We saw a movie at The Golden Ticket Ale House Cinema and afterwards popped into Gourmet China across the parking lot for some hot and fresh Chinese food. The food and service is always very good. They have a wide variety on their menu with something for everyone. I always get the homestyle tofu with an extra pop of spice!

I read some reviews here and we sought this location out on Battleground/ New Garden near Trader Joe's around 3 p.m. We got Spring rolls and I got the Mongolian Beef and my wife got Sweet and Sour chicken. Everything was freshly made and delicious. There were take out customers coming in and they have a nice area with tables and booths to eat. Will be back.

Came here alone in a slow HOT day. Food was great! Fresh, savory and spicy. I got the cold noodles to cool off it was great!

Stopped in today for a late lunch. First impression: This isn't your typical Chinese food joint. I was impressed by the visuals. Plus it was super clean. Not sure how old the interior photos are on their Yelp reviews but looks better in person. Dude running the place was waiting on tables, answering the phones, taking orders at the front, bossing people around in the back and bringing the food out of the kitchen and serving it HOT! He was a one man show today and killing it! Plus he was so nice. About the food. I ordered an Eggroll and Curry Chicken with fried rice. The eggroll was not the best I've had but it was good. It tasted fresh and no signs of the red pork that you sometimes get (thumbs up).The Curry Chicken sauce was really good. The chicken was nice and tender, the vegetables were fresh and crisp. My only complaint would be to not serve green peppers with the yellow curry sauce. It's my own personal preference because peppers give me heartburn. I will go back for sure to try some other dishes and I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for relaxing ambiance and fresh, delicious Chinese cuisine.

This is it! This is the place that turned me into craving authentic Chinese food. We've been here a handful of times and I love this place. The service is outstanding, attentive and friendly. I love that even if it is busy, it's still not loud or too much; perfect for a date night. We always order the Sichuan Dumplings and they are outstanding. I usually order a different entree every time, just to try something new. It's all been amazing! Check this place out for to go or dine in.

Finally!!!! A place with an Authentic flavor of GREAT Chinese food!!!! I've been looking for a good Chinese restaurant and I've finally found it! The ambiance is quaint like small NY Chinese spots (WoHop) and the food is simply delicious! The owners (husband and wife) are very gracious and humble. You can tell it's a family business (a little more training is needed for workers helping). Otherwise it's a MUST when you want GREAT Chinese food (non-chain). Unfortunately something didn't agree with my stomach, but my mouth & nose really enjoyed it!

Solid spot for some authentic Chinese/Sichuan dishes. (Also still has the American Chinese dishes for some people..). Good overall and has been consistent throughout the years. Food is fresh and I appreciate the traditional dishes they offer and how they actually taste...Chinese. The spice level on some dishes aren't as spicy as say a New Sichuan but overall still good flavor. There was much more seating pre-Covid days and the limited seating became apparent quick - as the dining room filled up and MANY patrons waiting at the door. My only main gripe would be the service. You get good service and what you need when you do but often you have to call on them yourself to come by. Would recommend overall and can't think of any place better in GSO that carries really good Szechuan dishes.

Hands down, Gourmet China is my all time favorite Chinese restaurant in Greensboro. The food is authentic, not just your standard Americanized Chinese food... I order take out and delivery from here at least once a month. When they are closed, (mainly Tuesdays), I am forced to try other restaurants to see if they match up, but they never do. As for the food, I have some main go to entrees I like to order, but due my recent experiences of trying new restaurants, I have been encouraged to try new dishes at GC rather than just my go tos. This time we tried the sesame chicken in place of the usual orange chicken and the kung pao chicken in place of my diced spicy chicken. Both new dishes were delicious and we have added them to our go tos when ordering from here! Also portion size is huge, I usually have enough leftover for one or two more meals... Bonus! Gourmet China is the bomb, you should try it for yourself!

Perfect for quick take lunch take out. Super fast service !! Dumplings were full of flavor. Hot and sour soup was good. Not my favorite version. Egg roll - was an average egg roll A+ for speediness, and flavor for fast food takeout. I will order in the future!!

