweet and explained everything she was doing including showing you a new needle in a package. She is fun and easy to talk to and very easy to understand. Today I went back as after the swelling and healing process (everyone is different), I wanted my eyebrows a bit thicker so she took care of that and I super love them. I have had many compliments. Procedure : Permanent Eyeliner for the Upper Eyelids My review: I love love love it! My appointment was on November 18, 2016. I thought I'd wait until I'm totally healed and see the final result so I can thoroughly make a review to help other people in search of the same service. Salon : It was very easy to find. It's just by a gas station alongside other mini stores and service places so you know, it is that easy to find, it's on major street/ highway. With that said, do not expect a highly posh looking clinic. The place looks to be a family / friends run business, so the atmosphere is very casual, they're Spanish and English speaking. Parking was limited just as all gas stations are. I was able to park conveniently just a few steps to the salon. It's a tiny place that also has a mini hair salon. The room where my procedure was done was clean and looks very equipped. Steps before/ during / after : I made an appointment by phone. I went in, got greeted, I had to fill out and sign some forms. What I found odd was my drivers license being photocopied for their record. I never had that experience before. My aesthetician was America. She gave me two Advils, had me lay down and applied some numbing cream which stung if a bit went into your eyes. So keep that in mind. During: America asked me what I want done then gave her suggestion which I really liked. She was fast and precise. Pain: I didn't feel any pain but just some scratching. My eyes are sensitive so I was quite watery. But no pain at all. I liked that America really went as close to my waterline. And I love the beautiful precision of the tiny wing line. America was fast that you know she had done many of these procedures and probably in many cases with much more complicated requests from clients. During the procedure, my eyeliner looks so thick but as it healed, it came down to exactly as I have wanted 100%. My eyelids were puffy but not gross, just the look when you cry your hearts out two days in a row. America gave me an antibiotic cream and petroleum jelly with simple verbal instructions. It was cold out so when I head to my car, my eyes felt some discomfort. America did request me to make a yelp review after she was done which I intended in the first place. I waited days so I can be thorough, may it be a positive outcome or negative one. I would express my satisfaction or displeasure regardless as a form of feedback for Zen Salon ( should they choose to make changes or improvements ) and to help other people as well. First of all I must say America is amazing at what she does. She is incredibly talented and I went back to have my eyebrows done ( after she did them about 3 years ago) very happy, again with the results. At that time she said they had a special going for permanent eyeliner. 94 for lower and 169 for the top. Awesome I said and made an appt/ The process was really good. I had black eyes for about a week but that's to be expected. I called to make my touch appt and was pretty upset to hear that they charge an additional $150.00 for the touch up. A few area's on my eyes are missing a bit and i cant believe the touch up is not included. the bottom line is YES she is great but be they shoujd be upfront about this. Tell their customers that it touch ups are not incuded. Bottom line is it was NOT a special price they just made it out like it was. My girlfriend has had her eyebrows done twice by America and was very happy. During the last eyebrow appointment which I paid for as a Christmas present, America recommended she get her eyeliner done and would give her a special price. I believe it was just shy of $300. So an appointment was set up and it was done. Fast forward a few weeks when it's healed and there are areas missing ink. When called for a touchup appointment they said all touchups are charged. They want money to repair a job that was done incorrectly? I have been in the tattoo industry for going on twenty years and have never heard of such a thing. So they do not stand by their work. It's sad that we have to pay more to get a job done right and that they lost a return client that has been very happy up to this point. I am so glad I found America at Zen Salon. I have been looking around for years to fins a professional to give me permanent eyebrows. I am a Cosmetologist so I have seen my share of bad artistry and unsanitary conditions. America's work is beautiful, she walks you through each step and explains everything she is doing and lets you know what to expect and when. She shows you when she opens the new needle. I felt safe. My Eyebrows look amazingly natural. I went back for my 6 week follow up, I was happy before but she perfected what was not noticeable to anyone else now they are perfect. I have recommended several of my friend to her. She took time to with me because of a slight language barrier, so we were both certain of what the other was trying to communicate. I would not recommend for permanent eyebrows. I got uneven, different shaped eyebrows. I also noticed that she used a lighter pigment (tried to match my skin color) to cover up her mistakes. She never mentioned anything to me about that. I am upset that she was not honest with me. read more

I just got eyeliner tattooing done here and am waiting the full month to see how it turns out before I give my full rating. But in the meantime, I want to say that America, who did my tattoo, has such a calm manner that it makes the whole process less scary. She talks you through everything in a really reassuring way before, during and after the procedure. She also provides sufficient numbing gel to make the pain minimal to none. Afterwards, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I only had minimal swelling and very minimal bruising. I'll come back to post more and a picture (if I can) after the month period has passed for the tattoo to fully set in. So far, I'm liking the way it turned out, too. I've gotten a few compliments, too. I'm trying to maintain it using exactly the instructions she gave so that minimal to no touch-up is necessary afterwards (it costs extra if touch-up is necessary after a month, which is the only downside). I went in today to get my eyebrows tattooed - America is skilled at what she does and puts in extra effort to make you comfortable. I am excited to see the results after the healing process! I had my eyebrows done in December 2015 and then went back for my 6-week tune-up in January. After my first appointment, I liked my eyebrows but knew they weren't perfect. America told me this would be the case and told me to come back for my 6-week appointment so adjustments could be made. Honestly, I could have lived with the original eyebrows. I was just happy that I didn't have to apply my eyebrows every morning. I could also go swimming or exercise without worrying about my eyebrows coming off. However, I did show up for my 6-week appointment at which time America perfected the shape. I'm so happy I went to this second appointment as now my eyebrows ARE perfect and exactly what I wanted. The downside is I have to go through the healing process again and this is not pretty. The tattooed area scabs and swells and looks gross for at least a week. Also, the tattooing process was very painful for me. There were times when I thought I couldn't take anymore, but I hung in there. I think it was worth it. read more

WORST EXPERIENCE ON MY LIFE!!!!! If you are looking to damage your face with incorrectly applied permanent make-up this place will do the trick. America (the owner) though friendly and will sell you on anything; however her lack of knowledge or experience makes her a huge health hazard. I had my lips tattooed with her and after 2 weeks of excessive bruising and swelling I found out that she changed she shape of lips completely and confirmed that she used dark brown on my lips instead of the light cinnamon color we had agreed on. She injected my lips with an anesthetic that swelled up my lips to the point that she could not see their shape, not to mentioned she never marked the area she would tattoo. After 3 weeks I contacted her for a correction or my money back only to receive a response that there's is nothing she could do to help me. I am checking whether they have a medical license to perform lidocaine injections and reporting them to the better business bureau. WARNING!!!! DO NOT GO HERE!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! read more
