I was so overwhelmed with this last move: selling and buying a home with about 1 day to initially move in. Max was the first and most responsive owner to contact me back. Move on a Sunday? No problem! Need to move a heavy one piece of furniture too heavy for two guys? No problem, call for backup! Due to staging and general packout, I also had two storage PODS to unload a few days later. Zmax helped me out with those as well! I was impressed with his general knowledge of moving; even helped us align the huge rental truck we found hard to maneuver! Now on his fourth day of moving services with us, he's almost like family. Even my very picky Max brought extra moving supplies and moving blankets, tape, etc and helped us protect our items even better than what we had already packed them. His rates were incredibly fair and his team very efficient. Max was careful about not damaging either home, we couldn't see a single scratch or scuff after they left. Max + company just recently helped me with a move and I couldn't be more pleased for several reasons: 1. Price + Value: I researched and reached out to several moving companies and ZMax was by far the most reasonable 2. Responsive: He was quick to respond to my inquiry and was very responsive. I was traveling abroad at the time I was trying to arrange my move and had some hiccups with scheduling due to miscommunications with my apartment buildings but Max was patient and was able to make it work. 3. Professional: They called me to let me know when they were on their way and arrived exactly on time and wrapped/tapped every single piece of furniture, including mattresses at no additional cost The move ended up taking longer than I had planned, but that was partially due to the fact that my old unit was on the 16th floor and the freight elevator and loading dock was on the opposite end - so going up and down and to and from was a journey in it itself. Disappointing Moving Service - Unprofessional and Damaging I had a very frustrating experience with this moving service. They arrived three hours late, which was already a red flag. The movers seemed overworked and didn't have the proper equipment for the job. To make matters worse, they broke some of my furniture--damage that could've been easily avoided with better care. In order to make up for being late they offered an additional mover to help, but then tried to charge me extra at the end for this "third person" without prior agreement. On top of everything, the owner/manager was incredibly unhelpful and didn't apologize for the situation. Instead, when I raised my concerns, his response was simply, "What do you want me to do?" Communication was poor throughout the entire process, and it felt like they were rushing to finish the job rather than handling my belongings with care. The whole experience was extremely stressful, and the damage they caused, coupled with the lack of professionalism, left me thoroughly disappointed. I ran my due diligence prior to choosing a mover. There are obviously a lot of other movers out there; however these guys are the best in my opinion being a value guy. For the following reason: 1) Price: These guys had the best price on the market 2) Moving: They wrap everything to make sure it won't be damaged or to make sure it won't fall apart. 3) Timing: Showed up earlier than expected to get things done. I needed my things moved at 9pm (since I had work earlier) and these guys showed courtesy accommodating our move. If you decide to run your own diligence process, you'll see that a lot of movers stop moving at 6pm or so. 4) Process: The loading dock at our new place was locked however these guys were creative and moved through another door despite the extra trouble. 5) Results: Everything done in 3 hours, no damaged or missing goods, and I'm a happy customer. Max and Max are fantastic! We've never hired movers before due to having friends to help and not being able to afford it but this time we didn't have anyone and I was unable to help my husband because I had to watch our little children. I almost gave up hope of finding anyone affordable after calling so many places and getting crazy quotes. Seriously, 1k for a 800sqft house moving 10 miles away with all the packing pre done by us? No way! I was so grateful when Max told me his rates and it was actually something we could afford. Then on moving day these men were BEASTS! They moved everything from our old place to our new place faster than I thought possible. Seriously, it's amazing how quickly everything was done which not only makes them even more affordable (they didn't drag out the work to charge more) but also made it so we could start getting things unpacked asap which is a must with an infant and a toddler with all of the stuff they need. ZMax Movers moved me from DC to Baltimore and made the process stress free! First, I called and Max picked up the phone promptly. He helped me find a date and time that worked, reviewed the pricing and promised to call me the day before. Guess what? Max actually called the day before! Day of: He ran a bit late, but sent a text and called to give me updates on his eta. When Max and his partner arrived they were all business. They got to work promptly. I've worked with other companies and you feel like you have to monitor the movers, make sure they aren't in the truck taking selfies or smoking a cigarette to increase their rates. Not with ZMax. They wrapped each of my items carefully, disassembled two couches, moved HEAVY boxes and never seemed to be out of breath! We then drove to Baltimore and arrived within minutes of one another. Again Max and his partner got to work and had me all moved in from start to finish in 3.5 hours, with an hour commute to Baltimore! If you are moving ZMax is your choice, no question. read more

