An extremely convenient lodge located in one of my favorite national parks. I found it to be very clean and cozy. Although it's a bit expensive for my taste, it's REALLY convenient if you're visiting Zion for the first time in your life. You'll be given a red parking pass that will allow you to park in the parking lot very close to the shuttle stations. You can take a shuttle back into Hurricane and just as easily take another shuttle back to your lodge. The beds are comfortable AF, the ease of access is amazing, and you feel VERY comfy here. I'd recommend anyone who's visiting Zion for the first time consider Zion Lodge. Sure it's a bit expensive, but you'll feel a bit more comfortable as a first timer. Trust me, I'm a doctor. If you're going to stay here, and I highly recommend you do, go for one of the cabins. They don't have a TV like the motel rooms do but they still have wifi and as an added benefit, you get a gas fireplace that doubles as your heat source. That means you get to sleep with the fire going and you can control the temperature too. Awesome! The cabins are a little bit more but not much and well worth it. As for meals, dinner was eh but the breakfast was great (a typical two egg breakfast, ordered off the menu). The breakfast buffet is good but pretty pricey and typical buffet quality. The service was great morning and night and the hostess runs a tight ship. There are two sizable advantages to staying at the lodge. 1) You're already in the park so you don't have to wait in line (in your car) to get in. 2) You can hit the trails early, before they start to get crowded (this was huge for us and we were there during the off season!) read more

This review is for one of the cabins. This place was surprisingly nice - the prices are definitely higher than some of the alternatives, but having a room right in the middle of Zion is worth a bit extra for a few nights. We managed to find a last minute rate of ~$130 for a night. The view is an awesome one to wake up. The cabins don't have a TV and have a gas fireplace instead. They are apparently restored from the original early 1900s cabins. They did an excellent job, except for only putting double beds instead of at least one queen in the double rooms. It makes for a tight fit for a family. The cabins house at least two rooms, so it's not entirely secluded, but that didn't end up being a big deal in our case. The hotel's really big on "green" and I appreciate a lot of their efforts. No straws in the restaurants, no bottled water, big bottles of soaps in the bathrooms vs. those mini bottles, and real glasses in the hotel rooms. The cabins do have excellent wifi. The restaurant is good - a bit on the expensive side, but not unreasonably so. You can always drive 20 minutes into town, but if you're only staying a night or two you won't need to. The kids' menu has pretty decent food unlike so many others - the chicken was actually perfectly cooked (juicy) and quite delicious. read more

When I hear 'lodge' I think cozy. There is nothing cozy about the Zion Lodge. The rooms are stark, not rustic. There were two straight-back desk type chairs in our room and that's it. There are no night table lights, but a wall scone high above the bed. You literally have to get on your knees to reach it. The published pix of our room boarders on false advertising. The lobby has no 'cozy' hang-out areas, just a scattering of uninviting couches, no soft music, there is no fireplace, no outdoor fire ring, no lounge to enjoy (just a group of chairs in the corner of the restaurant), and the restaurant looks like a diner, with a breakfast buffet that makes Denny's look positively gourmet. So that's an all caps MEH. There has been nothing done here to make guest feel special, it is just a place to sleep and eat. Stay here for Zion Park convenience and don't expect much more than that. read more

Location, location, location. If you enjoy the hikes in Zion and want to beat some of the crowds, this is the place to stay. The rooms are good and seem to have some updates, the staff is friendly, and the property is a great space. Only down side is the food, so plan on eating in Springdale. read more

We were truly amazed at the accomodations given it was a national park! Very comfortable and clean. Location, location, location. The Feds have a monopoly on comfort lodging as close to the park as possible. In fact, the Lodge is inside the park! This is as close as you can get with your car. Rooms are spendy, but worth it. You can take hikes right from your door and hit the longer trail because you're so close. The rooms are simple with an arts and crafts decor. Our bed was awful. It dipped in the middle. So, I knocked the review down a star. (We paid for a room to sleep comfortably. Not having a comfortable bed was a negative I could not ignore). The restaurant (Rock Grill) and gift store are okay, but the main attraction is close hikes. We stayed here for just one night because they book solid many months in advance. But, we really enjoyed our stay. read more

