    Steamed dumplings
    Davia N.

3.5. A solid choice in Hillsborough. There are few Chinese restaurants locally and this is the best option here. Very good service. They are grown and fast. The person in line before me was a regular and the cashier already knew his order before coming to the counter. My order was accurate and the price was fair, especially when comparing similar restaurants in Durham. I really liked the Egg drop soup and steamed dumplings. The fried wontons in the subgum dish would have been better separately. They werent crisp and brought down an otherwose good dish. Solid choice for take out.

Very good food, pleasant friendly staff, fast kitchen. I'll definitely be making this one of my regular spots. Really good homemade egg rolls and szechuan beef.

Take out was par for the course in the area. We had wonton soup that were filled with lots of wontons, also egg rolls were good everything was hot and ready to eat. We also had egg foo young nice amount of pork in the pancakes. When we arrived to pick up our order everything was ready to take home. The look of the establishment if just like all the other ones in the area. Everything was clean and neat also it was well lit.

Beware....Ridiculous increase in prices. They charge $16.00 for ten chicken wings. We will never support this business again.

BEWARE OF THE RED PEPPER SYMBOL on the menu!!!! If you love spicy, indulge! If you are sensitive or…read morecan't handle spice, run faaaaar away from these items. Most places put a pepper symbol and it's not spicy at all, but this single red pepper symbol means business!!!!!! I'm sensitive to spice at the moment so eating my food was a bit of a marathon....but in a good way! Think runny nose & sweating hot with tons of delicious flavor. To start, we served wonton strips with a white yum yum type sauce which was a nice surprise. For our app we had the crab puffs (crab ragoons) which of course were not spicy, perfectly crispy and had the right amount of filling. I also ordered a dragon roll which came out after my main entree since the sushi bar was backed up. This actually worked out perfect because the cream cheese in the roll was a great way to calm the spice in my main entree. The mango and crab on the roll were very fresh, and the size was also pretty hefty for being an 8 piece roll. I could have easily made this into a lighter full meal. For my main entree I got the spicy basil with chicken (red pepper sign alert!!!), brown rice and miso soup. The miso soup was good as expected, the brown rice was cooked to perfection and served in a side bowl, and the main entree was plentiful with perfectly cooked veggies & chicken! This dish brought the heat but in a very good way!!! I couldn't get enough of that spicy basil flavor!!!! I only ate half the dish so looking forward to a delicious lunch today! Can't wait to come back and try more of their dishes but while I'm sensitive to spice at the moment I may avoid the pepper symbol for a bit!

Not sure how old the interior photos are on their Yelp reviews but looks better in person. Dude running the place was waiting on tables, answering the phones, taking orders at the front, bossing people around in the back and bringing the food out of the kitchen and serving it HOT! He was a one man show today and killing it! Plus he was so nice. About the food. I ordered an Eggroll and Curry Chicken with fried rice. The eggroll was not the best I've had but it was good. It tasted fresh and no signs of the red pork that you sometimes get (thumbs up).The Curry Chicken sauce was really good. The chicken was nice and tender, the vegetables were fresh and crisp. My only complaint would be to not serve green peppers with the yellow curry sauce. It's my own personal preference because peppers give me heartburn. I will go back for sure to try some other dishes and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for relaxing ambiance and fresh, delicious Chinese cuisine.

We didn't order them this time, but they're definitely on the list for a future visit. Everything we did get was packed with flavor. The crab rangoons and pork dumplings arrived hot and fresh, and the Dan Dan noodles, orange chicken, chicken chow fun, and garlic beef were all very tasty. One of the biggest positives here is consistency of flavor, something that's been surprisingly hard to find with a lot of Chinese takeout spots we've tried in the area. The only real miss for us is that egg foo young isn't on the menu, which my wife loves and always hopes to find. That aside, this is a super solid takeout option for flavorful, authentic, and fresh Chinese food.

I tried a lemon/lime drink that was very tasty and refreshing. The restaurant was super clean. We were seated and orders taken quickly. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. Our food was very delicious and flavorful! Portions were perfect- not huge but not too small either. The waiter talked us into dessert since they make some homemade on site. I tried the tiramisu cake- yum! Prices were about what most places are charging for entrees now. I'll be back!

Good food choices but be ready for a wait!…read more I have been to Wheat twice and tried a variety of the vegetarian dishes. I had the Vegetable Lo Mein, Braised Tofu, Mapo Tofu, Fried Rice and Spring Rolls. The Braised Tofu is not very flavorful, so I would avoid that. The Mapo Tofu is absolutely delicious and has that perfect peppercorn kick. It is spicy, so get a sweet drink on the side if you are not a fan of spice. Vegetable Lo Mein is a large quantity with lots of vegetables. Ask for some sauces on the side because it is bland on its own. On the other hand, the Fried Rice is yummy on its own or with the Mapo Tofu. Spring Rolls are a little oily to my liking but are a good vegetarian appetizer option. I will say that this place is always packed, even on weekdays and sometimes the wait staff forgets about you. It took several rounds to get them to take our order, give the food or even get the check at the end. I will try it out next time at lunch time because maybe it is a little faster. I plan to be back for the Mapo Tofu and Fried Rice
