We luckily did not have to wait at all and were able to bring a guest. There is a small bar with no cocktail or drink menu but a decent selection of liquor and wines to choose from to craft your own cocktail. Again, the real issue here that knocked this down to three stars for me was the humidity. There are two industrial sized dehumidifiers/air conditioners which are appreciated but they are eyesores and don't eliminate the damp odor. I do like the look of this lounge with the attempts to mimic the iconic style of Old San Juan, I wish it was unblemished.

Let me start by saying that this place doesn't get going until midnight, which is normal for people like us who are from Miami...for others the hours may be a little tough. The owner/bartender Freddie is as hospitable as can be. We were welcomed into the small old fashioned bar right away. There was a mix of locals and folks like us from the states, but everyone fit in. We happened to arrive shortly before midnight on 2/13, and Freddie's birthday was on 2/14. Some of his friends had brought balloons and a birthday cake which he shared with us. It was an awesome way to experience our first night in PR! We went again on that Saturday and there was a 'real' birthday celebration going on! The bar itself is like stepping into a time machine. Freddie has pictures of his friends on the walls from years past. There are old poker and gaming machines around and an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. And this is before the karaoke starts! He has a great list and books in English and Spanish. We are NOT good singers, but the locals coming to EDL could rival the best singers at any karaoke bar you've been to. My young kids were delighted with this. There is a boathouse area with free kayaking, standup paddle boarding and inflatable playground. This boathouse also offers more high-tech water sports equipment for rent. For families There are adult bikes and children's bikes on the resort that are complementary. There are golf carts that take you from one area to another as everything is pretty spread out. For example, from the main gate to the hotel is a little less than a mile. Only two free breakfast are included with Marriott status. So if you are traveling with kids, you have to pay $22 plus tip for their breakfast every morning. They have a few sand toys to share out on the beach. The large pool area does have Shallow parts for children. For adults The beach here is gorgeous though setback many yards from the hotel. The pool does not have an adult only area that I know of. There is a nice but small hot tub. You have access to all of the spa amenities every day as a guest here. There is a small gym next to the spa and a larger gym called the wellness center which is about Half a mile from the main area. Food issues The main issue here as many other of viewers have stated is the lack of decent food selection. Sea grapes is decent but only open until 5 PM. Paro gets terrible reviews and is excessively overpriced Mediterranean food. However, an Uber from the hotel to Rio Grande is not expensive around $10 and they are good restaurants, but you must do your own research. I recommend Los kioskos de luquillo Which have many food options and it is basically a beach party scene better for adult adults than kids. Service and butler service overall were spotty. We were given incorrect information multiple times. Don't forget to take a ton of cash to tip-wish they would include this in the final bill. Loved the ocean view, comfy beds, and spacious bathroom. Overall a nice stay and would consider coming back if the food options improved a bit!