Love it! As other reviews have mentioned, staying at the lodge is all about convenience and setting. The view from the room balconies are absolutely amazing. I enjoyed how relatively bare bones the rooms are as staying there is about enjoying the scenery. Although I was surprised to see that it was really easy to get wifi in the park. The park really never closes so by staying at the lodge you can really take advantage of Zion at anytime of day. The food is just okay. I'd probably recommend eating elsewhere in Springdale. Also, if you're a coffee fan, ignore getting any iced coffee drinks from their coffee shop that is open in the mornings. They absolutely don't know what they're doing down there. I had the worst iced coffee ever down there. read more

Caveat: This is just for the restaurant. If you're looking for convenient food in the park, this is your only option, I believe. But, for a place with a monopoly on that, it's not bad. They have a decent variety of choices - a humus wrap, salad bar, burgers, etc. Nothing spectacular, and I wouldn't come here just for those, especially at their prices. But, for something to grab in between hikes, they have a nice variety that will probably be okay. read more

Zion Lodge is a rustic, historic lodge in the middle of Zion Canyon. The rooms are comfortable, but as I said, rustic; for example, the cabins don't have television, wifi, or coffee makers. Staying in Zion Lodge is all about being close to Zion's natural wonders. The Emerald Pools Trail, one of the highlights of the canyon, begins right across the river from the lodge, just a five minute walk. The Grotto, where the Angel's Landing and several other trails begin, is a ten minute walk from the lodge (or just two or three minutes away if you can take the shuttle). The Zion Narrows /River walk area is a short shuttle ride, and is a great way to cool off in the summer. I really enjoyed the tranquility and convenience of staying inside the park. The staff were very helpful. My four night stay in Zion Lodge was one of the highlights of my Las Vegas trip. Highly recommended! read more

My wife and I stayed2 nights during the first week in November 2011. I had never stayed in the lodge of a national park, and my last visit to Zion was about 40 years ago. I have to say it was an incredible stay. We had one of the motel type rooms on the second floor looking toward the cliffs. With a choice of view between the parking lot or the cliffs I would definitely pick the cliffs. You can expect to see deer roaming freely in the area as well as turkey and other wildlife. We did not choose the cabins...they each have a fire place but no television - considering the temps and snow one night it would not have been a bad trade off. The restaurant has decent food...we ate there one of the nights and each morning - the am buffet was included in our room costs. Really an awesome place to spend some quite time...the place was full but we did not hear any of our neighbors while in the room. read more

This place is interesting. Definitely clean and convenient. Rooms are appropriate for the setting and moderately priced. The air conditioning unit in the room is loud but I don't discount them for that. I discount them for the staff being fairly snobby and disinterested. I found this to be true of the front desk, the gift shop and the grill. They all were interested in each other and their conversations. Given this is THE ONLY LODGE in the park, they should've been completely sold out (especially in August?!!) food in lodge is way overpriced and very poor quality. read more

OK, this lodge IS very expensive, and it IS convenient as well. If I put aside the money factor though, I was very pleased with the lodge. The room we had was on the second floor with a balcony, two fluffy Queen beds and a nice, clean bathroom...and an ice machine right down the hallway. Yes, there is no TV, but I didn't mind that, really. The view was towards the parking lot, but when it's evening you sit on the balcony and marvel at the deer running across the street. read more

The cabin was rustic and a little older but was well worth the price to have easy access to the shuttle, trailheads and spectacular views. If you do stay here, be sure and hike the Narrows! There are water shoes and walking stick rentals at the Zion Adventure store in Springdale. Location is perfect because you are inside the national park. Easy walking access to the Emerald Pools Trail. The rooms are clean and have a balcony. The good part is that the shampoo, soap, conditioner, moisturizers are made with natural ingredients. They are all pump style and not wasteful sachets There is a shuttle stop right at Zion Lodge which will you take you to your adventures like Temple of Sinawava (Zion Narrows) and Angel's Landing. These 2 hikes are an absolute must when you are in Zion. Zion Lodge is a little on the expensive end but I think it's money worth spending because it saves you a lot of time driving. There is a restaurant in the lodge which offers breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner, not free but the food is well prepared. read more

