I used Ziggy Cleaning service and was really disappointed. The first time the person came 45 minutes late. The second time she left all of the windows in my house unlocked, which I called about. Very disappointing and made me feel like it was a setup to come back and do something later. The last time the cleaner showed up almost 2 hours late via Uber and smelled like a distillery. I called Ziggy and he claimed it was the medicine for her liver and that she had car trouble on the way to clean. I had to have her dust again because there was dust every where after she claimed to be done. She used my bathroom and it smelled so horrible I had to burn a candle. The next time they were to return, no one showed up. Upon reaching out to Ziggy he claimed their schedule was behind and he would be here in two weeks. Needless to say, no one ever showed up. This is totally unprofessional and isn't how you conduct business. Stay away from them by any means necessary. read more

Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend this service if you want your home cleaned. If your after a chat and a house guests that requires a multitude of coffee and a made lunch well Leon's your man! To paint a picture Leon arrived at my home at 10am by 1:30 am he'd had 4-5 cups of coffee, requested a made lunch specifically a salad sandwich but when I explained I don't have any bread he continued to request crackers and salad. It was a constant stress for me with my livestock that had just had babies to have his dog sitting in the car with the window wide open. He progressed to tell me that he had given me a new sink unfortunately sadly I believe his one eye which he explained in great detail to me is likely impacting his ability to see that infact it's not clean to a standard level! By 1pm he hadn't even left the kitchen which is surprising as it still had not even had benches cleaned. I let him know I had meetings and children to collect to which he packed up all his things and said I'll just vacuum and mop to which I agreed however once he got the vacc and mop out he only did the kitchen area....he told me because I have kids they will slip if he does any other area. He progressed to tell me his whole life history including how men only think 8inches below the belt, how my husband should insert his penis into my vagina so that we can conceive a girl, how his father raped a 15yr old on his wedding night, how when he holds his porky penis when going to my toilet he could see a mark!!! I paid Leon $100 to which he informed me that I had to pay cash so that he didn't need to tell scomo unfortunate for me as I'm a ndis client needing to show invoices. Leon left only to enter into my home 3 more times without leaving by the third time I locked the door to which he started banging on the door and the windows (I didn't hear him as I was vacuuming!!!!) then he started screaming my name and said I had to come out and open the gate for him to which I declined by now I was seriously considering calling the police as the whole experience was frightening to me especially as I had 2 small children with me. I would never ever ever recommend this service and would encourage all women to have a man home present. I would like to add he asked me numerous times where my husband was even running out of the house while I was accepting a delivery from someone asking if he was my husband which I found bizarre. read more

Very difficult communicating with this team. I'm selling my house and my realtor recommended them. When I was preparing to list the house I told them I needed it cleaned on a certain Tuesday. They said that Grace had to come see the house to properly provide a quote. She came out 3 days later On Monday, toured the house and then said the following Saturday was the soonest. They totally disregarded my initial request so I had to clean it myself. Fast forward a month later when the house was sold. I reached out again with plenty of notice. They said Grace had to come out again to see the house. Even though I told them she had been out a month earlier.... Anyway, I was out of town so I asked my realtor to get involved. Yes she had to meet Grace at the house again! Secured the Sunday date and provided a quote of $45/hr, min 4 hours. They had mentioned it would take all day. It's a 4br 3 story empty house. So days before our committed date they tried to bag on the Sunday and get me to agree to Saturday. I was still packing on Saturday so that wouldn't work. So Sunday comes and two ladies come to clean. They were there promptly at 8am and worked til 12. Ok, that's $45 x 2 people x 4 hrs. Should be $360. They charged me $500.....telling me that was the agreed upon price. I like to tip usually and I got things to do so I cave. After they left I noticed that my utility room floor wasn't washed or even vacuumed. I took w wet paper towel and wiped it and it was filthy. I did the same for the kitchen and other hardwood floors. Same thing. I texted Ziggy to find out what's going on with that and the additional charges. He contacted the ladies and told me they said they washed the floors and the price was what was quoted. I had to leave because the final walkthrough was scheduled but I told my realtor to double check when she got there. Make sure I wasn't crazy. She brought her swiffer and confirmed the floors were filthy. Ziggy took zero responsibility for any of this. All I could do as I leave on to my next venture is make sure other customers know what they are getting in to. Do NOT hire these guys. They take advantage and so shotty work. read more

