I've wanted to experience Zion for many years, so when family suggested a long weekend trip here during the pandemic madness, I was really excited to get away from the monotony of everyday life in the midst of COVID-19. Sick of your shizz, coronavirus! Initially I wasn't really sure what you expect from a Jeep tour, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fun, off the beaten path experience that we had taking the sunset tour. I was a bit leery of the Jeep and thinking it may or may not break down on a dirt road without cellular signal, but all is well that ends well. The ride was scenic and bumpy and an all around good time. Our tour guide was Zach(Zack?) and he was Ah-mazing. He was a great driver, funny, interesting, informative, and an all around joy to be around for our three hour tour. He shared lots of information on our surroundings, asked a lot of questions about our trip, and made a lot of great recommendations for our stay near Zion. If you can get him as your guide, you'll be in great hands. Overall a lovely time with spectacular views. read more

My fiancé and I did a canyoneering trip with Stu and it was the best decision of our zion trip! Stu was such an incredible tour guide and overall person. His knowledge of the park and the activity were invaluable. We were able to climb up to a canyon and do 4 repels down. I totally had stage freight the first repel leg and Stu was incredibly calming and helped me overcome my fear for a truly awesome trip! His patience is truly a gift. Best adventure trip I have ever been on in my life! We're 6 martial arts instructors and we just had an instructors' retreat. We booked the "Under the Stars" trip. 3 of us were vegetarians and 3 were meat eaters, which worked out perfectly because one of our guides was vegetarian and all of the food he prepared for us was excellent. We started out with mountain bike riding on the first day. Zack and Stephen were excellent at explaining to the beginner bike riders how to safely go downhill. We biked for about 3 hours. Had lunch then went up to the camp site which was on a lake and had a bathroom. It was secluded and we were definitely offline. Chilled for the rest of the day and had a great dinner. Spaghetti and vegan meatballs and ribeye steak for the meat eaters. Day 2 - We had an early morning (5am) and had coffee and vegan breakfast burritos (tofu, peppers, onions, vegan cheese and salsa). We went canyoneering which was spectacular! We hiked up 3.5 miles up and then hiked and rappelled 6 or 7 times down. It was the first time rappelling for 3 of us. This was a tremendous experience for some of the guys who had a fear of heights but they overcame their fear and we made it down together. With Zack and Steve's help, they were super detailed and patient on the entire process with us. This took about 5 hours then we ate sandwiches for lunch. Then we stopped at Walmart to get s'mores stuff and a propane campfire. We swam in the lake and had meat and impossible burgers for dinner. Day 3 - early day again. This time, we went on two epic hikes. First, Angel's Landing which was hard but well worth it. It's dangerous at times, so take it slow if you need to. Then we went to the Narrows until we hit the fork before heading back. It's about a 20min walk before getting to the water entrance. Make sure you get water boots with neoprene socks and walking sticks. This will keep your ankles safe and the walking stick will keep you stable (it's a must). It's a bit slow walking against the flow of the water and easier going back. This ended our Under the Stars trip. Our guides made the experience awesome. A very special thanks to them, Zack and Stephen, for making this such an awesome adventure for me and all of the instructors! Such incredible memories to last a lifetime! read more

I'll be the first person to admit that I signed up for this without really understanding what was involved. You see, I am really uncomfortable with heights. I guess I figured we'd be IN canyons, not rappelling 100 feet or more down into them. Repeatedly. But.....Steven was an amazing, patient and calming guide. I trusted him and experienced an AMAZING DAY! Me!? It was exhilarating, exciting, beautiful and I came away feeling stronger than I ever have. This tour takes place in the northern area of Zion where far fewer people visit- away from all the crazy Zion crowds but just a short van ride. A wonderful experience. Steven was excellent at explaining what we were doing and why. Discussing the history of the area, the flora and fauna, the geology. He was amazingly knowledgeable and a terrific ambassador for rock climbing and canyoneering. I hope Zion Rock & Mountain Guides knows what a great guide they have in Steven! We had an amazing time with our awesome guide Adam. We initially booked a hiking tour into Zion national park to hike Angels camp, the narrows or whatever the "popular" hikes were, however, due to Covid we decided to hike and canyoneer outside of the national park. We were at first hesitant because this was our first time at Zion BUT we were so glad we followed Adams advice! We had an amazing time canyoneering- though we are afraid of heights, we never felt so safe with our guide! They fitted us with helmets and harness - then off we went. I never thought I would propel down a rock but it is a MUST! We plan to return next summer! Having a dedicated guide who knew the area made a huge difference! Can't say enough good things about our two guided tours with Zion Rock & Mountain! Our first time in Zion and Finn was fantastic during our guide of The Narrows. Very attentive, helpful, patient and great to talk to during our 5 hour tour of The Narrows (I completely under estimated how laborious it would be having to continously focus on each step walking on all the underwater rocks!) The very next day we had a canyoneering tour with Steven and again, I truly cannot say enough good things about him and the tour! My wife and I had never been repelling before and to be honest we were pretty freaked out about it. BUT, Steven put our fears to rest by how well he took care of us- emotionally and physically! There was seriously not one moment I felt in any danger as Steven was meticulous in how he prepared the ropes and setup for our repells, and it was evident from the beginning that his focus was on taking care of us, our safety and making us feel comfortable. Did the half day canyoneering tour with Stuart. He knew exactly how much to pack in (and ease off) so eased me into a climb up a narrow slot canyon (I am a total beginner at rock climbing and rappelling) where I built my confidence and learned a few simple techniques, including a short lead climb where I took the lead while being safely belayed. Then a few more scrambles and climbs up to beautiful views at Lambs Knoll, and then rappelling down 3 cliffs of 40-100'. Plenty of time for impromptu breaks and chats so I felt totally at ease. Equipment in good condition, lots of attention to safety in an unobtrusive way, totally exceeded expectations with a super high quality learning and fun experience! Just one suggestion...even though it may be hot, wear long pants and shirts to avoid getting chafed in the climbing. Though it was mid 90s outside, the slot canyons are more like 80 and dry heat, so very comfortable with wearing long sleeve thin clothing. Highly recommend! read more

