Alright, fellow Yelpers, here are my thoughts on Gallery Espresso…read more I'll be honest, this is one of the harder coffee shop reviews for me to write because I'm a little torn. Do I think Gallery Espresso has the absolute best coffee in Savannah? No. Do I think it has my favorite atmosphere in Savannah? Also no. Personally, I tend to gravitate toward coffee shops with a slightly more modern feel, while Gallery Espresso leans more toward a classic, eclectic, and somewhat antique-inspired vibe. That said, I think judging a coffee shop solely on where it ranks in one category misses the point. If you're looking for a place to spend an entire afternoon working, reading, studying, meeting a friend, or simply relaxing, Gallery Espresso is one of the most reliable spots in Savannah. It has plenty of seating, mostly dependable Wi-Fi (though full transparency, it can occasionally get a little spotty), air conditioning, good food, solid drinks, and a comfortable environment where nobody seems to mind if you settle in for a few hours and get things done. In fact, despite there being a few coffee shops in Savannah that I would rank higher in specific categories, Gallery Espresso is probably the coffee shop I visit more than any other in the city. Why? Consistency. Every time I walk in, I know exactly what I'm getting. The service is dependable, the environment is comfortable, and it's simply an easy place to be productive. I'm personally a fan of their chai tea lattes, and their bagels are always a solid choice. You really can't go wrong stopping in here whether you're a local looking for a regular workspace or a visitor needing a comfortable place to recharge. I tend to be pretty critical in my reviews, so if anyone from Gallery Espresso happens to read this, I promise this isn't a criticism. There are a few places in Savannah that I think do certain things better. Some have more memorable coffee. Some have a more unique atmosphere. But very few places deliver the level of consistency that Gallery Espresso does day after day, and that's exactly why I find myself returning more often than almost anywhere else. For me, that's worth 4 out of 5 stars. I'm giving it four stars because while there are a few places in Savannah that I think function better as dedicated coffee shops, Gallery Espresso does an excellent job balancing good coffee with comfortable seating, food options, a productive atmosphere, and the ability to spend hours there without feeling rushed. When you take all of those factors together, it's one of the strongest all-around coffee shop experiences in the city. And sometimes, that's exactly what makes a great coffee shop.

I wanted to love Gallery Espresso. The location is perfect and the sidewalk seating is very cute…read more There are a lot of pros and cons with this one. Pros - The honey biscuit was SO good. Major points for serving actual iced coffee instead of cold brew. The iced coffee was incredible. Very strong. I normally drink red eyes and half a cup of this stuff will have you ready to run the city. Lots of teas if you're a tea drinker. Cons - The inside is giving what can best be described as hipster cat lady energy. It just felt a little dirty and chaotic. Some people probably find it 'eclectic". Skip the bagels. They weren't...awful... but coming from the Northeast, we're probably impossible to impress in the bagel department.

I got the Woodstock drip coffee (I let the barista pick based on my preference for low acidity coffee), the Turkey C sandwich, my son got the banana bread and a PSL, my daughter's got a chai and blueberry muffins. My kids loved their treats and drinks, admittedly they are an easy audience. I enjoyed my coffee, as hoped for it was smooth a law acid, despite drinking it black. The sandwich was absolutely outstanding. Bacon was thick and smoky, the roll had just the right "squish" and "chewiness" of a good hard roll, and it wasn't greasy or sloppy at all, which is exactly why I picked it. The Mediterranean salad was not quite what I expected, I thought it would involve black olives and feta cheese, but it had neither, and I appreciated that it was different and not too oily. The food prices feel a touch high but if you look at the quality of the food, and their use of premium ingredients, it is reasonable for what you get. Staff was friendly and good came out fast. There is a long table for bigger groups and small tables for up to four to sit. In general, Summerville has been mostly misses for me on food, but I like Coastal Coffee and would return if I was in the area and wanting a bite or a brew. J.Ja

They still have their arcade area with prizes, the bar/lounge area with food, but something was slightly different. They had all new lounges/chairs and tables near the alley. The scoring is better and fully automated. The lanes were in good shape. Lots of video screens and TV's for guidance and entertainment. The ball return was much faster than it was the last time I was there. Less jams (none while we were there) than last time as well. The rest rooms were very clean. I'll be back again this week. Maybe I'll try the food next time.

We were actually going to eat at the restaurant but it was packed for trivia night on Thursday evening. While bowling we were able to order from a counter. Not all of the same food that is offered at the restaurant but pretty good. We had pepperoni pizza and loaded fries. Both were good! The people next to us had loaded nachos and those also looked good. The night we were there some of the lanes were closed for a private party. They actually put a blind up. I've also been on a Wednesday and it seemed there was a league there. Just be mindful when planning a trip here :)
