I was there 05/29 for reunion (22 guests in all) 15 guests showed up for dinner…read more Lets start, We had a reservation for 6pm table of 10 the bar tender sent us to the back to a private party. (wrong) we came back in and explained to them we were not here for the party we had reservations for a reunion. bartender and servers look like deer in head lights didn't know what I was talking about. after a few minutes and more of guests arrive then finally oh yeah reservation. Lets put tables together so I helped the server put 4 tables together. Im going to make this long story short My food was tasty but cold (i had the pasta) half of the guest received appetizer plates the other half were given nothing. (we did finally get them 30 - 45min later) Half the guests received a dinner knife and fork folded in a napkin the other half received plastic knife and spoon in plastic wrap. One of the main reasons for my yelp review is the male bartender after being ignored for some time he was finally coining to me I thought to take my order NOPE., " I was told you can't stand there its for servers only" Then continued to get ignored. funny story, while I was at the bar being ignored I notice another patron had ordered the same pasta dish I ordered, OMG the steam coming out of that dish. I wish my pasta dish was that hot. What I don't understand around 6pm there a very few customers inside the bar and like 4 to 5 servers and one bartender. So why so slow to get us our table to get us all plates and to give us all proper utensils. The Good : As already mentioned, the food was good, wings, burgers, pasta, shrimp, avocado dip, etc but mine was cold placing our order for dinner was fast because someone was smart enough to have two servers attend us. The music was good. The atmosphere was good, no trouble, no hoods price was average to any other establishment. I could recommend anything is if there is a table of 10 or more you should one server assign to that table only help if needed. On our next outing we might come here again but hope things will be different when it comes to our service.

Branding Iron surprised me, in a good way. Place was pretty chill, nothing fancy. The staff was…read moresuper friendly too, they were on it the whole time, food came out right and drinks didn't sit empty. I ordered the bone-in chicken with the mango habanero sauce. Mostly because it sounded good and I was hungry. First bite... yup, that was iit. Chicken was juicy, skin had a nice crisp, not soggy at all. Big pieces too. The sauce was the star. Sweet up front, real mango flavor, then the heat slowly kicks in. Bu just enough to make you pause for half a second. Then you go right back in. Everything came out hot and fresh. A little messy, but that's kind of the point. Fingers were a disaster by the end. No regrets. I'd go back just for that dish. Haven't even thought about what else is on the menu yet. That chicken stuck with me.

Had a very offputting experience with this location. I live in Chicago, but I ordered a product…read moreonline for UPS shipping due to an impending snowstorm. Put the tracking number I was given into my UPS app, but the app never updated me, which I thought was strange. Several days later, I checked my UPS app and it showed my order was delivered the day before, to a different city in Illinois. When I tried to view the delivery photo, the app showed that I needed to enter an email address with a different domain than my email address. I called the Wicker Park store, which is the main storefront, and said that it appeared they had sent my order to someone else. The person who answered the phone could not have cared less, told me there was nothing she could do, and I needed to call their shipping service. I asked if they were a vendor, and the store said yes. I asked who had the authority to resend my package, and they said it was up to the shipping service. I told them they were the store that sold me the item and if they were not going to ensure I received it, I was going to file a Better Business Bureau complaint, which I since have done. I called the shipping service and they told me they were actually part of the company, not a vendor. It would have been helpful for the person answering the phone at the actual store to know that, which they did not. I gave the shipping clerk my order number, and they confirmed that my package had been sent to somebody else, living at an address in Wilmette. I asked how that happened, and they told me that the printer they use for shipping labels sometimes prints duplicate labels, and this has happened before. They offered to re-ship my item but in order to ensure I actually got it, I had to make a special trip to their Andersonville store in the middle of another snowstorm to pick it up in person, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. My question is, if they know their shipping label printer is screwed up, and they keep occasionally sending orders to the wrong people, why don't they just replace the printer? Why did it fall on me, and I'm sure other customers, to figure out they had sent my order to an incorrect address, and then to have to essentially beg across two phone numbers to finally receive the order I had paid for? Lots of completely unnecessary stress because this store is too cheap to fix what they know is an ongoing, not insignificant problem. Knowing that they occasionally send things people have already paid for to other people and don't care to fix that issue? That's why I submitted my Better Business Bureau complaint.

Thank you world of Instagram for bringing this place to my attention before we left Chicago!!!!! I…read morecouldn't find the sort of souvenir items I wanted, and voila! The best place ever. They have fantastic shirt designs of course related to Chicago themes like the cicada unearthing (horrifying.... we really picked quite a time to visit), the fun sewer cover designs, the subway loop, Chicago style dogs, fancy architecture, etc. And they've got all these fantastic designs on mugs, cups, glasses, stickers, post cards, magnets, key chains, etc. I was really after one thing which was an artistic designed umbrella. I had one ages ago from the MoMa which was black on the outside and clouds on the inside. It broke and I never had a chance to replace it with another "fancy" umbrella. Here they had one that's black on the outside - and the chicago subway system on the inside. I love it! They have a second location uptown somewhere too which is fantastic. And the staff were so friendly! I love that they have bathrooms for their customers, too. Bonus points there for sure. Highly recommend popping in if you need any Chicago themed gifts.
