I attended Chako's Social for the Mexico vs. England World Cup match and, unfortunately, it was the worst World Cup viewing experience I've had in nearly 30 years of attending matches at venues across Southern California. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The venue appeared to be focused on creating a nightclub atmosphere rather than providing a proper football watch party.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was a DJ, extremely loud music, and a host who continuously provided her own commentary throughout the match.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Instead of allowing fans to enjoy the game, she repeatedly interrupted play with jokes, personal observations, and constant microphone chatter that distracted from the match. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Halftime was especially frustrating. Rather than preparing for the second half, the host performed multiple songs while fans on the patio were asking for the match audio to be turned on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Even after the game resumed, the unnecessary commentary continued for the remainder of the match. To make matters worse, there was a $30 cover charge. I purchased tickets for my entire group in advance, spending well over $200 before food and drinks. For that price, I expected a venue that understood people were there to watch one of the biggest sporting events in the world--not to watch the host become the center of attention. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A great World Cup watch party lets the match create the atmosphere. The crowd, the chants, the tension, and the emotion are what make these events memorable. Unfortunately, those moments were constantly interrupted.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I genuinely wanted to like Chako's Social, but this experience was incredibly disappointing. The drinks were a highlight -- we ordered the BeatBox fishbowls and they were delicious..... We skipped bottomless mimosas to try something different, but they do offer them for $30, which is a steal and worth recommending for brunch. Regarding the food, we decided to skip the breakfast items--such as the French toast, breakfast platter, and breakfast burrito--based on mixed reviews and ordered the burger and fries instead. Unfortunately, we found the meal to be quite bland. It would benefit significantly from additional seasoning, such as seasoned salt. Additionally, I recommend using romaine lettuce instead of shredded lettuce, as it provides better flavor and a more appealing presentation. There were multiple issues that occurred when I visited. They messed up on my order twice, they ran out of some of their items that they had on the menu, they gave my friend's food order away to another person. They said that they would remake it and it took them 20 more minutes just to bring out waffles that look like egos and store bought gravy. The manager was very nonchalant when we spoke to him about the buffet being completely empty. When the server asked the manager if my food could be taken off of the bill since it was wrong twice, he gave her a smirk and somewhat rolled his eyes. The service was all over the place. I was very surprised! I came here to watch a World Cup Match with my friend. I didn't expect much outside of traditional bar food but I was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious! We went to Chako's Social for my friend's birthday, and honestly, the vibe when we first walked in was the only good part of the night. The music was popping and people looked like they were having fun, so we thought we were in for a good time. We were wrong. The place was stuffy and uncomfortable, but we tried to ignore it. Then it took forever -- and I mean forever -- for our waitress to even come take our order. After that, it was another long wait just to get our drinks. It was so slow that I actually had to get up and go to the bar myself to order drinks. At the bar, the bartender makes our drinks, rings me up on the kiosk, and asks if I want to leave a tip. I hit NO because I tipped her cash. Simple, right? Apparently not. The next day I looked at my receipt and realized they added gratuity without my authorization. So not only did I leave a cash tip, but they also snuck in an automatic gratuity after asking me if I wanted to tip on the kiosk. Make it make sense. What kind of establishment double-charges tips like that?? Completely unacceptable and honestly shady. If you go here, check EVERY line of your receipt. And let's talk about the food... $35 for what they called a "buffet," but it was basically a sad plate of salad and cold French toast. That's not a buffet -- that's disrespectful. The food was just bad, period. The ONLY redeeming part of the night was the DJ, who actually knew what she was doing and kept the energy fun. But music alone isn't enough to make up for awful service, sneaky charges, and terrible food. Would I ever come back? Absolutely not. On February 15, 2026, one day after Valentine's Day, I attended Chakos nightclub accompanied by my mother and brother. While inside the establishment, I was suddenly struck on the side