I stayed here during a family trip to Zion National Park. Upon arrival, my family was able to upgrade to a "suite" for less then fifty dollars. During the winter months the park is almost empty, so we felt at times like we were the only ones in the lodge. Internet is pretty fast compared to other National Parks, so I was still able to feel connected to the outside world. The only complaint I had, were the late check out fees. Despite the hotel being empty, the property wanted to charge about $80 to check out two hours late. This seamed incredibly excessive to me during the empty winter months. Zion Lodge is where I hung out while waiting for friends, who were hiking Angel's landing. the Zion Lodge has comfortable guest seating, a delicious restaurant, and even a gift shop! Because it is so difficult to get into Zion ( for all The right reasons) , we literally built our three week Grand Circle road trip around availability at the Lodge in Zion and we're grateful to have been able to stay in the park. However, the gratitude ends there. We had a cabin which was "rustic, but clean and well Located. While we are completely vaccinated and 2 week post vax quarantined we appreciated the COVID restrictions in place. My two big. Complaints were the just totally uncomfortable beds. Granted, they were doubles which we weren't accustomed to, but I think they were stuffed with horse hair. My biggest issue was the complete lack of connectivity in the cabins. The excuse from the concessionaire is remoteness and the age of the property. Businesses in Springdale have managed to provide decent internet access. This company is making big bucks on their contract w/the federal government and I believe they should be investing in connectivity because in the Lodge where they are oh so happy to take your money they don't have connectivity issues. In this day and age, we use our electronics for everything. I had to go into town to a coffee shop to download a book to read in the evening. I will Also say, I had two occasions where I asked staff questions and neither one of them had been to charm school recently. However, kudos to the staff in the cafe who were oh so helpful. As stated earlier, don't expect to check in early, 4 PM is pretty much it. The suite we stayed in was spacious and nice, although the shower/tub was a bit tiny. The air conditioning in the bedroom wasn't quite strong enough, it got a little stuffy at night. The restaurant was sort of a joke. The server was polite and efficient, but the food was sub par. The "Firecracker Rolls" were literally frozen Chili's Southwestern Egg rolls, the trout was probably Mrs. Pauls and the strip steak had whip marks on it where the jockey was hitting it and was tough as heck. read more

Nice place. Surrounded by the sheer red rock rocks outside your cabin or hotel room make it worth it. We stayed in a cabin w/ fireplace during the offseason (Dec) and it wasn't too bad. Though we could have stayed in Springdale, UT 5 minutes away and saved money. The room itself was nice. Had a front porch with chairs, a gas fireplace, heater, bathroom, and a seperate vanity. There's a gift shop located in the lobby and a restaurant upstairs. Dinner reservations required. They have another eatery there but it was closed for the season. Overall would stay again. read more

I stayed here last year, got good service, a continental breakfast and no issues with the room. This year the breakfast was reduced to instant oats served from a plastic cup. The room sucked too, it rained one night and there was standing water in half of the room leaving everything (clothes, the edge of the comforter, etc) soaked. read more

Secured a reservation almost 5 months in advance. We got a cabin and stayed for two nights. The weather outside was freezing in minus and the fireplace in the room made it so easy for us. The body and hand wash is something that you need to purchase from the gift shop. Staying in Zion made it easy for us to explore and hike within the park. WiFi was decent the first day and it was horrible the second day. read more

We stayed for one night in the Zion Lodge cabins. We expected rustic - and were not terribly disappointed - but we sure weren't lacking in amenities. The beds and bedding were incredibly comfortable, the restroom was clean and had a spacious "side room" with an additional sink. We could even stand outside and star-gaze from the bottom of the canyon in the middle of the night - and were way closer to the Narrows first thing in the morning, when we headed out. Front desk service was amazing. They were friendly, professional and knew everything. They lose one star for having the beds nailed to the floor - or the wall - so that we couldn't get to the outlet behind the bed, to charge our phone. Luckily there were plenty of other outlets - we just had a lot of things to charge! Costs a fortune but well worth it, at least once. read more

