Came here for the indie vs 80s night they do in Fridays and I was surprised at how chill it was. I was honestly worried walking in because of all the reviews about security but it was quite fine. Security was very cordial and even let us know to be careful with our phones going in because of potential pickpockets. Our entire night there, they were very kind and came across as friendly (I know, a big surprise). On one occasion they told my friend to not smoke his vape indoors but they were super cool about it. It's really rare for me I feel to come to a place like this where the crowd tends to be younger so I'm always a bit nervous about the way people may behave and act but I have to say, most of the people I interacted with were really respectful. A welcome change of pace. Also, I really like the music they were playing. Although it does feel like the DJ only plays some sort of Spotify playlist and doesn't really mix the music, it's still a pretty fun time. And it can get pretty crowded inside the 80s/indie room so keep that in mind. My friends and I were able to find areas around the dance floor where we could dance comfortably though and even made our way up to the stage at one point which was awesome. The view of the dance floor from up there is lovely. One thing I will say to be wary of is the volume of the music. It's incredibly loud in there, especially if you're dancing by the speakers. Some earplugs would be really beneficial. And one big thing I really liked as well was the free water!! So goated for that. I prefer this night club over any of the other ones I've tried. I've found that the music is better, and the crowds are more respectful (although there are some oddballs). I've come here a number of times, and it's always fun. It's been getting more and more crowded though. I will say. Why are we playing every song the entire way through? The 80s can get a little repetitive. Please, by all means, play most of the song, but let's trim the fat a little They also have very reasonably priced and delicious pizza!!! I used to love going to this place! Honestly the music is so good and it's hard to find another place has the same 2000's vibe but it's unfortunately way too over crowded now. The last couple times I've went there was absolutely no room, was difficult to make my way through the crowd and smelled like sweat. There is a lot of teenagers there who are underage drinking. when me and my friend finally found a table, a teenage girl came and passed out at our table and had to be carried out by her friend and security! I've had no bad experiences with security there but I do find it strange that they have security in the bathroom? Idk I've just never been to another bar/club that has a security guard watching you in the bathroom. It was my first time at Ziings last night and unfortunately it's also my last. This review is to touch certain points their ownership should be aware of. When my group first arrived the line was extremely long and honestly their team working the line checking IDs did an awesome job checking ids quickly where we waited no more than 10 min. As we were waiting to pay I heard the guy taking payment charging some girls $10 and some girls $15.... To me that's crazy. The atmosphere over all was a 10/10 and the bartenders there were also awesome ensuring they checked any drink = a wristband. 10/10 Now for their security. We had a younger looking guard with glasses that was being aggressive with my boyfriend because he vaped inside and confiscated his pen. Listen we understood the why but what wasn't okay was how aggressive this security guard was being when we asked for the battery back back since the top part detaches and he could take the part that was the issue. So since this was a gift and had meaning behind it I didn't back down from the security until the battery part was returned to us. He got aggressive that he started escorting me outside which I went willingly and I'm not sure what he was calling into his radio that two other guards now join in. Ones they kicked me out the security shifted a 180 and all the sudden was being cooperative and apologized... this was an insane experience and honestly made me realize how bad of security guards they have to jump into conclusions because the security said whatever he wanted to wrongfully kick me out after paying $95 for entrance for my group and over $100 at the bar in drinks... so to the management please look into your team because this place has potential. I go to Hollywood for BlueMonday all the time and never have had an issue so I think I'll be sticking to that after experiencing what I did at Ziings. read more