of my face by an unknown individual without warning or provocation. I did not see the attacker, as the assault occurred unexpectedly from outside my field of vision. The force of the impact caused me to fall to the ground in a state of confusion. Rather than checking on my condition, ensuring my safety, or attempting to identify or detain the individual responsible, a bouncer approached me and immediately instructed me to leave the premises. At no point did staff ask whether I was injured, request my statement, or attempt to locate the assailant. The actions of Chakos staff demonstrate a failure to provide reasonable security and care for patrons. Instead of responding appropriately to an assault occurring inside their venue, staff removed the victim while allowing the responsible individual to remain unidentified. Since the incident, I have attempted to obtain the establishment's insurance information to pursue proper claims related to the injuries and damages suffered. Chakos has failed to provide this information or take accountability. On April 22, 2026, I spoke with an employee named Carlos to follow up regarding the incident and insurance details. Carlos stated that he did not have internet access and suggested I speak with a manager but failed to provide any further direction or assistance. This interaction reflected the same pattern of negligence and lack of responsibility demonstrated on the night of the assault. Based on these events, I believe Chakos failed in its duty to maintain a safe environment for patrons and failed to properly respond after a violent incident occurred on its premises. read more

What can I say about Chakos? Would we go back after driving from a distance? No. We purchased tickets for the R&B Brunch and also bought bottomless mimosas, but we were never clearly told our table would only be for 90 minutes. We ordered food--the French dip was delicious--and we were enjoying the music and chatting with the table next to us while the DJ was playing. The music was loud and several people came in with babies in car seats and toddlers, so we were surprised that it felt more like a family day club environment than the brunch vibe we expected. When we were ready to order another round of drinks, our waitress told us the manager said we had to leave because our 90 minutes were up and other people were waiting for our table. We had already been there about two hours and spent over $300, and it felt very abrupt and unwelcoming to be asked to leave like that. On top of that, gratitude was automatically added for a party of six, even though there were only three of us. The food was good, but the experience felt rushed and very focused on turning tables rather than customer service. The staff even seemed uncomfortable, like they were under pressure from management. Chakos is located in downtown Fullerton on the corner of Harbor. I recommend checking out their social media as they have quite a bit of special events and happy hour deals. I saw a promo for ladies Rnb brunch so made a reservation for my girlfriends and me. It was $10 per person for the reservation and easy to do on the website. We had reservations at 11:30am this past Sunday and the vibes were perfect. Aesthetically they had a cute sign photo opp at entry and the tvs had a pink rnb ladies brunch decal. It set the vibe. Our server was Mia and she was so attentive and sweet! We did bottomless mimosas($25) which they do a 90 minute time limit which makes sense and we decided to do the breakfast buffet which was $20 per person. Mia made sure to keep the bottomless flowing and the buffet was delicious. The dj's for ladies rnb brunch were fantastic. Dj p nasty was a whole vibe and I was singing the whole time. The dj after her got us on the dance floor and it was a good time for sure. I also ordered espresso martinis which were delicious here along with the nachos. I knew they closed at 2 AM, so I figured I'd have a few minutes to dance. To my surprise, they were charging $20 per person, which felt a bit steep given how close it was to closing. Still, I paid for myself and my friend ($40 total). But by 1:40 AM, the lights were already turned on and staff started kicking people out early. That was disappointing -- especially since we barely got 20 minutes inside and they didn't stay true to their 2 AM closing time. I came to Chako's with a friend for a Love Island watch party on a Tuesday and had a fun time. There are so many TVs it's impossible to have a bad view. If the sun has gone down, they have really fun vibey strip lights. They had a prix fix themed menu for the party with special drinks. I was disappointed that the server told me there were no non-alcoholic drink options available. No sodas, really? We couldn't order anything as a mocktail? Please do better for your sober visitors so we can drink more than water. Besides that, I enjoyed my fries. There were no other vegan options than that. It's what I was expecting honestly. It's definitely overpriced for the portion you receive, but the drinks and food are sort of the price you pay for the great viewing experience. Overall though, yes I would recommend to anyone who wants to go to a watch party