ROUGH. this whole experience. Scheduled over $2000 worth of services. Best Remote start, rhino lining, full undercoating and tint. Gave me a quote and when we finally agreed on a price, he ran through what was included, and there was an additional item that I had decided to not do.... And instead of the bill being lower after that, he told me that he had actually just thrown that in for free and the bill wouldn't be any cheaper.... Needless to say, I told him that he could still keep that service on there then if removing it wasn't lowering my final price. a wash and wax was also thrown in for "free". When dropping off my truck, I included on the key drop envelope, the wash and wax just as a reminder since I didn't see it on the final printout. Had to reach out the following afternoon to see where my truck stood as far as being completed since I live over an hour away and needed to know in advance before pick up. He then states that he was just about to call me that his tech called in sick and he wasn't able to perform half of the services. We went back-and-forth with how to accommodate this since I live far enough away and it's hard for me to leave my vehicle and someone to drop me off or pick me up. Definitely frustrating that he waited so long to let me know this information. I decided I was able to leave my truck an extra night but was asking if it could be done by a certain time the next afternoon so I could accommodate Work, child pick up and getting a ride. He told me he would text me in the morning. By 922a I sent a message and never heard a reply. Finally by 1230p I called and he stated the truck was done. This would have been nice to know so I could have been on my way. When I arrived they had forgotten my brow tint and did not wash and wax. They did end up refunding the tint price. Also come to find out that the upgraded remote start requires a paid app to actually use the benefits of starting it from your phone. This is something that was never mentioned in the details of this sale. Not to mention they advise you not to use the unlock and lock Part of the remote start fob because if used incorrectly, it can put your vehicle in valet mode which only they can unlock. Insane. Due to the late notice of pick up and issues I first saw, I was in a rush to get my child from school, and didn't have tome to look everything else over unfortunately ... The bed liner will not last long. There are bubbles everywhere and its clearly a thin coat as you can see my white truck paint through it in some areas. Not to mention the overspray on the truck is everywhere. What an experience to say the least... such an expensive day for me with minimal satisfaction is disheartening. Now I have to go back yearly for my undercoat and honestly I do not want to nor do I trust them. I definitely understand things happen and understaffing is a real thing everywhere... however how things were handled definitely have opportunities. These services should've been flawless with all the hurdles we encountered just to get them done. I highly recommend vetting out other places. read more

My dad just left Ziebart (6:30 pm) after he had a 10:30 am appointment today. It was for a routine service. They came and told him that for $64.99 they would touch up a couple of spots and it won't take too long they just had to get the paint from the dealer. He was fine with waiting a bit longer. He went to pay once the car was ready (8 hours later) and they told him it was $6499.00 plus tax! This is to touch up a couple of little spots? My dad is a cancer survivor and had a stroke, and 10 surgeries for various things. He doesn't move well but he remembers everything and can hold a conversation just fine. I talked to him and he said they never said hundred, or thousand. Just $64.99 for a few touch ups. My dad keeps the car in immaculate condition already. Then to top it all off, they wouldn't release the car till he paid. He does not have that kind of money. He is on disability with a fixed income. That is the only car for he and my mom. He had to sign a finance form for them to release the car back to him. They completely scammed him out of 7k. Stay away from this place! read more

I made my appointment several months before my appointment on 10/14/25. I continued to get reminders via text, email and snail mail suggesting I make an appointment so as not to lose m warranty. I called twice and spoke to someone both times with them confirming I had the appointment with the explanation that the reminders come from corporate. I walked in at 8 am for my scheduled appointment. The woman at the desk proceeded to say that they didn't have my appointment in the computer. I live in Virginia Beach now. I come up specifically during the timeframe in order to keep my warranty. She said it probably was just not saved. I told her I called twice, she said don't worry. It's on the schedule now and we will honor your appointment. No call about the scratches, progress, etc. I returned around 1:30 pm and they said it would be done around 3 pm. 3 pm came and went. I walked out in the show room and my car was parked out front apparently was finished. After the woman found the man that had my keys, I was good to go. I drove away. But upon inspection, I noticed rust colored spots on the entire car and windows. I brought it back to ask about them. I was told that it was a clay substance and it would wash off. I can't wash the car until 7 days. The service and concern is not as good as it was when I first brought my car in. This is the 3rd year. I hope it gets better. read more

