The night manager who has a limp and assistant manager who is short and has curly hair with cauliflower ear are beyond creepy. Instead of running the store, they stalk and stare at customers--especially women--making the whole shopping experience extremely uncomfortable. The moment you walk in, they start following you around the store, watching your every move like some kind of predator. I don't know if they think they're being subtle, but it's painfully obvious. It's unsettling and makes you want to leave as fast as possible. No customer should feel watched, judged, or stalked while trying to shop. On top of that, they treat their employees like absolute garbage right in front of customers. I've seen them yell at workers, degrade them, and act like they're above everyone. If this is how they behave when people are watching, I can only imagine how bad it is behind the scenes. Between the creepy, unprofessional behavior and the toxic management, I cannot recommend this store to anyone--especially at night. If you don't want to feel watched, stalked, or uncomfortable, do yourself a favor and shop somewhere else.

This is a magnificent, rustic, unique, expansive establishment that offers a cornucopia of items. The minute you walk in you're going to be hungry, even if you just ate. The house smoked and cured meats can literally be smelled in the parking lot. DGS has everything from local North Michigan specialities to fresh produce and an array of MI butchery products. The star of the show however is all their house made meats... Sausages, brats, jerky, etc., DSG has it all. Plus the staff is super friendly and helpful... Some of the friendliest people we've met in a while.
