After nearly 21 years as a patient of this practice, I am writing to formally notify you that I will be transferring my dental care--and that of my entire family--to another provider. This decision is not a reflection of the dentist or the clinical care, which has always been satisfactory. Unfortunately, it is the result of ongoing issues with the back-office billing process under the current office management. Due to repeated billing negligence, I was forced to pay over $600 out of pocket, ultimately including payment to a collection agency for charges that should have been properly handled and reconciled by the office. Today, when I contacted the office to have my account reviewed after resolving the collection, I was placed on hold for over an hour without resolution. After nearly two decades of loyalty, this level of billing mismanagement and lack of responsiveness is unacceptable. Patients should not bear financial consequences due to administrative errors, nor should they have to expend excessive time attempting to correct them. As a result, I will be transitioning myself and my family to a dental practice that demonstrates greater accountability and appreciation for its patients. read more

After getting taken by Sage Dental and poor repair results by Freeman Dental I came to Lipson for a free consultation and I'm soooo glad I did. Dr. Gilleland and Dr Gupta told me I didn't need all of the expensive dental work the other 2 dental group tried to get me for and they fixed my issues for a lot less with great results. Dr. Gilleland even totally re-did my crown because he did not like the way it was sitting, he didn't just try to drill and fix it. I really appreciate him going the extra mile. Lipson Dental has terrible business practices when it comes to billing. On becoming new patients this summer we were assured our insurance was accepted. We've had several visits including routine cleanings, fillings, and a crown between my husband and have always made our payments at the end of each visit for the amount requested. My husband went in for a routine cleaning this morning and was met with an "over 90 day" hefty bill of leftover charges from all of this years previous work after our insurance claims were settled. We never once received a phone call or bill in the mail from Lipson Dental and believed our account to be current. When I called to have our xrays transferred to our new "in-network" dentist, I was met with criticisms from the office manager Carrie about how terrible our insurance was and criticisms against my husband and I for not doing our own due diligence digesting our own insurance claim explanations to see if we owed any additional amounts to Lipson. Not one phone call was received or notice given that we had an overdue balance and these leftover charges kept accruing over a 6 month period with no notice to us from the office. It should not be on the patients shoulders to check in with the office to see if we have any outstanding balance. Any patient would be upset about an unforeseen large past due amount when no notice had been given. Carrie went out of her way to make us feel less then and unable to afford their charges with terrible insurance instead of owning the office's mistakes in not giving proper notice about our dues. We are a military family, yes and with affordable insurance provided by the government thanks to my husbands years of service. I've never felt more degraded in my life just for being a military family. Shame on the office manager for handling this matter the way she did. Carrie just assumed we were unable to pay in full instead of seeing and hearing my grievance against their poor billing procedures. No patient should ever be made to feel this way. And yes we were able to make the payment in full. If you respect military service members and the work they do for this country do not go to this Dental Office. read more