My parents used Ziggy for Years back in around 1999 and they always did a good job. I bought my own house so of course I called Ziggy and I was so disappointed I wanted to put a stop payment on the check they were so horrible. He sent me 2 elderly women around 70 years old who had trouble getting up and down the stairs and did I feel horrible! They did a half ass job and they did not understand or speak a lick of English so while I tried to explain to them what cleaners to use on what they didn't listen because the language barrier. He assured me on the phone they would speak English. I have since found an amazing cleaning company for half the price!! He charged me $275 for a 2500 sq ft house but I only wanted downstairs cleaned and 2 bathrooms upstairs cleaned and still $275 which is very high!! I have used Ziggy's for years and finally had to call it quits. Everyday for the past week, the Ziggy's owner tells me "they're coming at 6pm" for my house cleaning. Everyday, they have ditched their appointment. He treats his missed appointments with a sheepish-shrug demeanor and I really don't think he cares. Also, there is only 1 cleaning crew of Ziggy's (Maria and Teresa) that I trusted over the years. So many times, the other girls really didn't do a good job (such as missing things like a bathtub, or vacuuming a bedroom). So although Maria and Teresa were wonderful girls, I won't be using again because they ditch their appointments and the owner literally doesn't care. read more

After I have posted my first review they tried to force me to delete it, saying it is not true. "Grace M." who posted two 5-star reviews as Ziggys' customer started writing messages to me on behalf of Ziggy's cleaning service. I reported her profile and those messages to Yelp's customer service and they removed her reviews from Ziggy's page. Everyone can check it in "Not recommended reviews" on the bottom of their page. I've used Ziggys twice. I only get a cleaning service about 2-3 times a year to get a good deep cleaning. Every time they have left my house, I've been extremely happy with the quality of the job they have done. I definitely recommend Ziggys. Why did I give them 4 stars instead of 5 then? They showed up 1 hour late and when the girls arrived, they knocked and walked right into my house without me even answering. I have been a loyal every other week customer for over 15 years. Last week they canceled on me and asked to come this Friday. I was a bit annoyed, but I figured i'd give them some grace, and I said, "Sure." Last night after a horribly stressful week, I picked up the whole house Thursday night in preparation for a Friday cleaning (since I was canceled on the week before). Last minute, they told me they wouldn't be to my house until 6:30 pm! Then, cancelled altogether. This is due to taking other jobs of people who are moving and are paying more. If this is how loyal, 15 year old customers are treated, I obviously would not recommend them. I also heard the company never gave tips I put on a check to the maids. The absolute worst cleaning service I have ever used! They quoted me higher than everyone else I called, but I ended up choosing them because the Sales Rep claimed they would do an immaculate job. I had a large party coming up and I needed everything to look its best. I ended up cleaning again after they left because they missed shelves, toilets, windows, and behind all my small appliances in my kitchen. They also broke my picture frame (which they did not mention to me). I paid for 4.5 hours for 2 ladies and they only cleaned for 3.5 - 4 hours. When I called to complain they guy just told me "Well, my cleaning ladies say they were there longer so there's nothing I can do." They also didn't reimburse me for my broken frame. After my complaint the manager wanted to speak with his employees and he said he would get back to me the next day, he never did. I am very pleased with the results I got from Ziggy's. I called them after a different cleaner I was referred to, didn't call or show up when scheduled. I called Ziggy's and sent out Kinga the next day to clean. She did a great job, everything looks fantastic and the price was reasonable. My only critique for improvement would be that they would offer loading/unloading dishes and organizing. I have a huge vat of shoes that I was hoping could be organized and dishes that just needed loaded into the washer and I was told they don't do that - at 8.5 months pregnant, it took all my energy to do those two items. I would still call them again and will be using them to help tidy up the house when the baby arrives. read more

