When I arrived 10 minutes early to the 2:00pm appointment Sean was already there. He was very friendly (in person and on the phone) and had already done a perimeter inspection! After introductions he took me around and pointed out what he had already seen and was a patient educator. Joining the inspection with me was my father and partner via a video call. Sean not only responded to my questions but theirs as well. Made sure that they were responded to and was patient with my very curious father who tried to keep rushing him along. Sean could have become flustered but he didn't and managed my father in a way that was respectful and professional. I. WAS. SO. IMPRESSED. I had no idea how through a home inspection was and honestly when I told others about my experience (because I am hollerin from the mountain tops) my friends [one of which just purchased a new home] were shocked as how in depth Sean was. I could literally write for so much longer about how positive this experience was for me. Buying a home is nerve wracking. Meeting up with strangers in a COVID world is anxiety inducing. Trying to navigate an inspection with a partner on the phone is hard and clunky speaking through masks and over water sounds but Sean did it. Real talk I was skeptical with the recommendations that Chris (Redfin realtor) put forward but I didn't know any different so I took the first one on the list. And BOY OH BOY am I glad I did that. **CHRIS Keep putting Sean first** The inspection report was in my email the next morning. During the inspection Sean had recommended a specific product to fix something that came up during the inspection. I felt comfortable emailing him asking him for the name again and he responded almost immediately. ALSO - he recommended to me a termite inspection company (the next Yelp review I am going to write) and he was FANTASTIC as well! He went out of his way to point out water damage found in the ceiling to Sean before he was even there. The communication and teamwork is what EVERY buyer should experience when navigating purchasing a house. It was CLEAR that everyone on our team CARES that we doing get a lemon. He even explains the details to you as he does the inspections. He wants to make sure that you fully understand his findings. He makes suggestions as to how repairs can be made as well as possible repair costs. His reports are organized and are provided at the site. He also emails photos taken during the inspection. Elizabeth is great with customer service. She is very responsive and had no problem with me contacting her with questions for Jack after the inspection. I was able to pay a fee for Jack to come back and do a reinspection of the home to make sure the repairs were done properly. I was so glad that I did that because Jack found a major repair that was improperly superficially patched. This finding prevented the seller from trying to sell me a home under the pretense that the repair had been properly made. The home inspector was rough with our things (it was still our home). He ripped down mini blinds by yanking them too hard. He filled the jetted tub to the top (you don't need to do that to see if the jets work), and we pay per gallon of water after a certain amount. He just seemed to be very rough with the house. If you are the buyer, Blue Crab will be thorough and get the job done. If you are the seller, be there to at least monitor how rough they are with your home.