How long does Ziebart rust proofing last? Our rust warranty includes unlimited mileage and coverage against road salt, sand, and (normal) road debris. The reason Ziebart can exceed these coverages is because we reapply (as needed) our protection to the vehicle every year. The above is from their website. We bought a new 2016 truck and have had it Ziebarted every year. Last year rust started coming through one of the wheel wells. When we inquired about the warranty we were told even though we continued to get it Ziebarted every year it would not qualify for the warranty because we actutally bought the new 2016 truck in January of 2017 and they were considering it a used vehicle. Jim, the manager in Canandaigua, said he would try and get them to reconsider and then never got back to us! The rust is horrific! I went to two body shops and was told by both that Ziebart causes more problems because the product holds in moisture and rust can develop under their coating. Our 2016 truck is rarely driven and has only just over 30,000 miles! We've owned this car for 8 years when we saw the rust begin to penetrate from the inside of the wheel well to the exterior! read more

I got a remote starter put in and it from the time i got it home when using the starter sounds the horn and alarm for 30 to 60 seconds, i called to make an appointment for them to fix it the lady i spoke to was understanding and agreed it was an issue, the day of the appointment the staff member i spoke to seemed agitated i wanted the error fixed they kept the car less than an hour and told me it was the buttons on the actual key being used to lock the car causing it so just use the fob for the starter to lock and unlock, i followed these instructions and yet the issue persists alerting the whole block randomly when i start my vehicle and given how it was handled last time i went for them to fix this issue i have no inclination to return for a second attempt for this to be fixed or for any future business and as such can not recommend this as a place to go for your vehicle. the cost was $300 for an incomplete job. read more

They talked me into buying ceramic coating so each year i have to drive it an hour, leave it all day or sit there for four or more hours. I asked this last time what they did to my car when i brought it up. They said they clay bar it then shine it. I asked why it took so long and was told "we do 40-50 cars a day" So why can't you just do my car then give it to me, what takes 4 hours????? But this last time i took it up. Someone came out and looked at it. He pointed out some pine sap on the car and asked if thats what it was...i affirmed it. (It had been parked under a pine tree for a short time so had a few spots of it.) I picked it up when they said it was done and am wondering what they did do....all the pine sap spots were still on the car. I paid for this undercoating package at Hoselton, because they force it down your throat when you purchase a new vehicle. This is a 2018 Tacoma. This is the job I just received at this location for my warranty re-coat. The sales guy is rude and pushy and tried to sell me a bunch of overpriced coating and paint packages when I dropped my truck off. when I declined multiple times he pushed my keys back to me and said I didn't need the warranty work done. He kept trying to push financing on me. After 4 hours this is what came back to me. They are a joke and a big waste of money. If I could give zero stars I would. We have been happy with our annual Ziebart undercoating, and have maintained it for years. This year, when we had it undercoated, we decided to have them detail the interior of our car as well, as an add on service. The interior detail cost was $250.00. When we picked up the car a day after the service was completed, the rugs were still VERY wet, as were the seats, in fact, they covered the driver's seat with plastic so that my husband could drive the car home. Once home, we noticed that the car was not meticulously cleaned. Under the seats was not vacuumed, there were black grease fingerprints on the roof liner in three different locations, (that did NOT exist before leaving it with the company) and the windows were all streaky. Honestly, I have done a far better job of detailing the car myself at home. If you need your car detailed, please take it elsewhere. read more