Just moving in to a new home, I really wanted to get things off to a good start. The hard part was the closing and moving day were only one day apart, so the idea of getting the place cleaned was fading. Being a fan of Yelp, I looked up some companies, and Ziggy's was most responsive in getting back to me in less than an hour. I explained my situation, as well as my request and time constraint. Ziggy arranged for Grace to come over and look at my new home during my walk through. Grace was prompt and able to look around on her own to get ideas, and determine pricing. After the walk through we exchanged notes and she made sure all of my needs were met and determined a fair price. I later called Ziggy to confirm the following morning, and Grace would meet us at the house to get the key after closing. As you can tell, I was putting a lot of faith in to someone I never met before, in a new town, and a business with whom I had no previous reference other than Yelp. Ziggy's promised to be there at 730 the day we were to move, and I called Grace at 800am, just to be sure. She advised me everything was fine, and we talked about a few open items. The entire time both Grace and Ziggy provided excellent communication, and we most responsive. Meanwhile, back at the old house the move continued, boxes everywhere, we loaded the truck and made it to Naperville at 230p, just as Grace and crew were finishing up. Walking through the house you could immediately smell "clean". All of the items we talked about were done as promised, and there were "no surprises" (another plus). Payment was made as quoted with no overage fees or surprises (cash or check only no cc). So, what do I think? Sadly all too often getting the most basics in customer service is rare. I was most surprised with Ziggy's as they exceeded my expectations. -Great customer service -prompt, courteous return of emails and calls -discussing needs and making them work for me, and at my schedule -exceeding expectations -fairly priced to the value and quality of service received. I have been using Ziggy's Cleaning Service for about 5 years now. They always show up and the staff does a wonderful job. I completely trust them to be in my house. It is nice to come home after work and find all the rooms tidy and clean. They even change our bed linens and load the dishwasher. My stove and microwave are spotless! Yes, I agree that sometimes they show up later than expected but I have found that if I make an appointment for the morning, there are no problems. We hired Ziggy's after major renovations in our home. They were extremely responsive to my original inquiry and worked around my schedule to come give an estimate. They gave the maximum possible amount, but added that the charge would be less if it didn't take as long. Full window cleaning was also recommended given all the dust, etc from the rehab. When I came home the day of the cleaning, I could not believe it was the same house. Every nook and cranny was cleaned - walls, doors, woodwork all wiped down. Floors were amazing, light fixtures cleaned very carefully. All garbage was emptied and the whole crew was hard at work. They finished an hour ahead of schedule, so it was less than originally thought. The windows made a HUGE difference, and we were so glad we opted for the additional service. The only reason I gave them a 4 - the week of the cleaning, I suddenly received a phone call asking to switch the day/time for the window crew, which I agreed to. But then they didn't show up by an hour past the new time. I called and said it wouldn't work now. We were able to get it back to the original time (which made me wonder why we had to switch it in the first place?) The actual work product though, was everything I was hoping for. And each of the ladies were clearly so proud of their work and anxious to show me what had been done in each room. I would now like to trial them for a standard monthly cleaning service - hopefully I will be as pleased. read more

