I have never felt more comfortable and empowered in my life: I'm used to coach Ariel, who is amazing, and I dare to venture out to and today had Coach ED IN GLENDALE, when I arrived, I thought maybe I was in an advanced class and Coach Simmy held me accountable to believing in myself that I belonged in that class most importantly that I was capable. I don't know if it's the mission statement. I don't know if it's the core or business objectives of MTK, but the blueprint is clear from their NOHO location to Glendale. Yuichi is a gracious guy and the staff and coaches are amazing people who do a great job of motivating others, and making everyone feel like part of the pack. And you leave feeling even better. The classes are suitable for people of all skill levels and you have your choice of boxing, kickboxing, bootcamp and sparring. The trainers are top notch (shout out to Justin!). If you're looking to get in a workout between classes, they have cardio equipment and weights. There's a recovery room for sports massage and compression sleeves, etc. Rates are competitive, bathrooms are always nice and clean, music always bumping and if you're lucky you'll get to meet Koko the mascot :)

DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT HERE. If I could give this place zero stars, I would…read more ​I signed my daughter up in August for what I was explicitly told was a six-month agreement. Nobody ever mentioned that the gym would automatically shift to a month-to-month charge after that period ended. My daughter only actually attended for about two months, yet they have continued to pull money from my account well past the six-month mark. ​When I caught the charges and asked for a refund, they flat-out refused. The best they offered was a 3-month credit. Because my daughter can no longer attend due to her school and work schedule, I asked if the credit could at least be transferred to me so the money wouldn't go to waste. The representative said she "didn't think it was possible" but claimed she would look into it. ​To make matters worse, their cancellation process is incredibly sketchy: ​I canceled online but never received a confirmation email. ​I called and spoke to a representative who promised to email me a cancellation confirmation, a copy of my original contract, and the 3-month credit offer in writing. ​They never sent anything. ​They are more than happy to keep taking your money without authorization, but completely ghost you when you ask for paperwork or a resolution. Save your money, protect your bank account, and stay far away from this gym!

Each class offers unique, complex workouts that help with cardio, endurance, and strength. Everyone gets their own heavy bag to workout on. Plenty of space for you to practice your roundhouse kick. I've never felt intimidated here, rather I feel more confident than ever, in all aspects of my life. I'm healthier and in much better shape than when I first started at AAK. I never went to any of the others; I signed up full-time at this one. This time the owner was back and teaching classes and while a pretty different workout from the first instructor that I loved, also an amazing class with amazing classmates. There is clearly a pervasive attitude at this gym, which is absolutely perfect for me!
