I needed an affordable place to receive dental care, and this wasn't it. Their website says "we…read morework with you, we are affordable don't worry, make an appointment" At my first appointment they did a bunch of X-rays. And then the dentist came in and said my teeth were too bad to clean today and that my bite was messed up and I needed Invisalign. I politely explained that I wasn't going to be able to afford Invisalign, and she said "don't worry we can open up a credit line", as if I was just dying to go into debt over dental luxuries I can't afford. They printed out a treatment plan, and scheduled me a cleaning. The office manager person walked me through the bullet points and had me sign it. It was very expensive even after the discount I bought for $99. Hundreds of dollars for the cleaning, and thousands for the cavity fillings. I haven't had a proper cleaning in a couple years and I really wanted to get one done so I sucked it up and scheduled it. I said "let's just do the cleaning for now" and they once again offered me a credit line. On the cleaning day, they did a deep clean and got underneath my gums and I'm glad they did that. It wasn't horrendously painful but I was having discomfort and I could tell the hygienist was getting frustrated by me. I was trying my hardest to sit still and follow instructions and it definitely felt like she had zero patience. Too much liquid filled up my throat and I coughed and she was upset because I might spit on her or something. At the end she requested a 4 month follow up , and I said I probably wouldn't be able to afford another cleaning for a while, and she told me how irresponsible that was. Like obviously I would love more regular dental care. It ended with her reminding me once again they could open up a credit line. It really felt like they were trying to get me to go into debt over the dental care and it seems like they're trying to trick and extract money from low income patients who don't know better. They really were advising me to go thousands of dollars in debt on Invisalign. As for the cavities, a local family dentist office nearby me offered to fill those cavities for around 1/4 the cost Affordable Dental Care Quoted. The receptionist with red hair was super nice and friendly so I wanna shout her out though.

Gentleman and daughter were waiting, then there was me, then another lady came in. No one was at reception desk. When lady came out around 7:57 a.m. to finally sign into compute, another lady walked in and right up to receptionist and they started talking, even though all of us had been there since probably at least 7:40 (me 7:45). Please note that when she was signing in to her compute, she never said good morning to anyone or even look up to acknowledge we were there and had been there waiting. That would have made a difference. I had already filled out my paperwork online. I told her I was not going to fill it out again since I thought that was the purpose of doing it that way. She asked did I print it out. I said, no, there was nothing that said to print it out and no one from your office said to do so. She said, we don't tell people to print it out. I said, you probably should do so. After she handed me my driver's license, she once again asked was I going to fill the paperwork out, I said no because I had another appointment to go to after this and didn't have time. I told her I did not want to reschedule and asked for the copy of my driver's license. She said, I'll just shred it then. I said, that's fine, and I'll be sure to leave a review. The answer that I got from Georgia Smiles was that they were in network and that the only thing I have to pay was a deductible of $50 that applies to the cleaning service. I agreed and made the appointment. At the time of my appointment I paid the $ 50 deductible, nobody asked me to agree to any other charges. To my surprise I got a bill for an additional $376.74. We made a three way call with my insurance and Gordana, the office manager, and we found out the person who called the insurance company understood wrong, as I was not fully covered. If the clerk of Georgia Smiles did not make this mistake and informed me this, I would have gone elsewhere, but they made a mistake and then threatened to send me to collection for their mistake, risking my credit. The insurance agent informed Gordana of Georgia Smiles that they could file an appeal to the insurance company for this issue. After days of continual follow-up, Gordana refused to send me a receipt of what I signed the day I came in, any updates and refused to file an appeal, only to send me to collection. I have the whole email chain and will include pictures. I had the choice of ruining my credit, or paying an additional $376 dollars. Beware of Gordana and Georgia smiles!!

Dr. Kapur gave explanations and discussed options without pressure. Bottom line: Needed work is done with more durable options at half the cost. Plus excellent staff and pain management. Now, I have a health care Partner, not a Pusher.

On 1/2/26 the visit for my husband and I was nothing short of unprofessional by Ms. D at the front desk. We did not realize my husband's insurance had changed to Anthem from UHC at the time he had already had the fillings. Ms. D went back and forth with me about she needed the member ID number and the provider number. At the time, she was not going to allow my husband to get his cleaning. I asked her if she would allow him to go back, while I get with the insurance company to get the information. AT first she didn't. My husband got upset and walked out. I was trying to tell her whatever the cost would be it would be paid, just let him go back while he is off from work now to get the services. I provided her with a telephone number I was given verbally over the phone with Anthem. Ms. D calls the number and couldn't reach anyone. She proceeds to say "the policy is we don't call more than two times". I told her don't call anymore, I am chatting with the company and will get her the information. I provided her with the ID number. She insist I give her a provider number to call. As we all know, she could have just went to check online just as another provider did over the phone today with the member number and his date of birth to see he was active. She didn't want to do it. She didn't like that I spoke up for myself and my husband to her, and didn't mind correcting her when she was wrong. I ended up chatting with an Anthem person, and they provided me with the Provider Number and the Member ID. Gave to her, and which she still did NOT contact. Let's guess. the policy. Yeah ok. She first charged $175, then she charged another $625.00 once someone showed her she didn't charge the correct amount. I provided her with my card to charge it. I asked her okay, so when you all file the claim will yall reimbursement me. She told me I needed to get reimbursed by the insurance company. As I was about to leave, Anthem rep told me once the claim is filed, they will send payment directly to the provider and I would have to coordinate reimbursement from provider. I went back inside and read her what Anthem rep stated. Ms. D then says well yeah that's how it would work. She says they have to let the outsourced person know to reimburse. I called back to speak with an office manager. Ms. D says they don't have an office manager. I asked for the owner to give me a call. Ms D replied "she will give you a call". I said well earlier you told me a he. In addition, Ms. D blatantly refused to provide the discounted rate like she added on the $10,000.00 original rate of a future treatment plan. I asked her about the discount being added on today's visit since it was self pay and she goes "since things went the way it did (or something similar to that)....." then mumbled something else. Ms. D is very unprofessional, condescending, and vindictive. I have taken the extra step in researching Dr. Marlon Brown's telephone number, and left a message. As of today, no phone call so we will not be going back there. It is apparent by other YELP reviews, the front desk/office staff is very unprofessional and I'm Not the only one who has such negative encounters with Ms. D. There needs to be an office manager who is not related to or personally know Ms. D. I am requesting my husband's claim be filed, and make sure yall office reimburse me for whatever the insurance doesn't pay. I have already asked Athem the covered percentage for the codes D4910 (80%), D0120 (100%), D3120 (80%), D2392 (80%), and D2330 (80%). I am requesting refund of all monies minus what the "contracted" rate no later than February 1, 2025 or I will be filing a grievance with the insurance company.