Our Dentist retired and referred us to a Buckhead practice that was competent and personable. And expensive, and pushy with add-ons and questionable interventions. Based on Yelp reviews, I tried Lipson Dental for a second opinion after a $10,000+ estimate from Buckhead's Best. Their communication and technology are first class. Dr. Kapur gave explanations and discussed options without pressure. Bottom line: Needed work is done with more durable options at half the cost. Plus excellent staff and pain management. Going to the dentist was a fear of mine as a child. After years of horrible dentists around Atlanta I was finally put in contact with Dr. Kapur. The mishaps of my previous 'dentists' were seamlessly taken care of by the knowledgeable and attentive dentists and hygienists at Lipson Dental Group. You know that a healthcare facility is well run when the staff has been the same for years, the equipment is top notch, and the materials and workspace are always sterile. Today's visit was one that I called to schedule a few days ahead. The office staff was friendly on the phone and even friendlier in person. It took less than a minute to be checked in, which is a testament to the high quality service. The waiting area is very nice and has enough TVs, books, and magazines to keep people of all ages occupied. The actual patient rooms have very comfortable seats that look newer each time I visit. The staff makes you feel at home by offering you sleek eye guards and the choice of what TV program to watch. My cleaning was done by Mrs. Tina and Dr. Kapur. This was my first time being worked on by Mrs. Tina. She was gentle with my teeth and we had a really pleasant conversation (as pleasant as it could have been with someone's hands in my mouth)! Seeing Dr. Kapur is always like seeing a friend, except he knows if you're lying when you say you floss every day. One thing that I always appreciate is the amount of time that Dr. Kapur spends not only catching up with you, but also explaining what is going on in your mouth. He showed me X-rays of my teeth next to real pictures of my teeth so I could visualize what he was saying. Luckily for me, he was showing how my teeth improved since my first LDG visit years ago. Before leaving, I made sure to schedule my next visit for when I get the teeth whitening trays that were specially molded for me by LDG. A few added touches that make this place over-the-top special are: -The beautiful Georgia greenery that can be seen from the patient rooms -The quirky paintings on the wall that are dental themed -The goodie bags to make you feel like a kid again Thanks to Dr. Kapur and the wonderful people of Lipson Dental Group I am comfortable going to the dentist and actually somewhat enjoy it! 5 out of 5 dentists would recommend LDG if their bosses allowed it. Dr. Lipson's office is a great friendly place where everyone remembers who you are and what is important to you. They are clean, nice efficient, friendly and fast. However, notice that I did not say cheap. There are deffinatley people out there trying to rip away your money and Dr. Lipson's office isnt one of them but they are not the cheapest dentist on the market either. But I dont how you feel, but id rather spend a little more and make sure that things are done the right way, the first time, which will always happen with this office. read more

Dr. Rishi Kapur has been our family dentist for so many years. We first found him when he worked for a franchise family dentist office located in our area. The location was convenient and Dr. Kapur was great. A couple of years later he moved to his current practice, the Lipson Dental Group, which became a 30 minute drive for us and out of network for our insurance. We started going to different dentists in our surrounding area trying to find a good replacement. I became extremely disappointed with the alternative. On several occasions, these other dentists would recommend unnecessary work just because our insurance would pay for it. That's when I realized that Dr. Kapur is worth the 30-minute drive and out of network expenses. He truly cares about his patients, and does what is in their best interest, not what's best for his pocket. From major work to routine visits, Dr. Kapur gives each case his utmost attention and care. The reason why I searched long and wide was because I was looking for a very good dentist who could give me a nice handsome smile, because I had very crooked and some bad teeth .. Lipson Dental is the place to go! I am 21 weeks pregnant and needed a tooth extraction. I had been battling this on and off pain for 3 weeks. I was hesitant to get the procedure done but am so thankful now. Dr. Gupta, Stephanie and Tomeka( I think that's her name) we're beyond amazing. It took him about 10 minutes to extract and I felt absolutely nothing. Stephanie was incredibly sweet. Throughout the entire procedure asked if I was alright and overall calmed my nerves. I never have to wait more than five minutes to be seen. The office is extremely clean and looks amazing! Every member of the staff is friendly and personable. I am very happy with the dental work that I have had done with the Lipson Dental Group. I struggle with very bad anxiety at dental offices and this place puts me right at ease. The dental hygienists are all very kind and talkative and soothing when they are working on you. I love how each room has a big bright window. The room I'm always in has a big window and trees outside. The view looks like something you'd find at a high-end spa. It really calms me down. The dentists are knowledgeable and professional and I'm in and out fairly quickly. The entire atmosphere is very welcoming and airy. It does not have a cold, clinical feel. There is great attention to detail and everything is for the benefit of the patient. When I am sitting in the chair, I get a blanket and a neck pillow! I'd imagine this place is great for kids as when you lie down flat in the chairs, there is a TV directly overhead and you could watch and listen to it with headsets. Today was my first visit at Lipson Dental Group and it was the best experience! I hadn't been to the dentist in almost 6 years. I chose Lipson from word of mouth and very happy patients. From the front office to the back everyone was so nice and made me feel very comfortable! My dental hygienist was so sweet and gental during my cleaning. Dr. Kapur made my day after polishing away these ugly stains on a few of my front teeth, which I thought was caused by me taking a nail file to them when I was younger, but NO! He was sure they were from my old braces that I had almost 15 years ago! In less than 5 minutes he polished away these embarassing stains! I was SO happy I cried.
