THey don't make places like this anymore. Walk in order at the counter and wait for your food. There are plenty of tables to sit at and it seems as soon as your food is ready, a table opens up. I had the burger and fries, that was pretty good. They sell corn dogs, you never see this, so I had to have one. It was cooked perfect. I normally wouldn't make a big deal out of a corn dog but it was just that good. Finished off with a dipped, soft serve cone this was a good lunch. The building is a little dated. I've heard the commercial for Zesto's on the radio so many times I can't even tell you. I have wanted to eat here for at least a year, but live an hour from Columbia. So today while in town for appointments, I pull up my food finder on my phone and Zesto's is the second choice, so of course I wanted to go! I had the hamburger, fries, slaw and chocolate shake! I am a sucker for a fresh, not frozen burger! Dang, what a great burger, I was impressed. The fries are crinkle cut and were cooked perfect, slaw is sweet southern style and the shake was awesome. My boyfriend had the fried chicken and he loved it, said it was good, old fashioned southern fried chicken. We love trying new places and Zesto's was no exception. We'll be back to try other menu items! Staff was helpful and friendly, I love the old fashioned atmosphere and ordering system. There is a couple picnic tables outside to sit on. read more

Stopped in for the first time and although there were people everywhere and no social distancing in place the food was worth it. Fried chicken wings and fried fish were delicious and hot. The coleslaw was good but my little cup was not full so that was a disappointment because I wanted more. Little while In the wall spot but if you come through you will be glad you did! read more

Delicious food and amazing service! The cook was so on top of things and had our order together by the time we were ready to pay! Can't beat the price for food that tastes that good, either. We were very impressed and will be back! Reminds me of what my husband and I call "gas station food" from back home. Hard to find places that still do good burgers like that anymore! I like Angelo's cheeseburgers and fries. They are good on a fryer at this place. Their fried chicken is good, not too breaded or crusty. The atmosphere is like an old diner--they just dont make places like this anymore! They also have root beer on tap, which can be hard to find in Columbia. Perfect for a root beer float on a hot Columbia day. Be careful of their dipped ice cream cones, the last couple of times the chocolate has been too hot for the ice cream and it makes a melty mess!! If you want a good burger or fried chicken and you like to support a local joint this is a great place to go! Keep in mind this is a different Zesto's than the other Zesto's in Columbia. The other Zesto's are all owned by the same family and are also good. This one is called Angelo's Zesto's to distinguish themselves and is owned separately. At one point in time there were numerous Zesto's all over the country and they were individually owned. There are a few left in operation across the country and Columbia is lucky enough to have a good amount of Zesto's still in operation. read more

Zesto has the best burgers on North Main! Their ordering system is very old-fashioned, but the whole crew works as a team all the time. Their food is delicious. I like that their burgers are made-to-order, and you get a good amount of food at a reasonable price. Their milkshake is also very good, but sometimes it's a bit too sweet. read more

I went to Zesto's today in Columbia, SC on Main Street, and ordered chicken salad sandwich and the sandwich had all sorts of black, burnt stuff all over it. I called told Manager and he didn't offer me any type of money back or free sandwich or anything he just said, "ok, thank you." I mean seriously?? I don't see too much cleaning or anything going on. They uses their bare hands and no gloves either. That's not sanitary at all. I actually saw one of the cooks there put his fingers all in the bread after he went into the back and came back out; when he was preparing the sandwich, he literally smashed his fingers into the bread and the bread had his finger prints in them. I told them I didn't want my sandwich that day when I saw him wipe his hands on the dirty counter then immediately put his fingers in the bread. The food is good but the place needs an upgrade. They really need to start using gloves and don't go to the back while fixing food, no telling what they are doing. read more