Worst customer service ever! This is my first review I've ever written on yelp. I felt that I needed to write something so that others can learn from my experience with this company. I called Ziggys and made an appointment for a first-time clean which would then turn into a every 2 week clean. We were having our wedding in our backyard and needed the house cleaned a day or two before the event. When I first called it almost sounded that I woke the man answering up. I explained when I needed them to come and got a quote over the phone that seemed reasonable. I made the appointment for Thursday before my Saturday wedding. When I made appointment he told me to call if I needed to change or cancel. I was busy doing wedding things and did not check my voicemail messages, apparently they had called and left a message stating to call them if I still wanted them to come. Of course I still needed them to come! That's why I made the appointment! I was doing busy wedding things and I didn't check my messages and Thursday morning rolls around and they still aren't here. I called to see when they were coming and The guy (again, sounded like I woke him up) said that they called to confirm and I never called back. I apologized and stated that I have been very busy and did not get a chance to check my voicemail but would they be able to come soon. He rudely stated that no he lives too far and they would now not be coming. I was so upset, it was the way that he told me and said it "wasn't his problem", never apologized and just shrugged it off like another reviewer stated. Completely unprofessional. I understand that they probably get a lot of cancellations, but when someone scheduled an appointment if they don't want to just chance making the trip out for the cancellation then they could have tried to call me again that morning. I told the guy that I had read some more things like this on their reviews and I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. I told him that this was an unusual circumstance and that I felt stuck because my wedding was Saturday. Again he just shrugged it off and was actually somewhat mean on the phone. I did tell him I would happily write my review to warn others like I had been warned but ignored. Although it could be argued that I should have called to confirm (even though I've never had to confirm an appointment that I've made already), I would not use this company just based on their lack of professionalism. If I could give zero stars for Ziggy's Cleaning Service I certainly would. I had searched Yelp for a good cleaning service for my parents house in Lisle. They are getting up there in years, and very sadly my dear Mom is dying of cancer. Lots of family/friends are stopping by and (bless her) she was concerned about the place being clean, plus we wanted to hook Dad up with a cleaning service for after she passes. Anyway, Ziggy's came to "clean," and charged Dad $70 for a 700 square foot cottage house, with one bath and a galley kitchen--and they only had to clean two bedrooms because Mom was resting in the master. My sisters and I arrived a few days later and couldn't believe anyone had been here to clean, let alone a professional service. There was so much dust on the lamp bases, tops of fans, venetian blinds, etc that you could write a mathmatical equation; they were clearly not touched. There were dead moths/bugs, spider webs, etc in every corner where they hadn't bothered to extend the vacuum cleaner, and the carpet underneath and all around where my parents keep their firewood was full of wood chips/dust/bark, etc. We sisters immediately vacuumed ourselves and basically filled the can with all the dust and dirt--I can't believe anyone from Ziggy's vacuumed. The worst was Ziggy himself when I called to complain and demand Dad's money back. He tried to tell me all the dust, dead bugs, spider webs, etc magically appeared in the few days since his "team" had been there; though I should have mentioned it's July and we're certainly not jiggling the firewood basin around too much. I invited him to come on over so he could write his name in the dust on the window sills and the shelves of Mom's curio cases; he said he would look into the matter and get back to me in five minutes. Well, that was five days ago. Still waiting for that call! SO, if you want a cleaning service that cleans worse than your fifth grader, taking advantage of a terrible family situation, and a businessman who tells you get back to you in five minutes after you call him hopping mad with a very legitimate complaint an never does, Ziggy's for you! To repeat the person before me, Ziggy's sucks and I imagine it was Ziggy's family or the man himself that wrote the previous glowing reviews. read more