We were at Zion in the recent snowstorm. We had a delightful cabin with a gas fireplace. The kids and I enjoyed the park for 2 days before more storms were coming. Kyla was very helpful at the front desk, and the gentleman at breakfast was also very helpful regarding Zion and Capital Reef NP's. read more

Zion Lodge is a classic national park lodge and historic hotel of America. You need to make a reservation well in advance to get the chance to stay there. The hotel is in the heart of the park and the best part is that you get to wake up and roll out of bed and be right in the canyon. You can walk to Angel's Landing, Emerald Pools and other trails right from the Lodge or take the shuttle to wherever you need to go. The Lodge also allows you to drive your car into the park which is pretty convenient on busy days. During the day it is extremely popular and a lot of folks not staying at the Lodge hang out in and around it, on the lawn and at the restaurants. It was only quiet and peaceful in the evening/early morning. The hotel rooms are very average and have a motel vibe, but everything was clean and there were no weird surprises. Service at the front desk was fine - they help orient you when you arrive. read more

Not bad for national park lodging! The lodge and rooms were super cute and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We arrived at 10pm at night and there was still someone in the lobby to greet us and get us settled. The rooms while basic were cozy and nice. No signs of bed bugs (I checked!). Our room had a deck and great views. Amenities included: TV, blow dryer, Eco friendly soap, and a coffee maker. Note that there is no mini fridge. The lodge allowed a free late checkout at noon and a $20 fee to check out at 1pm which was super reasonable. The great part about staying in the lodge is you get a permit to drive your personal car in further into the park than most people are allowed. I recommend booking your room far in advance. Great little getaway. Our room faced the wooded area and was very relaxing. Loved the rockers on the balcony, we used them as we sat outside and drank a glass of wine. The breakfast was normal, I would have preferred to have fresher pancakes but everything else was good. Only recommendation would be to upgrade the shower heads in the bathrooms. We booked a room during their winter special. After the holidays to get away to such a peaceful place is a real treat. The winter special includes breakfast for two people. Perfect for my husband and I. Reasons why this place is worth booking is: 1.Location 2.Friendly Service 3.You are into ecotourism After a full day of hiking it was such a relief to just walk to our room instead of driving out. At night if you want to stargaze, you can easily find a spot due to lack of lights. Service in general is good. As for ecotourism, not every place is perfect but they do try with recycle bins everywhere and providing enough amenities that doesn't harm wildlife ( it's common to see deers just grazing nearby). For food I suggest to drive out of the park if you are looking for a great meal. Their restaurant isn't bad but the selection outside is better. read more

This is a review for the restaurant on site. Oh god, the food is SO SO BAD. We stopped here on a bike ride around the park, were starving and the food was SO terrible. I got a tuna salad sandwich - ugh!!!! So much mayo, on a hamburger bun - truly horrible. But it gave me enough energy to ride the rest of the way so okay. Next time I would definitely first get a sandwich to go from Cafe Soleil in Springdale. That said, I'm glad it was available because if not we would have had to turn back to have lunch. read more

There are definite perks to staying at the Lodge, like being able to walk out the door and go on a hike first thing in the morning, early access to the park shuttle before everyone else gets here, and being super close to the serene beauty of the park, but they really need to renovate these rooms. I get that they want the rustic look, but we stayed in a suite that smelled musty and everything was dark and dingy. The one good thing about the suite was that the shower and toilet were sandwiched by two separate sink areas, so it made sharing a room with 3 other women bearable. ;) read more