and have fun with the girls as a group! I appreciate the theming and the huge TVs. I thought I was walking in to Chako's to drop off a business card to possibly DJ there. The flashing lights zapped my eyes when I made the entrance; I only made it halfway (?) to the bar before Jacob (a consultant for and friend of the bar) pulled me aside for some decidedly light hearted conversation under the lasers and lights at Chako's. Jacob asked who I was etc., and then proceeded to discuss his cultural background, joke extensively about planing events, music, and self promotion. He flagged down Abraham, the lead bartender, during his jocular talk with me & ordered two whiskeys. I drank shot number 1. Jacob asked me countless riotously funny questions about DJing. For example: Do I have tons of ladies following me 24/7 because of all the dope beats I play, etc.? I said that DJing does not quite work like that, and he said then you need to play more bangers, party jams etc. (He laughed or smiled during 99% of the conversation--a total comedian.) He began explaining that he sells happiness & experiences, but before he could finish the thought he got distracted by a golden retriever a regular had in their booth. Jacob started bobbing and weaving in front of the golden retriever. The dog leapt into a full blown play fight with Jacob. Jumping at Jacob's chest and faux chomping his wrists whenever Jacob threw a jab at the dog. A miniature mock prize fight unfolded between hound and man as the party lights danced about them. A risible spectacle. Jacob stopped playing with the dog, returned to the bar, and ordered himself and me a second shot of whiskey. He swiftly downed his glass. I paused with mine for a moment, so he offered me a generous handful of orange slices from the bar. I ate the oranges and drank the shot. Before the conversation could resume, someone from the staff asked to speak with Jacob for 5 minutes. The team member and Jacob both walked to a more private section of Chako's. I shifted my attention to Abraham. Thanked him for the drinks. Abraham maintained an extremely stoic and professional demeanor. I shook hands with Suzy, a manager, on my way out. Came here for a Joke and Stroke event which was supposed to be like a paint and sip with a comedy show. The whole thing was a disaster. After getting seated, we waited 25 minutes for a waitress to come by and take our drink orders. About 20 mins after that we got our drinks and wanted to order food but the waitress only took one persons order in our group and then walked away. We ended up not getting our food till an hour after we arrived. I got the watermelon mocktail which was terrible. It was literally watered down watermelon juice. Not worth $8. I also got the burger which was super greasy and had no flavor. Bad service. Bad food. Joke and Stroke is a separate company that came in to host the event here but I'm still going to review it here. Joke and Stroke is a great idea for an event, a paint and comedy night, however it was horribly executed and disorganized. My sister is battling cancer so I thought I would take her out to do something fun as a distraction. This was a huge disappointment. We arrived and we didn't know what we were supposed to do. Nobody told us. Finally we got our supplies but had to wait forever in a line to get the paint. The paint was really bad quality, like children's finger paint. The event was supposed to start at 7 but the "comedy show" didn't start till after the basketball game was over at 8:45. AN HOUR AND FORTY-FIVE MiNUTES after the event started. If I had known this ahead of time, I would have never come. The worst part of the night were the "comedians." They were soooooooooooooo bad!! Not funny at all!! I cannot stress that enough! I didn't laugh once and no one in my party did either! I looked around and nobody was laughing. We were all cringing. All we talked about all night was how bad this event was. This was truly an embarrassment for the owner and everyone involved in producing it. I can't believe I paid $30 for this AND we had to buy two items at the restaurant. Love Chako's! Visited here with a group of Mamas for Mother's Day to celebrate them on their day. Drinks were delicious and the food was perfection. Unfortunately, I was so busy tearing up my plate that I missed the opportunity to get a photo of all the meals being served, but there were no complaints AT ALL, just praise after praise. The atmosphere was great and I loved the aesthetic at the entrance. I was actually nervous that it would take awhile to grab a table, but we waited no more than ten minutes. Now there was a 2 hour max we had to enjoy our meal, but we finished right on time, so it didn't bother us much. Where should I start if this could get a zero review... Friday night about 8 PM it's completely dead. We ordered a soda;they brought it out with no ice, and it was completely flat. Ordered a beer and it was also flat and tasted like dirty sock. Ordered "brisket" sliders and it was more like diced mystery meat doused in bbq sauce. Ordered a flat bread and it tasted like it was a frozen bread. Also ordered a bottled beer thinking it would be better and that also was old.