The food was absolutely amazing! My family and I came for lunch and ordered sesame chicken, general tao chicken, and crab Rangoon. We also ordered green tea and wonton soup. Everything was great and we will be back again! Side note: They don't have pork dishes

    Moo Goo Gai Pan
    Melody B.

Ordered takeout from here on a Saturday night and was quoted 20 minutes. It was ready on time. I had a spring roll, wonton soup, and moo goo gai pan (with white rice). The spring roll lacked any real flavor. The wonton in the wonton soup was really good, but the broth had an odd aftertaste. My favorite was the moo goo gai pan. The sauce was just the right amount with everything mixed together. It was a lot of food so I had another serving the next day. Honestly, the moo goo gai pan tasted even better as leftovers (which is not a bad thing). The cashier was very friendly. If I'm in Greensboro looking for takeout, I'd try this place again and get different starters.

Best we've had yet in the Triad area by a long shot. First off, the online ordering process is super easy, and the estimated time for pick up was spot on. Highly recommend ordering online beforehand. The place was slammed, packed in like sardines on a Saturday evening. Everyone waiting for orders, and even if you don't order prior, the wait would still be worth it. This place was a well oiled machine, everyone knowing exactly what to do and how to pump out stellar authentic Chinese food quickly and efficiently. Flavorful dishes, authentic spices and sauces, juicy meat, perfectly cooked noodles and rice...you name it, this place does it right. Crispy scallion chicken is the bomb! Each and every other dish we had was top notch, including the pork egg foo young, chicken lo mein, house special fried rice (chicken pork and shrimp). And can't leave out the perfectly fried pork egg rolls...taste overload. Can't wait to come back and try more of this amazing and truly authentic Chinese joint.

Everything is delicious, but make sure you get enough of their scratch made pork egg rolls to have one with you meal, and one for the air fryer to go with your leftovers. They are addicting. Try the crispy scallion chicken, along with your favorites. Golden Wok forever!

In all the years we have been getting takeout, never had an issue with the accuracy of our orders. They have nice sized crispy breaded wings. Their fried wontons and crab rangoons are also good picks. I chuck them in the air fryer because the sweaty containers do make them a bit flat by the time you make it home. Egg rolls are what you expect. Hunan chicken is not very spicy but has a good flavor. Lo meins are good, too. Food cost are up everywhere. 2 combo plates, small order of wings, and wontons set me back $42. The extra $4.00 upcharge on the combo for house lo mein versus chicken was unexpected (dinner combo is already $10.75) but I didn't ask and the girl answering the phone didn't offer so that's on me. Lesson learned. Next time, I will stick with the chicken. If you liked Mr. Wonton back in the 90's you will like them, too. Similar cooking style and portions.

But last night…read moreI needed something quick, ordered on DoorDash, and I'm really glad I gave them a chance. Everything I ordered was actually solid. The lo mein? Chef's kiss. The noodles were cooked perfectly, nice and saucy, and they even offered it spicy--which I've never been offered before. The meat was tender and well-seasoned. Personally, I wouldn't mind a little more cabbage in it, but that's just preference. The fried chicken wings really surprised me. Usually I end up throwing wings in the air fryer to crisp them up more--but not these. They were already crispy, fresh, and flavorful straight out the container. Now let me talk about the sweet and sour chicken... I've NEVER been a fan. I always thought it looked too breaded and soggy, so I avoided it for years. When I opened my order and realized that's what I got, I was low-key annoyed but decided to try it anyway. And wow--that ended up being my favorite item. The sauce was perfect, and once I dipped it myself, it completely changed my mind about sweet and sour chicken. The soup was also really good--super flavorful with that rich broth and those sesame oil "gold spots" on top (you know it's good when you see that). The only thing I wasn't big on was the plain fried rice--but that's more of a personal preference since I usually don't go for plain fried rice anyway. Next time I'll try the house fried rice. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised. This was a great experience, especially for a last-minute order. I'll definitely be ordering again--and next time I'll come back with pictures because this was a spur-of-the-moment decision. China Cafe, you proved me wrong