My family of 5 (2 parents, 3 kids ages 13 to 21) had Guru Stu as our guide. Stu was extremely kind, easy going & patient, obviously enjoyed his job and made sure his guests were at ease and felt safe with everything we did. This was a private tour (why I chose it) and absolutely perfect! It was a 'tour' -we climbed up the rocks, through narrow areas, had a view like we were on top of the world and rappelled (3 times) back down. We had Zion as a stop over location for a day. We expected to go into the park but due to CoVid, no shuttles were running and the parking lot was full at 7am. We looked for another activity and came across ZRMG and boy are we happy we did. We did the Family Full Day Canyoneering. 2 adults and 2 boys age 7/8. Our guide was Zack. After getting fitted for the gear we went to the spot. It was HOT but Zack kept us on the more shaded routes. Our oldest boy was super into it but when our youngest stepped up to the first ledge I thought we just wasted a bunch of money as he was very scared and didn't want to go. But Zack was AMAZING with him. Zack calmed him down and even though he was still scared he got him down the first 50 ft cliff. And then got him to go down the 80 foot cliff next!!! By the end of the day my son was inviting Zack to dinner and his next birthday party. And he admitted that he had fun and would go again if Zack was the guide! The adventure and the memories were awesome. Way better than anything we could have done with the limited areas in Zion proper. read more

I ventured to Zion solo and decided to hire a guide for hiking. Because of conditions in Zion park we discussed some other options and opted for canyoneering. Matt was super informative, confident, and patient when explaining this adventure. Once we arrived at the destination he explained everything thoroughly, was able to talk you thru any fears lol, and provided great conversation and insight the entire day. I did the half day trip which was enough for me physically. The climbing to get to the repels is the hardest part but Matt guides you, sets up safety lines and makes it happen. The repelling is the reward for the climbs. With just the two of us we got in five repels I about a 4.5 window with drive time to and from lambs canyon. This is a way better option to experience something you would not do on your own and stay out of the tourist filled Zion National Park. read more

Took a sunset jeep tour with Stuart and explored areas outside of the hat you would see on a typical self drive of the park. He was great at getting us some fun photos and very knowledgeable about the area. We even explored a little bit in an area he hadn't stepped foot on personally because we wanted to see unique things most people miss. We took a hummer out and had a smooth ride. I think both of us expected a crazier keep experience, josh because we have friends that get crazy into it and have gone out with them. But the friendliness and knowledge was a terrific substitute to the off roading we were expecting. To be clear, we were on a dirt road for a big portion and the hummer was wonderfully comfortable. read more

