Zipcar is really the worst was using this about 10 years ago that was so much better. Now the cars are dirty reek of smoke with all kind of alerts on the dashboard. All the company cares about is money.

This was my first time using zip car. I picked up the car and was immediately disgusted. The previous guest left the car in bad conditions. Very dirty, ashes all over the gears, reeking of marijuana, low fuel, low tire pressure, NO FUEL CARD, and they must've of had an animal because my allergies were bad. I called zipcar and reported all of this on the app. The representative told me there were no other cars available so go figure I couldn't switch the car out. What made me so mad is the fact that they told me I had to put tire pressure back in the car and I wouldn't be reimbursed for it even though it wasn't my fault. COMPLETELY DISHONORABLE. Based on these two incidents alone on my FIRST trip, I would never use zip car again.

Yesterday was my first Zipcar experience. I needed a car for the entire day to run around town, picking up and dropping off boxes of supercool Yelp swag and running promotions. The Honda Civic I rented, the cheapest car in the fleet at $86 incl. tax for a full sixteen-hour reservation, was ideal for this urban jaunt. The car was parked just three blocks from house. Contrary to the user agreement, it had not one drop of gas in it. A quick phone call to the automated customer service line (printed on your Zipcard) to report that fact was made, and off I went to the fueling station. This was a minor inconvenience -- as Mary S noted, you are a bit at the mercy of the prior driver for many things. Otherwise, I had a blast zooming around in the roomy Civic. The trunk was enormous, I could have put my bicycle in it had I wished, and the included iPod cable was a fun touch. Next time I might spring for the Mini-Cooper!

He picked me up at the Philadelphia airport on April 22, and returned me to the airport on April 28. During the airport pickup on April 22, Steve's shuttle bus was full by the time I arrived. However, because Steve could see that I was in pain (I was having severe back pain), he made an exception and allowed me to sit in the passenger seat. We quickly became good friends on the ride to Payless. Upon following the signs for "Rental Car Return" on April 28, I circled the airport rental car center two or three times looking for the Payless car drop-off location. My flight was at 4 p.m., and time was running out. Upon entering the Avis car drop-off location, an employee told me that Payless is not in the rental car center, but rather at an off-site location: 6975 Norwitch Drive. I sped off to that location and was met there by none other than my new friend Steve, standing right next to his shuttle bus. Upon telling him that I was running out of time to make my flight, he quickly checked my car in, ushered me onto the shuttle bus, and got me to the airport on time. I will always be indebted to Steve. Whatever Payless is paying him, it is not enough. Thank you, Steve. Have a great life!

I had made this trip in advance as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and his son! We are visiting his family in Mifflinberg, PA which is 2 1/2 hours away! The original agent could only give me a rate that I could only afford for a day since I couldn't afford the new rate at this location. I just wanted to get to the family dinner that was planned for my boyfriend so I made an impulsive decision to just go with the one day rental and I'd figure it out tomorrow. Thankfully, my boyfriend suggested I call customer service to see if they would be able to refund me, since we were still parked on property and decided to UBER to another rental car place. I called customer service and spoke with APRIL who made sure she added some notations on my reservation and convinced to speak with the Manager. Well that Manager happened to be VINCE MOFFITT & he listened to my dilemma. He then adjusted my rate so that I could afford to keep the car until my departure a few days later. I can't express enough, how much I appreciate this level of customer service. The most seamless rental I've ever had!…read more I don't usually write reviews for rental agencies but this spot really wowed me. I had to book a last minute car for a two day trip. They only had vans listed online which I was skeptical about but I needed to book it. With the online booking you can pick it right up. Waiting outside the terminal, watch for a city sized bus for National, Alamo, and Enterprise. It took a little longer than the other pick up vans but the wait was not long. At the Enterprise stop, you can just walk up to the car and get in if you're already booked. When you drive out, they cross-check the car against your booking. This part took about 10 minutes including waiting behind a car. Coming back to drop off the vehicle, do not get in the rental return car lane. That is for all other rental agencies. Keep going around the circle in the right lane until you see signs for Enterprise. Then take the left into the lot, and follow the drop off instructions by the guys in the lot. All it took was driving up into a lane and leaving the keys in the vehicle. They scanned the car's barcode and check the gas level. That's it. Then walk over to the shuttle bus to get back to the airport. It was faster dropping off than picking up, which was already fast! I had the receipt in my email shortly thereafter. Oh and the Chrysler Pacifica I rented was not like my mom's van I used to drive in high school. Hybrid. Cooled seats. Sound system. Not bad. I would definitely rent from them again in the future.