First let me say, that we have been going to Ziebart in Canandaigua for probably over 12 years. We've had them do the rust protection (spraying in the doors and under the hood), undercoating and window tinting on several different vehicles. The first 4 years of ownership on my current truck, they continued to try to schedule my annual check-up for my previous truck even though I constantly requested that they change my information. Not a big deal. Their push for undercoating and the rust proofing...well I couldn't tell you the last time they popped the plugs to spray in the doors. I got curious on whether or not they even did this after the first application so I marked the plugs. None of the plugs have been touched in years on that truck or my wife's SUV. WHAT?!?! Yeah, "Us or rust" my @ss. The latest brings me to our son's car. Kid worked hard all summer to save for gas money and other things when he's not going away to college full time. Just before he went back, he wanted Ziebart to tint the windows. We got the car back with broken trim pieces and bubbles in the tint that they swore would go away. They promised to reimburse us for the broken trim and insisted that we let them know if the bubbles didn't go away. Never got reimbursed and most of the bubbles are still there. The manager initially lied to me about the back window saying it was previously tinted clear and that it wasn't their fault the bubbles were on the back window. Well if they knew the other tint was there why didn't they call us to see what we wanted done! He also said it would take 3 hours to remove it and the glue!! They never reached out to me to tell me this and supposedly tinted over it. He told us to buy the trim and that he would be sure to reimburse us. He then pointed out bubbles in 2 side windows and the strip across the top of the windshield. Pleaded with me that he would fix them (and not the back window) when my son came home for the long weekend. One week before coming home, my son emailed this manager with a copy of the receipt for the trim and the copy he previously gave us telling us that he would reimburse us for the trim and redo the 3 windows (again, not the back window that was also the problem). I dropped my son's car off Saturday morning and AGAIN went over everything with the same manager. This time he tells me that they ARE redoing the back the window and that they have a solvent that removes the glue quickly and that it shouldn't be a problem!! Unbelievable, 4 weeks prior he's telling me that it'll take 3 hours just remove the glue from the back window! Picked the car up. The strip across the windshield was never touched...I know this because I took a picture of the oil change sticker and it wasn't moved! Guess what. No check or anything for the reimbursement of the trim piece either. And NOW that same trim piece on the other side is completely missing!! And of course, the manager was gone for the day AGAIN. BUT good thing the assistant manager was there to waste more of my time and feed me more lies. "I'll talk to the manager on Monday morning and get back to you". Nothing from him Monday morning of course. I had to reach out to him. Oh and they offered my son a "free complete car detail". That must mean, Joe Shmo in the back hits it with the hose on the way out and leaves water spots all over the car. Good job! Always trying to sell you services that probably never even happen to begin with. UPDATE: After (I don't even know how many attempts at this point) we called yet again. Manager did reimburse us for the broken trim pieces and a little bit more for gas money for our son. Still not worth the hassle. I'm just done with this place. Should not have to work this much for something so simple. UPDATE 2: Ok SO now the manager really been trying to make things right with us. It's unfortunate that it's because of this review. BUT I do truly appreciate them for doing that. This is how things were when we first started going to them and really has made us continue bringing our vehicles there. Had the inside of my car done before going on a trip and my car smelt like MOLD. The seats were not dry. I called and spoke with a manager who said he will make it right when I returned. I took it back in to get "redone" however all they did was spray a very strong spray on my seats that gave me a headache for 2 weeks. Mold smell has still not gone away. We recently took our car in for the annual rust protection and this time we asked to have the car detailed while it was in there. We noticed after that whatever they cleaned the gage (speedometer) window with etched the plastic. Now it is hard to see any of the gages. They claimed there was nothing they could do to fix it. My wife's vehicle we also bring here and after we get hers back i've looked underneath to see ne black sprayed application. My vehicle was not touched. Not good at all. We paid 300 dollars for a very poorly done detailing. Very fast talking sales staff and very poor quality. When I questioned the dirty door jams was told it's "normal" not to clean. What? Also gum I mean actual gum was on the drivers side door stuck and smeared. Like you did not think I'd noticed that? Windows inside not done, armor all inside not done etc. very poor work. After bringing to attention of management not even an attempt to service recovery. Horrible experience. Do not recommend. See attached pictures. Tried to follow up with the customer service as suggested. Guess what happened? Got a voice mail and a suggestion to send an email. After 72hours no reply. Folks stay clear of this business. Got a Groupon for detailing, interior and exterior. I gor there and initially was asked how much I spent on the Groupon - which was $50, supposedly 75% off services. I was offered a vacuum and hand wash. I asked for the services specifically included in the Groupon, and he said "well that changes regularly so I'm not sure what the offer included." How about your best work with the hopes of me coming back and paying full price because I am so impressed with your professionalism? That's not what the folks at Canandaigua Ziebart understand the purpose of a Groupon to be, clearly. Car was washed, but not with the clay bar treatment as indicated in the Groupon, as there were numerous places where dirt and grime were still apparent. The interior was vacuumed and the dash dressed, but they didn't clean the cup holders or the floor mats. I specifically asked for the aeats to be shampooed, and that was also skipped. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't return. They had the opportunity to gain a new customer, instead will now get this same review listed in as many places as possible on the web to warn people of the lack of work ethic. read more

