This place is awesome. Good food and great drink selections. Food is tasty (good diversity as well) and comes out quick. The y do have beer wine and hard liquor. One thing that was rather disappointing was the bears on draft changed June 1, but 2 weeks later the menus had not been updated. I asked for 3 different beers that were no lo gar being served but were still on the menu/chalkboard and they did not have. Aj was our server and he gave excellent recommendations for beers and pairings with our order. He was quick and very attentive . I would recommend for those visiting San Angelo. read more

We were celebrating a special day and a long awaited date night. We had three restaurants on our list to try and Zero One Ale House won because of the variety of food offered. Now we typically order appetizers but passed because of something special on the dessert menu. But being a brewery, one must sample the droughts and our server made that easy by offering a flight of four from the taps. We chose a German Lager, American Cider and two in house IPAs. One IPA (Imperial Amber IPA) was not to our liking but we tried it, the other three were consumed completely. We would not hesitate to order the Cider or the German Lager again. Moving to entrees, we went for Fish & Chips and the Steuben. The fish & chips were lightly battered (tempura) cod (two pieces) and thin fries. Served with ketchup and tartar sauce. Tasted as fish & chips should taste, light, flaky and not too greasy. Fries were just a little under cooked but close enough not to warrant sending back. The Steuben is their take on a Reuben but with a change for greatness. All the standard items are there but instead of regular corned beef Zero One brine's the corned beef in beer. Yes their beer. It adds a deeper darker red color to the meat but not a strong beer taste. Just a richer corned beef taste. Russian dressing instead of thousand island again to set it apart from the rest. All on marble rye. Instead of fries I went with potato balls. Great choice. Chunky seasoned mashed potatoes made into balls, covered with Panko crumbs and deep fried. You get two with your sandwich, could have eaten four! As I said at the beginning of this review the plan was to have one of their wonderful desserts. Being so hot (101) the Key Lime Cheesecake called to us. Chilled hard with frozen whipped cream on top it was a delightful end to our meal. We plan on returning to try something else such as the monthly Prime Rib special. Hope you enjoy it as we did. read more

Amazing food with amazing service. We had crab cakes for an app and there was such a healthy serving of crab inside and fried to perfection. I had the fish tacos and my gf had the roasted chicken. We ended up sharing because we both liked what each other ordered. All the beers we tried were fantastic as well. Our server, which was actually the bartender at the time was great. She made sure we were taken care of and helped us pick out what to try as far as beers and food. She also gave us a 25% discount because she felt the crab cakes took too long. I didn't think they did, but I wasn't going to argue with the hospitality. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I will for sure be back. read more