I came to the area for a couple of days and rented a car here, which I reserved prior to arriving. The car I got was great, service from the folks I came in contact with was nice. The only issue is the horrible bus system to get to/from the terminal. In these modern days, NO AIRPORT SHOULD USE BUSSES for rental cars! I don't care what the reason or excuse - FIX IT!! Get rid of the busses and put the garage right outside the terminal. If you can't do this, then use a light rail system. But busses SUCK! They are inconvenient and in this situation, there were 50 people waiting just for the National Car Rental bus to appear. In the time we were all waiting, the Hertz, Avis, Budget, Sixt busses appeared more than once and only a few people got on them, but the amount of people waiting for kept building up, which told me I needed to run to the front and jump on as soon as I saw the national bus and it was a complete mess when it arrived. Terrible service! (And someone will reply from National asking me to go to a link which is worthless... Not sure why they reply with these canned responses)

No stress about my car being hit or stolen while parked on the street and no outrageous car insurance premiums. When I do need a car for trips back to Rochester or work or...any other reason, I really do not like to rent from anywhere but here. I've now rented 5+ times and have had nothing but fabulous experiences. I am typically in and out within no more than 15 minutes and all of the vehicles I've rented have been safe, new, and included great features. The team here makes sure you're comfortable before departing and clearly walks through the billing. I had an issue where I was incorrectly charged for something and it was resolved same day. The only complaint I have is in re: the Saturday and Sunday hours. As this location is only a few blocks from my home, I really prefer to return here so I have a seamless and easy process. This location being closed on Sunday and only open for a three hour window on Saturday makes that a bit difficult. That being said, I've been able to make it work thus far and I understand that the Center City location is prime for business visitors and less for locals. I look forward to more seamless rentals from here in my future!

They did say that they didn't have the pickup truck I rented, but did have an SUV available which I said was fine. She mentioned a Bronco and I thought that would be great to try out. Then I got outside and found out it was a Bronco 2 which is totally different. I didn't need the extra space, but I was excited to drive something different. I just moved on because I got a good deal and it wasn't a real issue. I drop the car off a couple hours early. I forgot to get gas, but I figured it wouldn't be a big deal because I only drove about 50 miles. It came out to about 2.5 gallons which I figured I would be charged for. Then I looked at my bill and found out I was charged the same amount I already prepaid (approx $140). I just spoke to customer service and they asked about a damage waiver. I said I didn't add anything on and that when I was asked I told them I had insurance already. He put me on hold for a bit and then removed the charge and the taxes to the tune of $115. I said I was fine paying for the extra gas which was $23. I imagine they are just hitting people with this extra charge and then not removing it unless you call and complain because there are a handful of other similar reviews. That's a shameful practice and they probably scam a lot of people out of a ton of money when you add it up. I'm glad I noticed the multiple charges and made a call about it, but I shouldn't have to do that. Do better Budget!

They scam you with a bunch of hidden fees that they tack on days after you check out. I got them through Priceline so everything was paid for in advance with the time of pick up and drop off already factored in. I dropped off the car 2 hours before the set time and was emailed a receipt. Then a few days later came another receipt with extra charges and fees added on. Called several times and got no response. I got tired after week 2 and just had to eat the extra $70- which mind you was more than what I paid to rent the car for the 2 days I rented it! It's like they give Priceline a deal, then make you pay the actual price they wanna charge a few days later after you're long gone and at home and can't argue the extra charges in person. They also try their best to get you with the gas charges. Most of the gas stations are 3 to 4 miles away and even if you fill up to completely full; they only allow you a 3 mile grace on the gas or they charge $10 to $20 a gallon.. The guy tried to sell me a deal where he claimed they were cheaper than all the gas stations in the area and I'm glad I opted not to go with them because they were almost 75 cents more. One of the guys was super slow and very unprofessional with the customers. Was also strange that they never gave me a printout when I left and in order to leave the guy gave me a super hard time to exit with out it!! I'd say to be very careful when dealing with them cuz I could totally see them giving you a car with a few scratches on it and then send you on your way, then later try and charge you because there's no proof of the cars condition given to you upon pick up! Make sure you don't leave without any paperwork or some type of waiver! This spot truly gives Budget a bad name! Thought it was better to choose them over the lower level options but now I know not to ever go with them again while visiting Philly!

What matters is how a company responds when they do. Unfortunately, our experience with SIXT at Orlando Airport was one issue after another. * The vehicle we reserved was not where it was supposed to be and could not be located. * We were placed into a substitute vehicle instead. * The vehicle was clearly not properly checked before being rented. Although the contract stated the tank was full, the low-fuel warning light came on within minutes of leaving the airport. * Late at night, after a long day of travel, we were forced to stop and spend $65 on fuel just to continue our trip. The most disappointing part wasn't the fuel expense--it was the customer service that followed. Despite providing photos and receipts, we spent days reopening cases, repeating the same story, and being told the branch claimed the tank was full. Rather than objectively reviewing the evidence, customer service repeatedly sided with the branch and failed to take accountability for what occurred. Only after escalating the matter and contacting senior leadership did SIXT finally agree to reimburse the fuel expense. However, rather than issuing a check or crediting the payment method used for the rental, we were informed that reimbursement could only be made through a wire transfer requiring us to provide our banking information. Apparently, in 2026, issuing a check or processing a credit card refund is not an option. At this point, it feels less like a customer-focused resolution and more like a process designed to create additional hurdles in the hope that customers simply walk away from charges incurred because of the company's mistake. The issue was never really about $65. It was about accountability, integrity, and how customers are treated when something goes wrong. Hopefully our experience helps others make an informed decision when choosing a rental car company. Based on how this situation was handled from start to finish, we will be taking our business elsewhere in the future.