Paid to get my 2019 Mazda CX-9 detailed. When I dropped my car off, the people were very nice. The person I booked my appt with was very nice also. However, I was not satisfied with the service. I Dropped my car off at 9am and it was ready about 3 hours later. This is my first detail, but I assume that's good timing. When I picked up my car, the outside looked clean and nice. Inside, however, I could have went and paid for an expensive car wash. I assumed with detailing, they would pay attention to areas like the console, to clean out dust and dirt. It looked to just be wiped down. It did not look/smell like my car has been shampooed. Especially the rear/trunk of my car. I'm not sure what they used, but there was also damage to the rear seat that resulted in discoloring. When I opened my doors, they were still dusty and dirty. They did not roll down the windows to clean the top of them. I was interested in purchasing additional services like rust protection but after seeing how they did the detailing on a new customer, I decided against it. When it comes to things like these, it's more of a hassle to complain and go back to get it done right. Id rather leave a review and take my money elsewhere. Hopefully I got the "free" window treatment they said I would get for paying in advance. In hindsight, maybe that wasn't such a good idea. read more

Extremely unsatisfied. I just had my truck detailed inside and out and they did a terrible job. I went in for my annual check and a curtesy interior detail since they did such a poor job last time. I also paid for an exterior detail. What a terrible job. I will never go back. They did not vacuum the seats (which I paid for fabric protection on) and found bird dropping on the hood and grill. My experience with Ziebart Canandaigua was positive. Connor Moore fully explained the detailing service and kept me informed during the day they had my car. I had one issue that prevented a fifth star. Connor specifically requested extraction (shampoo) of the seats in his paperwork but when I picked it up the seats had not been done. However, He immediately took the vehicle back to the service area and returned it in about 15 minutes with the extraction completed. The car and the seats look great! read more

Called to make an appointment for a yearly rustproofing check. Was told it would take two hours. At arrival for the appointment, I was informed it would take four hours. Went for a long walk and lunch and was back in four hours. Then, they said it will take six hours. Will make me have to cancel important business meetings after taking most of the day for this. If they had been honest and told me six hours. Note: The car as it turned out was ready in four hours so I was able to make my appointment. Just plan on four to six hours from now on regardless of what they say. Better to drop it off and leave it for the day. I increased my rating from one to three because I believe they knew I was pi**ed and finished it quickly for me. read more

Ziebart had my car for well over 24 hours. Normally they wash the car prior to coating the bottom since you cant wash your car for about a week. When I went to pick up my vehicle it was clear that they didn't wash my car and multiple birds pooped on it as well. When we questioned why they didn't wash it they said "Well we don't really have to. But you can come back and we will wash it for you I guess." I turned down the offer because this location is a 45 min drive and not worth it for a simple wash that can be done else where. It's just annoying that they said they would wash it and never did. Last year I saw on Groupon that they had a great deal going with adding window tint to a car for a very reasonable price. That day went and passed I was satisfied with the work they had done back then. So I thought why not have them remove the tint on the front 2 windows to make my car less likely to get pulled over for illegal tint. Fast forward to today ,I just had my car serviced at the ziebart in canandaguia to remove the tint from my front 2 windows. The work that was done was satisfactory, my bigger issue and concern is with the fact that my car was smoked in. My girlfriend and myself both are non smokers and both established that there was a very strong cigarette odor. That is completely unacceptable, and is also why this review I will be writing has shifted from a pleasant experience to a unsatisfied. I hope going forward there is either a policy implemented or one that is being informed about this happening. In closing I'd like to think that this was a 1 time thing and I just happened to be the unlucky customer that this had happened to. But realistically I don't think that's the case.