TL;DR: Pretty great standard American fare with excellent in house-brewed beer. Definitely try the duck wings appetizer, but I wouldn't recommend a burger unless you like it well done. Zero One Ale House is an establishment that has a lot of potential, but just falls short in the execution of some of their menu items. I started out my lunch with the duck wings appetizer, and I would definitely have to say that it was the best dish served to our party that meal. The duck meat is seasoned with a Thai curry- inspired glaze, and the meat comes off the bone easily. The meat isn't the most tender, but definitely has a distinct duck taste that makes for an interesting and delicious appetizer. Unfortunately, it was down hill from there. Our table shared the brew house burger, cheddar blanket burger, and seared ahi, and it's hard for me to complement any of the dishes. Though the burgers looked amazing, the patties were lackluster, dry, a little crumbly, and under seasoned.They don't ask you how you like your burger cooked here either, implying that they might come as precooked, frozen patties, which is a bit what they tasted like. The pork belly on the brew house burger, which was the main draw of the dish for us, was executed poorly, and added only a thick slab of dry pork topped with a layer of chewy fat and a skin that was hard, but not quite crispy, the cheese burger was a little better, I suppose, if you really like cheese, but again lacked proper execution in my opinion, and would have done better with a thinner cheese circle. Parts of it were extremely thick and not really melted, making for a greasy, chewy mess. The ahi tuna was also a bit of a let down, just because the portion was so tiny. Aside from that and the far over cooked and mushy rice, it was an okay dish at best. The only thing I can compliment are the sweet potato fries, which were seasoned and cooked well, with very crispy exteriors and soft, sweet interiors. Zero One Ale House certainly has the capacity to execute dishes really well and serve some great bar food to accompany their excellent selection of beers. Their menu already looks excellent, and perhaps I just had a bad experience. If they had just executed each dish a little better, I could easily see this being a 5 star location. Came here on a whim and it was an amazing experience to say the least. We started out with the crab cakes a glass of Sauvignon Blanc and the El Chingon (probably misspelled that). My boyfriend out ordered me with the Blackened Seared Ahi Tuna, holy shit it's good. I had The Zero One sandwich, it's so good as well but if you're a foodie, you'll love the tuna. One of those places you have to come back to. Everything is done well, very well. Nothing is overly seasoned and everything tastes great. I always get the pulled pork sliders. The pickled onions and jalapeños really pull everything together. The right amount of spice and acidity to draw back the sweetness of the pulled pork. With sweet potato fries. Which were very crispy. I got the sweet and spicy margarita thing. It was too sweet to my taste, and not enough spice. I normally just grab one of their brews, but I guess it was my mistake to steer away from that. I am heartbroken I can't go here weekly. I went in on a very sleepy very quiet day middle of the afternoon, just a stop on my way to honeymoon and it was very empty I imagine it's more lively in the evening. I like very few beers and I still dream about the Bomb Scare to this day. The fish and chips were light and crispy, not weighed down by frying or grease at all. Truly divine seasoning and quality. Nice clean draft beer house with a micro brewery meets a focused restaurant. This is a great place. Historic old building fully remodeled tastefully for food and beer. The beer selection is not expansive, yet is interesting enough we had all we wanted. They serve some brews that have a high ABV percentage, so beware. The menu is not large or small, and has a just right selection of average American choices. We ordered sandwiches, such as Reuben's, Turkey, and pulled pork. We had regular and sweet potato fries on the side. All was excellent and we enjoyed superior service. I was prepared to give a five star, but an interesting after effect happened. Garlic. I mean a lot of garlic. Not long after we left, garlic oozed our of every pore in our bodies. They must have coated their fries in garlic. That was the only common item between all dishes we had. I cook with garlic, eat garlic, and love garlic. This was a rare event for me to battle garlic after effects. You have been warned. Recommended as long as you don't mind scaring away vampires and potential dates. read more

Ryan, you sir did a wonderful job! Very attentive, polite and helpful. He was so bossy with all his tables, but yet he managed to keep everything running smoothly. I was very impressed with this place, good atmosphere and wonderful service left me wanting to return as soon as possible. This is a very nice local brewery that has pristine feeling to it. You can see the brewery itself through the glass in the room to the right of the entrance. I love breweries and be been to many of them across the United States, but I was quite impressed with this one. San Angelo is relatively very small town and having things like nice breweries is really unheard of. I'm glad that Zero One Ale House is here. Food was absolutely amazing, I had blackened ahi tuna with veggies and I really enjoyed it. For the appetizer I had duck wings and they were bomb! Not a huge fan of curry anything, but these wings weren't overwhelmed with the curry flavor, therefore they were yummy. I seriously enjoyed my meal here. They have brewery tours 2nd Saturday of the month just FYI, it's $10! read more

Thai Curry- Be warned, this is actually pretty SPICY. I know that when people order Thai food or any ethnic food in general it usually ends up being mild. This curry was an exception. Each bite was extremely flavorful and the heat was building, BITE. BY. BITE. I'm glad that there was a nice choice of beers to wash it down. The only complaint that I had was the broccoli was not very fresh, it seemed to be the type that were previous frozen and thawed out, but nevertheless a delicious menu option. Seared Ahi Tuna- I chose this entree since I was in a mood for something light and yea it was light... There wasn't much to it a few pieces of seared tuna, a small portion of rice, cucumbers that were pickled with what seemed like straight rice vinegar, and a small portion of mixed mushrooms and vegetables. The flavor of the vegetables were pretty good, since the mushrooms soaked up the flavors. The ahi tuna was alright, I recommend putting the smallest dab of what seemed like a sesame ginger sauce since it was pretty strong and covered up the natural flavors of the ahi tuna. The cucumbers weren't that pleasant since it just tasted like straight up rice vinegar (maybe add some sugar to mild it out?). I probably wouldn't order it again, since for the price it's not worth it. **Also random recommendation: Try out their different beers and especially the California Pear Ale and the Austin Eastciders Blood Orange Ale (THEY ARE SOOO GOOD). read more

