Hmmmm... it's been awhile since I've been to the downtown location. I always picked up an Undead Elvis when passing thru the area. Was always a little highlight for the family. Decided to hit the Jordan Creek location while visiting. Not impressed. Not for sure if overall quality is down with the company, or just the location?? Pretty good food court find. I was visiting Jordan Creek TC and wanted to grab something quick and saw they had some yummy sounding shakes. I got the single cheese burger that comes with their signature sauce. (No onions tho). I got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake. There was no line when I got there and the employee was ready for me to order. My shake came out first and right after was the burger. About 6-7 minutes later, my burger was handed over. I enjoyed the burger. It had a nice taste to it and the sauce was yummy too. It was a tiny bit more greasy than I would've liked but definitely better than a chain fast food burger. The price is a bit higher than that as well. The shake was delicious!!! I thought it was going to be vanilla topped with the cereal but once you got into it, the ice cream had cinnamon flavor throughout. Sooo good. Definitely a good lunch spot ! I've visited this location on several occasions, and I don't think I've been disappointed so far. I stopped by for a bite to eat before my movie viewing of The Iron Claw. I ordered the Raygun Burger + Wedding bride shake. This was my first time having this particular burger and I must admit, I was quite impressed. I asked for everything on it except guacamole, and got exactly what I asked for. The bacon was Smokey, the caramelized onions were A game, and those fried jalapeños added a nice heat kick to the mouth. Meat was nice and juicy and overall the taste was a great experience. Keep in mind that it is a little messy though. But, I would order this again! My shake was the wedding bride cake shake and it's delicious everytime. Nice and thick with a great flavor for dipping your fries in (yes it's good), and has a consistent quality taste. It is quite thick so a bigger straw would be recommended or at least stir it around to make it easier to drink. Nonetheless, it was quality and delicious. Lastly, I had forgotten that fries were not included with the burger, so I asked the lady for a side of fries after I placed my initial order. She kindly did not charge me extra nor seem annoyed that I had asked. I was given nicely salted and crispy fries free of charge! I also asked for a side of zombie sauce as I once again, had forgotten it wasn't included. I was also given a zombie sauce cup free of charge too. My total bill came out to be roughly 16.50$ and I was not disappointed! All in all I enjoy this location. I like the fact that I don't have to drive downtown to enjoy this restaurant. Although keep in mind, I don't think this location has the entire menu. It only has a few select items , but there's still alot to choose. Edit: I ended up getting sick from this location with food poisoning. Either Zombie Burger has gone downhill, or this location is a poor representation of Zombie Burger. Burgers: 3/5 - nothing to write home about. They were nothing special. Across the three burgers we tried, the general opinion was meh. Fries: 4/5 - probably the best part of our meal. Loaded fries: 3/5 - flavor was solid but the cheese loaded it too much. Chicken: 1/5 - dry and tasteless. It was horrific, and the 1/5 is generous. Shakes: 3/5 - the flavor was off. The downtown location has the best shakes, and this location had the worst shakes. It tasted like the milk was expired or something was off. Overall: pass this location up. Ordered takeout so that I would have extra time to eat on my break... never doing that again. Proceeded to wait there for an extra 10 minutes (after I had already gotten my food) because they were "making" my shake. It took a questionable amount of time so I asked them about it and they confirmed they were still making it. Just for a few minutes later, them to hand me a melted shake that had been sitting out. There is plenty of seating out in the food court as well. Zombie Burger is known for their shakes and it is really nice to be able to get one and walk around the mall to finish your shopping. Zombie Burger is one of my must-haves whenever I visit the DSM area. I do prefer the downtown location, but when we stay at a hotel near the Jordan Creek Mall, this is the site we visit. Ordering online makes it super easy to grab-and-go from the storefront and bring back to your hotel. I usually opt for the burger of the month and shake of the month, which often represent items that you can't/don't normally see on their regular menu. Orders of fries and other sides are HUGE, so beware when ordering for two people. You can probably get away with one order between the two of you. The three stars are more for the location and food delivery process than for the food itself which is a solid four stars. We had no idea that this was in a food court in a shopping mall and we had been hoping for a sit down restaurant so we were not too pleasantly surprised. When the food comes out all of the burgers are in metal bags with no way of identifying which burger is whose so we all had to open each bag, lift up the buns and try to figure out who's was whose. Rather annoying. We had the brussels sprouts side which was enormous and a decent value at $5.99. The reddish dipping sauce was tasty with a little bit of heat in it, the Caesar one was a hair too garlicky and too thick and did not really go as well with the sprouts. My burger choice was the Sarah's Revenge with a beyond meat patty which was amazing. After looking it up a little bit more online it's clear why it is so good - it is full of fat to mimic a real burger. You're basically only save the gluten and soy that you might get with another vegan burger, but you do get meaty texture and smoky flavor since they do add a little bit of smoke flavor to the raw patty. The bacon on the burger was crisp and not flabby at all, the fried jalapeño had good flavor and the horseradish sauce was delicious. It was easily a seven or eight napkin hamburger and with all of the sauces and different components like caramelized onions so the top bun kept slipping off of the fillings - it was quite messy! Prices are a little steep - especially for a food court offering - but you do get a very good tasting burger. read more