Worst experience of my life. Scheduled start time was 10-11 am. They called & pushed it back to 1:15/1:30. At 1:15 they called to say it'd be 2:45, no later than 3:00. They didn't show until 3:20. They didn't start cleaning until 3:37 when I left. Through a translator on the phone I asked them how long it's would take because it's only 800 sq ft with no furniture, shelving etc. All that needed to be done was sweep, mop, clean bathroom & fridge. They said 3 hours which I said was absurd it should only take 1-1.5 hours with 2 people. I left, came back in an hour expecting them to have accomplished quite a bit. Instead, I came back to only the bathroom being done. 1 girl was cleaning the refrigerator the other was on the back porch smoking with a friend (not a cleaner). She heard me open the door, ran in, put her cigarette out then ran upstairs to sweep. I'm convinced she hadn't done anything yet. Since we didn't speak the same language I tried to use hand motions telling them that time was up and I wanted them to leave. I'm not paying them to hang out with friends and smoke. They refused to make eye contact and kept cleaning. I was pointing to the door and doing the stop sign and pointing to my watch. It took me 15 min to get them out of my house. In that 15 min thy swept & mopped which begs the question why would it have taken 3 hours??? I told them I was quoted 85/hr so that's all they're getting. They told me it would be $155 for 1.5 hours. I couldn't believe they were trying to swindle me into paying them to smoke. I gave them $100.00 because I just wanted them to leave. They also only take cash so I don't think it's a legit company. Ziggy has been cleaning my home since February i used ziggy for my weekly cleaning he had initially sent me a team of two girls of which one of the ladies had health issues in June hence he made changes in the crew I told him I wasn't satisfied with the quality of work and hence asked him to replace one of the maids that he was sending. He sent my regular maid and along with sent a maid that wasn't even his regular employee she was hired on contract basis for that day. This lady showed up by 7.40 am instead of 8.00 brought tremendous attitude she demanded brand new scotch towel roll she would simply not accept used roll didnt bother to follow the routine with the regular maid. Within the first 15 minutes she was intolerant and I had to ask her to leave. I called Ziggy he didn't answer, I text him by then this maid already updated him with the information he calls me back and tells me why did I behave badly with the maid and the fact that I am paying him only $125 per week ( as if that is less for 2.15 hrs) and he had the audacity to tell that she was the best maid that he had and I should have had her finish the work without raising a problem. Every thing that the service provider had to do was expected from the customer. I wasn't surprised at the maids behavior as much as I was shocked to hear from an owner his poor service attitude certainly reflected on his crew. Did a great job but was not clear on the price. I was quoted $125 for 4 hours over the phone. I was specifically told they may send one or two cleaners, but the price would remain the same. They were here for 3 hours and charged $150. They said it was because there were two girls. Called and spoke to Ziggy who said they were there for a total of 6 hours. Not very predictable. Use to be consistently good and dependable a few years ago like 2008 to 2010 but last few years their service has gone down terribly. He takes up more clients than he can handle and his crew is over worked and tired when they arrive at your house. Some of his crew are illegal residents in USA and work like slaves for him and live at his mercy. Not very comfortable with that as well. He charges way more than his competitors. read more

Ziggy's came to clean our house before we moved in. With the exception of arriving an hour and a half late to the job, they did great! Everything looked sparkling and clean when they finished. They did manage to finish an hour before the quoted time which was wonderful and made up for the fact that they were late. Highly recommend Ziggy's for a good, thorough cleaning! read more

Extremely disappointing service. I hired Ziggy's service for a move in cleaning. I talked to the owner Ziggy and explained him that I wanted a deep cleaning before I move in to the new house. The two Polish ladies came 1 hr late and did not speak English. They cleaned for 3 hrs and told me that they were done so I took a walkthrough and was surprised to see that the entire kitchen counter including the island had not been even wiped off. There was dried out soap in the sink and dirt/ smudges on the counter tops. All the cabinets of the house were all lightly dusted witht a dry cloth and had marks inside out. For instance the bathroom ones had toothpaste marks and the laundry room cabinets had liquid detergent dried out in them. There were so many cobwebs around that they did not clean. I took the walkthrough with the 2 ladies and kept telling them of these things. One of them who seems to be the senior to the other kept getting upset and starting rambling in Polish which I did not understand. She also said 'Son of a' several times as she would get furiuos. I maintained my calm and told her that this is a new house and I wanted deep cleaning which it clearly is not. She was then surprised and said- 'oh I did not know you need a DEEP cleaning. I thought it was a regular cleaning'. I was upset to hear that but still wiping off cabinets and cleaning kitchen counter tops should be a part of regular cleaning too. It was a v bad experience with a sheer waste of my money and especially the time since I was swamped with the move and wanted a clean house before putting the stuff. I finally had to do the cleaning myself and it took me weeks since I work full time too. V V bad service. read more