My boyfriend and I did an impromptu Zion trip this last weekend and everything was booked or sold out. All we could do our first day was drive through the park. We wanted to take a shuttle or ride a bike into the Narrows but all the shuttles were sold out for the next month, bikes were already rented and we were SOL driving out of the park. We happen to drive by this place and out of frustration thought we'd try it as our one last hope. Larry who was amazing had 2 bikes available for rent. He got us all set up for the next morning. They're open 2 hours earlier than the other bike shops too which was awesome plus cheaper than the other shops. This place deserves our business. Larry gave us excellent customer service and Guru Stu also was very genuine and welcoming. This will forever be our go to place. We have experienced a lot of adventures during our visit to Zion including canyoneering, ATV-omg, horse back riding and hiking. Our mountain biking experience was other-level. Zach, our guide, was highly skilled and personable. He gauged our level and pushed us to our limits (in a good way!) He was super patient when we needed to stop and also encouraged us to walk if we felt uncomfortable at any time. We got to do two different trails down the Jem trailhead, totaling about 5 hours of activity and we were spent by the end but so happy we did both rides! Oh, and talk about social distancing! Communication was great, we were greeted warmly upon arrival, had a fun time getting to know our guide Stu and the equipment at the shop (which was top notch), and had a great drive out to the Lamb's Knoll lot. From there, we had a gorgeous and fun hike up to yoga rock, and on to our three rappels. Stu was an incredible guide the whole way, looking out for our safety, enjoyment, and camera roll. He made each of the rappels special and fun, helped us take great pictures, and was clearly more than competent on the ropes. I wish there were an option for a single person to join a group tour, because a private trip with a tip cost just as much as my roundtrip flight to Vegas. Siiiiiiiiiigh. But anyway, the experience was amazeballs. We went to Lambs Knoll. The views were incredible, and the canyons were awe-inspiring. Squeezing through some of those places seemed at first glance impossible. My guide Steven was amazing, and knew the mountain like the back of his hand. He was one with the rock! I don't know how he carried all the gear, it weighed tons. He was very flexible in what we were able to do, and he knew about geology, flora, and little bit about everything else. He was gentle and supportive and helped me cheat, I mean provided assistance, for getting through some difficult spots. Excellent guide, ask for him! Thanks a lot! Two families of 4 with kids from 16-20 took our first adventure canyoneering from 7:00-2:00. The two of us moms were nervous to walk off a cliff but Ben made us feel safe and comfortable in Lambs Knoll. ZRMG assured me when booking that if anyone was too fearful we could walk down canyon but with a few easier rappels we continued on from 60-90 feet rappels. In total we were able to do 5 rappels. Stu took us on a sunset tour April 21st, 2022. He was so kind and funny and personable. He took us to some beautiful places and I could tell he loved to examine his surroundings and feel the energy of these beautiful places like I did. We visited several places on a huge mesa. I came away looking at this seemingly barren environment knowing there are green pastures and happy cows, birds, reptiles and life on each mesa we pass. I saw large expanses of rocks we could walk on that resembled skate parks, I saw a hummingbird, phlox, blooming cacti, painted flowers, lizards, evergreens, lichen in bright yellows and oranges and views that make your heart stop. He even took us to see petroglyphs and actual dinosaur prints! We came away feeling our thousands of miles trip was worth every hour it took. We highly recommend ZRMG! Definitely a highlight of our trip to Zion, and a great way to practice for Angel's Landing! Kurtis did an excellent job of tailoring our experience to challenge our abilities (beginner rock climbers but athletic) while making sure that we felt safe and comfortable at all times. Even my boyfriend, who is normally afraid of heights, was able to manage a 140 foot rappel just fine! Kurtis was a fun conversationalist, and it's clear that he has a lot of knowledge and respect of the land. Knocked off a star because our excursion started over an hour late (we were supposed to leave by 1pm for a half-day trip, but Kurtis didn't come back from his previous tour until 2:15pm). This was a bit of a bummer since had cut short our Narrows hike that morning to make it on time, but we ended up waiting at the gear shop for almost two hours. Kurtis did make sure that we got the full experience, though--originally our trip was supposed to end at 6pm, but we stayed out until 7:30pm. Perhaps in his haste to get going, Kurtis also forgot to bring climbing gloves. This ended up not being a big deal, since he lent me his own gloves and my boyfriend had winter gloves with him. read more

We had an incredible canyoneering trip today with Stu at Lamb's Knoll lot. I called the shop yesterday and Larry was very nice to locate a guide and to make accommodations. Stu met us at the shop. The shop included snow pants and snowshoes and transportation to and from the shop. We were able to do the hike up in the snow and 3 rappels down. Stu was very informative, funny, educational, and positive throughout the day. Everything was very safety-oriented. We would highly recommend this shop, Stu the guide, and this adventure. I have to start with had I known what I was signing up for when I called and inquired innocently about family canyoneering,and was told that the group would only be my family and the guide and that people as young as 4 and as old as 80 do this, I never would have signed us up for this. My husband even said the same thing, he never would have allowed me to sign our little family up for this given the grueling physical demands and the scariness of the tasks!! But I have to say, I am glad I was ignorant. I have never had so much fun in my life. This will definitely be one of the most memorable experiences of my life and my kids' too. I also have to preface this review with how crazily not commercial this business is. Nor do they really market themselves at all. Here they are located feet outside of Zion National Park and yet they are not what you expect. At the end of our adventure, we so wanted to buy a tee shirt to remember our experience. And they didn't even have damn tee shirts for sale!! All they had were caps. And I was so expecting to be forced to buy their recommended footwear and other paraphenalia, but I did not get any hard sell at all. Best of all, we had the best guide ever--Isaac! The nicest guy ever. So laid-back. He walked us calmly through everything we had to do. Was so super patient with us. And really knew what he was doing. He was unbelievable. He really made our trip. He was very encouraging and was the best coach ever. Little did we know he is an American Ninja Warrior!! As we were eating our lunch, he asked if we watch television. And that is when he told us. Isaac Caldeiro!! Now we watch avidly and are cheering him on. Great guy and a great experience. Totally worth it. read more

We opted for a full day of canyoneering as part of our vacation to Zion. We arrived at the shop at 7am and drove part of the way. We parked in a day hike area and our guide, Sonny drove the rest of the way. Beforehand, we had a bit of a discussion on what we were interested in doing. We did Water Canyon which was incredible. We did 6-7 rappels which required a good steep hike which took about 1.5hrs with lots of scrambling. Sonny our guide was really nice, encouraging but also very concerned with safety.