If your not looking for something extravagant I'd either get the buffalo wings or just the bacon burger with a side of fries with both of them. The service is good but I'd definitely ask to sit away from the bar because it can get loud depending on what day it is. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love trying new beers, so I was super excited when my cousin had chosen this place for her bachelorette party. I cannot say enough good things about their rye IPA. Just the right amount of hops with a smooth, slightly bitter finish...so good if you're into IPAs. The food was excellent for brewpub fare. We started out with the calamari and queso...both were excellent and were large portions. I got the Brew House Burger, which was topped with pimento cheese, pork belly, chipotle aioli and greens...all between a pretzel bun, which was amazing. I had the potato balls as my side...just get them...they're fantastic. My fellow diners got the salmon, the Jamaican pork tenderloin, and the half-chicken...everyone enjoyed their meals. We've been here twice. When i suggested it tonight, hubby asked why it's been so long since the last time we went. (we moved here in Jan 2017 and are leaving Nov 2017) Based on our two visits, i know we'll be here again before we leave. We come for the food, not the beer (just not beer drinkers). Food: The first visit, we came for lunch and sat outside because it was a lovely spring day. I had the Sinatra with potato balls. Yes. This is what a sandwich should be. This was conceived with love and put together by someone who cared about the person eating it. I couldn't have made it better myself. Yeah, potato balls. My husband can't remember what he had, but there were no leftovers, so it musta been good. The second visit was a hour after the craft beer festival in front of the restaurant ended. We wanted to sit inside, but it was a Saturday evening and the bar crowd was coming in - super noisy. We sat outside, and despite that the clean-up/break-down crew was clearing out after the festival, it was quieter than inside. While we were there, several families/groups came and waited for tables for dinner. Wide range of clientele, from families with small children to 20-somethings (and older!) out for fun. This time we tried the duck wings, ribeye, and crab cake (and i had a Frisky, sweet but awesome if you like cherries). The duck wings are wonderful! I thought they were juicy and tender; husband thought they were a little over cooked. We both were have preferred a less sweet sauce option, but i'd get them again in a heartbeat. (Brought a couple home, couldn't eat it all) The crab cake was really very good with large chunks of crab and a golden crust. I really can't identify anyway it could be improved, but something was missing. It comes with a large spring mix salad, and together they make a good lunch portion (imo). We both enjoyed the large ribeye: grilled to a perfect medium, fatty around one edge, nicely seasoned and not over salted! The sweet potato fries were really fantastic. Super crisp exterior and sweet creamy interior. Not over slated! No stupid spices like nutmeg or cinnamon to mess them up. The asparagus we well cooked, but because they were larger stems, the bottom thirds were a bit woody and made a nice addition to my breakfast hash the next day. The leftover steak will be thinly sliced on toast with a fried egg on top... cuz that's how i roll with leftovers. Service: The first visit, we had lunch outside and Valencia took care of us. She is amazing and wonderful and a lovely server! Attentive, helpful, subtle, very cool. During our second visit, the bar was much busier and we lost our server a couple of times, but she never left us wanting for anything. No complaints. read more

The duck appetizers are extremely good and they do an excellent medium rare burger and blackened seared ahi tuna! Everything else is very good. I'm not sure I recommend the fried mashed potato balls. It is great they take reservations and very good parking. They REALLY dragged out our stay, I figured they wanted to keep us there longer so the place would look fuller. Seriously, I've never waited that long for the main course to arrive. Something was going on because once we placed the order it took an extremely long time before it arrived. All the food we tried was very good, but the duck wings were the BEST. The blanket cheddar burger is really too much cheese IMHO, get the cheeseburger and add a lot of bacon! The chicken sandwich had everything on the side which is great. The famed fried mashed potato balls weren't great. I expected something great, but I think I would have gone for fries.