I used to love coming here for the music but now feel deeply uncomfortable here due to repetitive harassment from security. I completely understand wanting to keep the environment safe but there is an abuse of power and incompetence when there is no justification to kicking someone out. Recently, I had been leaving the bathroom and a female security guard grabbed me and dragged me out. My friends and I hadn't even been inside for an hour. I wasn't sick. Maybe there was a description that matched me and she assumed I had been but she didn't even try to hear me out when I explained that I wasn't throwing up. I didn't even get to wash my hands. She came in and grabbed me the second I opened the door. There was another time a security guard told his friend about me and dragged me out during the first hour with zero explanation. I tried looking up at the man pulling me to explain that I felt okay but he didn't even make eye-contact with me. He just yelled "you've gotta go" over and over again. It actually felt dehumanizing. We PAY to get in. I was not causing a disturbance and did not feel vulnerable. Again, people PAY and drive over here to get in. Most of us work full-time during the week and have school. It's a nice time to catch up with friends and let loose. It's infuriating to be treated this way on my one night off and I'm sure others have felt the same. At the very least be willing to ask how someone is feeling. I'd understand if I was falling over or bothering others but the treatment truly felt biased and unfair. I've come in with female friends who made out and danced on men and they have NEVER been given this treatment so I know very well it's not about concern for our safety. To an extent, it feels racially motivated. ****Leaving this review to voice my disappointment but primarily to warn other poc girls coming in. We are not treated fairly, security won't hear us out, they don't seem to actually WANT to keep us safe, and overall my advice is to stay away from them if you go in. This actually brought down my self-worth when I saw how differently my light skinned friends were treated so hopefully this won't be taken personally by anyone else. They also profiled one of my black friends at the time because security was not doing their job and let someone in with a gun. So they interrogated him and searched him without consent. Straight up racist. If you wanna have an enjoyable experience this isn't the place, unless you go really early for only an hour before it becomes unbearably hot. very honest review as someone who's been here a couple times for the 90's room! ---- if you're here to get crunk and dance with the least amount of effort, this is your place to go. The music is the same every single time I've gone besides recently, but it's somehow gotten worse. this was the first time that I've left significantly earlier than the times before, because the crowd is just dead because nobody knows how to dance to the songs that are playing. it doesn't help with the fact that the place isn't dark enough so you can see literally everyone around you, and when the song is ass and you open your eyes to see everyone swaying awkwardly just as you are.. it kills the vibe. Cheap entry and honestly more good songs than bad. The venue has two medium-sized rooms and two bars. That said, the overall experience is held back by the staff. The bartenders rarely seem happy to be there, which affects the vibe. Security also feels unprofessional and extremely poorly trained. There's no sense of de-escalation, just immediate threats and physical behavior even when people are compliant. On top of that, multiple times I've gone, at least one security staff member has hit on someone in my group, and one staff member even had my friend dancing on them, which felt uncomfortable and inappropriate. The music and price are decent, but the staff and security really need better training and boundaries. read more

Worst experience ever. Went here as a last resort to end halloweekend. My friends and I showed up and the place was very small and the vibes were wack. But we went to the bar to get our friend, who is hypoglycemic, a soda so she wouldn't start to feel woozy. Bartender gives her the drink for free and says "it's soda you don't have to pay for soda" and sends them on their way. My other friend and I were waiting to order next and saw our friends being shoved out of the club with flashlights in their faces. As we went to join them the security guards had already put them outside and walked away with her coca cola. All one security guard said was that it was his second day and to try and rub their crosses off their hands and try to get back in. Asked if he had a boss and said he didn't know. So I went to get the bartender to tell them it was just a soda. Only to then have another security guard shove two cups in my face and tell me that the different cups were how they knew my friends soda was "not a soda." I told him I watched him pour the soda and he said "well I just talked to him and he said it was a drink" so I asked if I could talk to him because he was lying. The security guard said I could try but it wouldn't make a difference. Meanwhile my friend is sitting on the ground shaking outside. It took TWO of us to yell at the bartender to get him to tell the truth. Once we were "allowed back inside" my friend asked if we could get another soda because our friend could barely walk at this point. The same security guard who shoved cups in my face said "yea you can go inside and get it yourself." And the cherry on top was the bartender put her drink in the wrong cup AGAIN. Then yelled at my friend because she asked him if it was the right cup. AND WE GOT CHECKED AGAIN AND ALMOST GOT THROWN OUT AGAIN BY THE SAME LITTLE GIRL SECURITY GUARD. Then we were harassed by a security guard about why we didn't bring candy if we knew she had an issue. The whole thing took an hour and by the time we figured it out we just wanted to leave. This place has the worst, most rude, and incompetent workers I have ever seen. And no accountability was took. We got no apologies until I offered to tip the bartender that yelled at my friend where he admitted to everything and apologized without taking my money. They have open mic nights! I think that alone merits 5 stars. That being said, they could use a little more organization. One time, this duo went up on stage and performed a very beautiful rendition of Closer by Kings of Leon. Or was it Use Somebody? Either way, it was Kings of Leon and it was a good performance. Immediately after them, this couple went up to the stage and performed the exact same song! They did good but by that point it just came off as derivative. I feel like this could have been avoided if the venue if not coordinated, at least was aware of what the acts were performing and could maybe give them a heads up and let them decide amongst themselves who gets to do Kings of Leon that night. This might be a limitation of the open mic night format but the previous week, that same couple performed that same Kings of Leon song. Talk about derivative! I kid, open mic nights are a window into the world of the few brave souls that choose to perform and I'm super thankful that Ziings does these at all. read more

He is a down-to-earth and humble fellow. He cares about every single customers and guests he meets. When I asked him a certain drink, he knows it like the back of his head.
