I was recommended this gym by a friend, I started my fitness journey earlier this year…read more Unfortunately I deal with mild anxiety and using big machines is kind of intimidating at other gyms. I decided to come and check it out, I was also looking for personal training just to get the guidance that I so desperately need. I had my assessment with Miguel, and man this guy made me feel comfortable from the very beginning. Throughout the entire hour I spent with him, there was not one moment I felt self-conscious or judged, I felt right at home and it was because of his disposition. He found ways to relate to my personal experience, he managed to make me come out of my shell (which is not a very easy thing to do). By the end of the assessment I knew this would be my new home gym, I needed to become a member AND I needed to sign up for personal training with him of course. I am now a proud member of LM Fitness, I cannot wait to continue to work with Miguel and all the amazing people I have met so far. I have been at this location twice now and every single time the vibe just feels right, I cannot wait to experience this little family they have created.

Overall, great experience here. I love to show this place off to friends when I can too! With the new renovations, this place.....it's like when you thought a great thing couldn't get better!

I've been training with Henry for 2 years now working on speed, agility strength and have learned and seen massive improvements. As a soccer player I never really went to the gym and thought it was a waste of time but Henry has taught me the importance of off the field work, how to fuel my body, and most importantly take care of my body. He's positive energy and motivation has kept me pushing and wanting to train more with him. He always pushes me to reach my maximum potential and he truly is the best trainers out there.

I have been working with Henry for about a month now, and I already feel like this will be the place that I'll be coming for the rest of my life. As a trainer, Henry is kind, patient, and encouraging, but he will also push you because he knows you're capable of it. He is also a truly gifted teacher, and he's been helping me learn about proper form and how to structure my workouts so that I can avoid injury. I also really appreciate that Henry tailors his work with you based upon your own goals. Learning how to work out properly was really important to me, and he's gone out of his way to help me understand how to exercise in a way that never makes me feel silly or weird for not already knowing this stuff. I genuinely look forward to my workouts with Henry -- a sentence I never thought that I would say! If you're someone like me who has struggled with finding a comfortable gym environment, I cannot recommend Henry or the other amazing trainers at this gym enough. I feel so grateful to have found this place!!

I started working out at Lift two months ago, and I absolutely love it…read more The workouts are effective and efficient, and, if you're a nerd like me, it's interesting to hear Dirk and Chenell talk about how the movements strengthen different muscle groups. They're always nearby to make sure my form is correct, and they never lose patience when I ask them to remind me how to do certain moves. Speaking of supervision, I went to Lift today for the first time in about a week and a half, and I told Chenell that I've been experiencing some pain in my left shoulder. She sent Dirk outside to talk to me about it, and after I described my symptoms, he re-wrote part of my workout and continued to check in to make sure I wasn't in any pain. I felt super safe and respected, and there was ZERO pressure for me to push through any discomfort. Hiiiighly recommend this place!

The environment is welcoming, supportive, and most importantly, safe in every way. As a woman, that matters more than it should, but here we are, still at that point in this dumb world, unfortunately. I have never once felt uncomfortable working out there. The gym itself has six stations, which makes it feel like a semi-private training experience and all of the training is with free weights. Every workout is tailored specifically to me, which is a huge benefit. I'm a former ballerina with injuries and fibromyalgia, so I need a lot of modification in my training, depending on the day. They always meet me where I am at and we adjust as needed. They also still manage to keep things challenging when I express wanting to push further but it is always in a way that feels safe and productive. One thing I especially appreciate, coming from a dance background, is how much they focus on body mechanics. Dirk, Chenell, and Emily don't just tell you what to do or demo it once and walk away. They actually take the time to explain what's happening in your body, how to move correctly, and why it matters. Over the past almost five years, I've gotten noticeably stronger and my body has changed for the better but beyond that, it's had a real impact on my mental health, too. Showing up here feels good; so good, that I recommend the gym to many of my friends. If you're looking for a place to train and a workout that's personal and supportive with real results, this is the place.

April 25, 2024 Providing an update to my previous review…read more In the six months that have elapsed, I had forgotten that the staff person who eventually helped me cancel my membership had assured me that he would refund me for the month of November as I had not been in the gym for some time. I appreciated the gesture but was not too confident that he would take care of it. Well, after being notified this week of another Yelp user's reaction to my review, I recalled that promise to refund my monthly charge from November'23. I decided to call the site and amazingly the person who picked up the phone was perfectly polite and professional. In fact, after just a few seconds I realized that I recalled her (from her unforgettable and distinct voice) as the original person who toured with me when I initially started at the gym. She was great, within five minutes I had received a call back from her exactly as she promised and informed me that the refund would be processed within a few days. Today I received confirmation that yes, she and Anytime (ABC) had refunded my credit card. I can't imagine why it took the business owner months to reply to my initial Yelp review, but I can truly say that I hope he sees the extraordinary way that one customer service representative can impact a client's views. The person who helped (and toured) me is STEPHANIE - please appreciate that gem that you have there. She made all the difference and because of her quality handling of my account, I am open to rejoining once I return to Glendale later this year.