This was a great place to stay! (Note that my five-star Yelp review does not denote a five-star lodging - Zion Lodge is not on that level - but that I just really enjoyed it.) Pros: - If you want a step up from camping while getting to stay in the park, this is the (only) place. This allows you to take shorter rides on the shuttle and get a head start on the trails. - It's a convenient location with a counter service restaurant, a shop selling gifts/postage stamps/etc., and a more upscale restaurant (which I did not try). - You can choose between a room with a TV, or one half of a duplex cabin with no TV but a gas fireplace instead. We opted for the latter. I have a TV at home; I don't have a fireplace! - The cabin is pretty cute and roomy for two. Probably more cramped for a family of four, but the bathroom situation was pretty nice. On one side is a sink, toilet, and tub/shower. On the other side of the cabin is a sink, counter, and ample lighting, perfect for brushing your teeth or drying your hair while someone else uses the actual bathroom. - The bathroom and sink/vanity have giant dispensers full of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion, and they were of decent quality too. - Free wifi. Not very fast though. Photos were not sending, and FaceTime was choppy. - If you stay at the lodge, you get to drive up to the lodge and park there. Other visitors during the busy season must park outside Zion and take the shuttle bus in. - There's a nice porch with a bench. We saw some people sitting on their porch, sharing a bottle of wine. It looked very pleasant. Cons: - Wonderful musty cabin smell. - The walls are pretty thin, so you can hear talking, the shower, toilet flushing, and hair dryers through the other side. - Zion Lodge is much pricier than Springdale. read more

It comes down to this: it was hot and we were hungry. We had no desire to sit outside at the cafe, so we came inside and went upstairs to the restaurant. It was between lunch and dinner but we were still served in a pretty timely manner. I had a bison burger and it was great. We each sucked down about 3 pints of water, and I started to feel bad for our waitress who had to keep bringing refills. read more

My family and I stayed here when we visited Zion. It's great because its located right within the park. This made it so convenient when we woke up in the morning because we didn't have to travel to the park. We were already there and was able to hop on a shuttle to the trails right from there. If you are going to Zion for more than a day I would recommend this lodge just because of the convenience of being located right inside of the park. There is also a place to eat here so it has everything you need. The rooms were also very nice and large. It had a back patio so you are able to sit out and relax. read more

We would have had a 5 star review, had everything gone smoothly and had the customer service been better. Unfortunately, we misunderstood the bus schedule (saw that the springdale bus runs until 8pm and thought it was referring to the shuttle, as we were unaware of the springdale bus). We realize that was our mistake, but we found ourselves stranded at stop 1, which is 6 miles from the lodge at dark on our first night. We had taken a shuttle down to zion outfitters to get gear for the narrows for next day, and tried to catch a shuttle back around 07:00 pm as it was getting dark. The bus driver told us he couldn't help us, and that we had missed the last bus, and even called me a b**ch in fact. So we called the lodge, hoping they could send someone to pick us up (apparently this is an ongoing issue, and they sometimes have to use their van to pick up stranded guests who have misunderstood the bus schedule as I did. There was another family of 6 in the same predicament as us that night). The staff member was not very helpful, so I asked to speak to a manager. She was very flippant and uncaring, and told us to walk back or sleep at the bus stop. I had no idea which way to go, we had been hiking all day, it was dark and dangerous, and a 6 mile hike back to the lodge. We had very little water with us, and I was wearing dark clothes and was very for hard for drivers to see. When we finally arrived back at the lodge, we decided not to make any more of an issue of it, as we didn't want it to ruin our entire stay. I walked by the lodge lobby, and the manager was sitting on the counter, laughing and talking. After the night we'd had, and paying $500 to stay 2 nights, it left a sour taste in my mouth. We loved Zion National Park, and will be back (soon in fact, because we didn't get to hike the narrows due to rain). I would definitely have come back to the lodge, and would've recommended it to family and friends, but now I'm warning everyone to stay away and book in springdale, and take the bus in. read more

My boyfriend and I booked a single King size room on a winter rate (about $70/night), and it was worth it. We had a private patio with a beautiful view of the canyon walls. The room itself was nothing spectacular, but it was clean and well-stocked and carried a southwestern lodge feel. Service was very friendly, and we had pleasant meals at the Red Rock Grill. In fact, that restaurant had so many gourmet options for dinner, that I had a real hard time making a choice! read more

Great location!!! You really pay for the location. We came the first week of January. Front desk super nice. Restaurant service was really bad, but not as bad as the food. We only ate there once. We end up driving to Springdale for everything including the store. The room was ok. The room smelled like dirty bathroom. They where doing repairs to the whole building. We arrived one night after a long day hike to find out they had replace the lock from our room and left a note for us to walk to the front desk and get another set of keys. Their parking is not well lite hard to navigate. If you are planning to do a lot of hikes I recommend just staying in Springdale. read more