ZMax Movers had the best pricing in the area for movers - hands down! The pricing was straight forward and they did not charge hidden fees or have a price list for "extra" items. Shrink wrap and tape were included in the total move price as were covers for all furniture. Max and his assistant worked quickly and efficiently. I only had a one bedroom apartment but it was on the third floor (moving to another third floor condo with a loft) and they really worked tirelessly to wrap everything, make sure all items were secure and drop off was great. I had my carpets steamed the day before and Max was vigilant about putting floor covers to minimize any foot treads. I was dreading having movers but the experience was really hassle-free. Honestly they have THE BEST pricing and were super fair. For 3 hours door to door the cost was less than $300 for two guys with a 17 foot truck and taking care to cover everything - GREAT WORK! After going over local movers, I opted with ZMax. I immediately noticed that ZMax had excellent reviews. I was right. My initial contact with Max was very cordial. Max and his crew contacted me prior to their arrival. They arrived on-time and inquired about what items I was moving. They reviewed my belongings and began wrapping all of my furniture and expensive items. This immediately impressed me! They worked very carefully packing up all of my belongings I moved from one part of Alexandria to a new Alexandria location. The move took several hours, as my new residence was within a condo and the use of an elevator had to be used. Not as simple as moving from my house. The rates were reasonable and the crew was very professional. I commented to Max, earlier during the packaging, that I was very impressed with their attention to detail. ZMax Movers is fantastic! Max and Vlad arrived on time and provided a call ahead with an ETA. They started immediately and worked efficiently through the entire move. We moved from a basement apartment with narrow stairways, which made it difficult to move larger items in and out. We then moved in to a house with a very steep driveway. The truck couldn't make it up, so they had to walk up and down the driveway along with the stairs into the house. Oh yea, and it was raining the entire time! They wrapped all our furniture in blankets and plastic wrap at no extra cost and were very careful navigating in and out of both buildings. Even with the difficult moving conditions they were very professional and made our entire move stress free! Oh, and on top of all that, their price was also great! Max and Markov did an awesome job in helping us move our 1 Bed room apartment . It was a local move from Arlington to Falls Church . The price was fair and reasonable. They quoted the lowest compared to all other Movers. They got moving blankets , plastic wraps, duct tapes etc. that was required for the move. They wrapped all the furnitures - including my 70inch TV , Super Sac ( The Bean Bag that is the size of 3-Seater couch) and other furnitures. I had about 30 or so boxes - Including more than 8 heavy duty Large size and Medium size boxes. The 2-Man team arrived on time , wrapped all the furnitures , moved stuff as fast as they could and as efficiently as possible. At the same time , ensuring they didn't damage the items or the floor / thresholds. Both were gentlemen. I would recommend them to anybody for a hassle-free moving in the D.C. area. read more

Max did moving for us last week. I was the smoothest move I ever had. They were ON TIME. Neither late nor early. Called me 30 minutes before reaching which help me finish all the final packing. Extremely professional, everything was handled properly. They did not waste a minute and got started as soon as they arrived. They packaged all my valuable items and had all the necessary tools with them. At our destination, I had to get keys of my new apartment and it was taking some time. Max + team tried to save my time even there. They offloaded some of my items before getting the keys and had stacked them in front of our gate. I used ZMax to move some very large, heavy furniture out of a storage unit where 2 pieces were moved to my house in Fairfax (2 flights of stairs) and the rest to an apartment in Fredericksburg. It was easy to schedule (email and text with Max) and I met them at the storage unit in the afternoon (after their morning moves). They handled everything with care and even disposed of a media rack for me (no extra charge). Long story short, they gave me a flat fee and honored it even when we ended up in rush hour traffic on I-495 and apartment assigned was on the 2nd floor instead of the 1st. I had mixed experiences with other movers (when the furniture was moved into the storage unit) and decided to take a chance on ZMax. They did not disappoint and I will use them again! read more

ZMax Movers did a great job and made my November 2022 move a comfortable and smooth process. I was only moving next door but it was far enough that I needed a truck and movers to do the heavy lifting. I had a 1 bedroom, took 2.5 hrs to load and unload (I moved some stuff on my own prior to the move to save time and money since it was next door). 2 men came, they handled furniture with care, wrapped items, and continuously moved. They were friendly and communicative about their arrival time and my needs. Very respectful and kind! Highest marks. Have used them twice now for two-guys-with-truck in-town moves within and between house and apartment. Totally dependable. When the scheduled move got snowed out by the big storm 1/3/22, they rescheduled for the next morning! --and arrived on time despite hideous conditions, unplowed side streets, etc. Fast, experienced guys, figured out how to get a massive 200 lb. sofa bed up from basement, around tight corner, and out a narrow door in 15 mins just by finding the good angles, turning & tipping, no marks on walls - I've moved many times and this was a pro performance. I would highly recommend using Zmax in the DC area. They brought a large truck, dollies, and all the packing materials needed (e.g., tools, blankets, tape, plastic wrap, etc), which made moving day incredibly easy for me. ZMax really helped our move to a new place smoother and more efficient. As first time movers, we had limited knowledge of what will happen beyond packing up our things. They were very patient with us and worked tirelessly to move the small, the big and the in between stuff. I underestimated the number of things we had accumulated so the move took longer than what we originally planned for but they helped us until the end. They wrapped up the furniture so these did not get dirty or banged up during transpo and they adeptly disassembled and assembled the table and beds. I highly recommend Max and his team.
