Nerds in a Flash arrived late on a day that I was tightly scheduled and asked for considerably more than they had originally estimated (exactly the same job/problem I had described to them)... but redeemed themselves by cheerfully solving my problem and agreeing to the original estimate. Would I hire them again? You bet, but I recommend that you have them come in on a day that you have a flexible schedule, because your own time pressures are demonstrably unimportant to them.

As a business owner, I understand that because some problems take longer than expected, scheduling service calls isn't an exact science. The most important thing is communication. James ended up running a little late but he handled it perfectly. He called me with 10 minutes left in the window to apologize and let me know he would be a few minutes late, which he was (3 minutes). In my experience, if someone is 3 minutes late they consider that on time and they certainly wouldn't call and give a heads up. As far as the service call goes, not only did he get my new computer set up, he figured out what was wrong with the old one and got it running again. Ending up with 2 working computers never entered my mind as an option. James made sure that he took care of everything I needed and helped me with a few things I didn't know that I needed. It's been a while since I've had a set IT resource so it was very helpful to talk with James about the other services he could help me with in the future. The Genius Bar at Apple told me it could not be repaired and I would need to replace the Logic Board for $850 or "just buy a new one." A local (Orange County) 3rd party repair shop, after having it for a week, told me it couldn't be repaired. I then went to Reddit for help and suggestions. There were several referrals to Rossmann Repair Group. I contacted them through their online contact form. They immediately messaged with a few more questions and then gave me the necessary details to send my device to them in Austin. I did so - of course, the holidays slowed things down a bit, but by the second week in January, I received word that my lap top had been successfully repaired, losing NONE of my data. Amazing! The cost? A mere $459 which includes shipping back (USPS) to me, signing at delivery. I did have go pay for shipping to get it to them. Totally worth it to me. To insure safe and speedy delivery, signing upon delivery, to them. I paid about $89 for UPS, not including double boxing and bubble wrap. So, in total, I paid $638, for shipping to, repair, shipping back. I didn't lose ANY of my data. I am sooo happy and thankful to Rossmann Repair Group. Thank you!!!

After about 5 minutes he came back stating the power rail was broken, but I did not proceed with the repair, as the cost of repair was more than the value of the laptop. The quote was half of Apple's quote and came with a guarantee if that I will not pay if they can't successfully fix it. This is miles better than the Apple store as they would make you wait over 15 minutes even though you had an appointment just for the "genius" to say you need to quote an $800 logic board replacement. But the reviews were encouraging which is why I am writing one. We did this all remotely. So didn't even spend money on gas! My 2020 MacBook Pro was crawling, I had reset the modem but didn't unplug the cables from the router and somehow that was the fix That aside, my MacBook was kind of a mess so Alan helped me organise all my files and we reclaimed a ton of space on the hard drive.