This one was nice; enjoyed the free parking and all the amenities all the other ones have, like showers, but it is not top tier. Machines are broken; some have signs that don't work. There's also a lack of other machines that are more obvious in other locations; it seems like they only carry the basic machines, which is fine if you want a simple workout, but there's very little variety here. The palm desert location is small as well but has more variety than this one. I do like the privacy, though; it is not as crazy or chaotic as other gyms. Coming in at 9 pm on a Tuesday was great; there were only about 4 other people here, which I loved. The other well known gyms are busy and filled with chaotic, judgmental people. In this one, everyone was just there for a workout. Small gyms and higher price points do tend to keep all the $10 membership people away, which makes a big difference in gyms. So far in my return back to LA, I am in search of a great Anytime Fitness location, and there are others in the San Fernando Valley I need to check out. I may come here once in a while, but I do need to see what else is out there. I just feel like something is missing here.

Most of the time it's ok, however some machines they clearly need more of. For example, the row machine (they have only one of) and pec fly machine (they have two). These you can almost guarantee that there will be a line. Cables. Lines are manageable but there is a bigger issue. Half the time there are literally no attachments. At times there will be say two triceps ropes and a single bar between the 6 cables to share. So, not only not enough variety of attachments (which is also true), but at times literally not enough to even have any kind of attachment on all the cables. I don't know if people take them to the private training area (which is not accessible to normies) or whatever they do with it, but it's very common at this gym and a deal breaker issue, I'd say. Sauna - insanely nasty. Horrible. Feels very unsanitary. I used it twice and both times my freshly washed towel, that I used there to sit on, caught this horrible stink of probably hundreds of peoples' sweats soaked in the wood of the sauna benches. I would've probably caught hepatitis A through Z had I not used the towel (half-joking). Still on the subject of sauna - not necessarily exclusive to this gym, but most people don't know sauna etiquette. They go in, wearing their sweaty shoes and clothes and do freaking sit ups and other crap in there, resulting in all of us sitting in heat and breathing in their stinky body and unwashed sweaty clothes evaporates. To those people, learn some manners and look up sauna etiquette before using it next time, that is nasty and you are just being an a**hole, with all due respect. That is not good for you or anyone around you. To the gym management - maybe print out sauna etiquettes and post them in a few places where sauna users can see? Have rules of use, just like you do for everything else? Overall, not ideal, but compared to some other gyms within walking distance it is at least usable.

BUT I don't think I've ever been anywhere that was so unprofessionally run by management before. Mind you, this took months of build up for me to get to the point of finally put my thoughts on Yelp as a review. This place started off as Immunity Fitness (I have photos attached, please refer to them) and it was in a different location. Clients were updated with occasional emails which I appreciated quite a bit. I was even understanding that the gym needed to change locations, which was only a couple of blocks down the street. Not a big deal. BUT this is when things took a very poor turn. The emailed updates stopped coming. All updates were just scribbled notes taped onto the front door entrance. They changed their name to City Fit (which I was unaware of due to no updates) and when I was charged under this new name, I thought my card had been hacked so I had to call my credit card company for a replacement card and new number. This is already a hassle because I have to go through all my subscriptions and change the CC numbers manually. Unfortunately it wasn't the only time this happened. Again with no updates I was charged under yet another name: Precision Tune Auto Care. I stared at this statement for a good long while because for the life of me I couldn't remember getting my car fixed up from an auto care shop. I again had to get a new credit card and number thinking I got hacked again, once more having to go through all my subscriptions and changing the numbers manually. It wasn't until I got to the gym that I realized they changed the name on us again. Management changed and I was forced to take a photo of my drivers license and send it to a private number which I was really uncomfortable with, but had no choice because they wouldn't give me the code to the front door until I had done so. Again all this with no email updates or notices. Just a hand scribbled message taped onto the front door. No idea what the point of the multiple name changes are. Hopefully they're not up to shady intentions. If you look around the gym there's actually no license or permit for the gym which is also pretty sketchy. Equipment is on the older side and things are falling apart. Found some broken equipment today. I wouldn't be surprised if they threw us another curveball with no updates or if they read this and straight up cancel my membership without telling me. I've talked with some of the other members and they have shared their frustrations of the same issues with me as well. For anyone considering signing up here, I hope you read this so you can really make an informed decision before you decide to make the commitment here.

I was on a waitlist once so i just showed up to the class hoping i could get in. After the class had started they let late people in who were over 5 minutes late and I wasn't able to take the class, which is fair enough...However I then had booked a class, couldnt find parking and was 2 minutes late for the class (their is a 5 minute grace period) I was told I couldnt take the class because they gave it to someone on the waitlist. But when I was the waitlist, the same did not occur. Then today I went to take my 9:15 class. I guess I had a $15 fee for missing a class, (My kid had been sick and they have a 12 hour cancellation policy) I keep a limited credit card on file there as one time I got a fraudulent charge for $125 from a meter outside their facility. So I offered to pay with Apple pay (which they take) But I was told they cant take the apple pay and I would need to go home and get my waller otherwise I couldnt take the class, I had already paid for. If I went home, I would have missed half the class. The gentlemen also said to me " We need a card on file. I explained that I can pay the card down when I get home and he said and I quote " This can't keep happening, this is how we run our business" But this had never happened before, I have had fees in the past, and they have always been paid. Its a shame as I mentioned because some of the teachers are awesome but theier rules are inconsistent at best and the delivery is rude and untruthful. I have had many memberships over the years and never have i had such inconsistent policies. I wont be going back again which is a shame.