The zombies have made their way from downtown to the Jordan Creek Mall...and they are just as tasty! For some reason I come back to "The Walking Ched." The mac & cheese bun makes a super sloppy but super tasty meal. I tried "Sarah's Revenge" without horseradish, which was nice. A little spicy but not too much. I'm storing up bravery to try the PB & bananas in the "Undead Elvis." That's one zombie I've not conquered. I think "The Lucille" should have meat and something else should be the Beyond Meat burger, given how vicious an adversary Lucille can be. Their fries are pretty standard but adding a bit of cheese sauce or poutine can help. If you can manage, the loaded fries are about perfect. If you're already this deep into your artery hardening feast, you have to have a shake! I can't get enough of that "Zombie Unicorn" but I thought the "Coconut Cream Pie" was pretty good and you can't go wrong with "Chocolate Nutella Marshmallow." As it's all made to order, you can expect a short wait while it is prepared. And as it's a mall location, the ability to find a seat can vary wildly. But at least in this story, you get to chase down that zombie goodness instead of wildly running through the mall to avoid the chorus of "Brraaaaiiinnnzzzz!" read more

I had the zombie unicorn - this is my favorite after trying it the downtown location. This has vanilla ice cream, marshmallow cream and fruity pebbles cereal. Highly recommend this one. If you're looking for a thick, greasy burger with unique combinations on it...look no further! Zombie Burger offers wild flavor mixes on the burgers that leave you gasping for air. I am always impressed when I go here and see all of the different names of burgers on the board with so many to choose from. I ended up getting the double burger which was plenty since it came with cheese curds, fried pickles and chicken fried bacon on it as well. I also ordered the loaded fries, which can be split between two people easy. To top it off I got the zombie Wedding Cake shake which was very tasty but is too thick for the straw. Looking back at it, I probably gained around 5 pounds which sucks but sometimes it's good to just dive head first into a stacked double patty burger. The only downfall of this location is that the mall can be very packed and it takes a while to get the food and is not a pleasant experience eating. One of the quirkiest places I have ever eaten. The zombie decorations in the business are phenomenal. Down to the planters outside having zombies crawling out of the ground, and evil zombie gnomes peering at you. TheElvis burger is what I chose to eat. The peanut butter and fried bananas on the burger combined with the bacon and eggs was a weird yet tasty combination. Descent fast food at gourmet prices is how I would describe this place. I ordered a burger that was supposed to have blue cheese which it didn't. They must have forgotten. My burger still however tasted pretty good but was missing that cheese I was looking forward to. The meat had very good flavor and vegetables there were fresh. The garlic was missing the entire time until I was almost out of fries. It was all on the bottom of the mountain of fries and was almost unbearable because it was clumped up at the end. Fries were descent but again, not what I was expecting. My friend got double patty burger that had bacon and an egg on it. He enjoyed his burger as well but wasn't a fan of the fries that were very short. After doing a double patty and ordering a drink he paid nearly $15. I paid around $10 for burger and fries. It doesn't come with drink nor is there a combo option. It seemed like it's a fast food joint trying to be gourmet which it's not. I think it's way over rated just because it's got a zombie theme. My friend and I decided to try Zombie Burger again so we stopped by the one at the mall. There will be a long line during prime time lunch time, so be aware of that. Though it did move rather quickly so it wasn't too bad. There are plenty of burger choices (some crazy!) and toppings for your fries. They also have shakes too. Don't expect combos, so you'll have to order a burger, side of fries, and a drink separately. I upgraded to the double patty for my burger "Dawn of the Dead", since I couldn't remember if the patties were thin or not. I should have stuck with the single patty since it was quite large and messy, since this burger comes with bacon and a fried egg. I also ordered a side of regular fries since I didn't want my total to go beyond $15 for a meal at a mall food court! So with the double burger (almost $9), side of fries ($2), and a small drink ($2) my total came to be almost $13. Quite expensive for a meal at the food court if I may say. The burger tasted good, plenty of burger goodness. The fried egg did feel a little plastic like, so that was an odd texture while biting into the burger. The fries on the other hand were a dud. There were a lot in the cup that it came in (about the size of my small drink) but they were all tiny! It was like I got the leftover fries. I dumped them out and there were only a handful that were normal size. Nothing special with these fries either, some were burnt too but that didn't bother me. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with my experience here. Maybe it would have been better at the original location, but in the end I'm still basing this on the food...not the table I'm sitting at or building I'm in. For $13 it was way too pricey, and there was nothing special that it can offer to justify that price in my opinion. Unique, delicious, fun, quality! The food here is absolutely delicious. It's very obvious that they are made of high quality ingredients. The Poutine is the best I've ever had (and I've been to Toronto!) and the Mac and Cheese is out of this world. The burgers are the best around. Even a plain ole burger will be worth the trip. But this isn't why someone goes to Zombie Burger. Their unique, creative, and genius combinations make for a one-of-a-kind culinary experience. My favorite happens to be the Undead Elvis (without mayo - I like for the peanut butter to be the main flavoring agent) but please peruse the menu carefully and take a little risk.
