All In Adventures is located inside Crossgates Mall in Albany. It's easiest to access by parking near the JCPenney entrance and taking the escalator up to the second floor near Zara. The space itself is a little unassuming from the outside, but the real razzle-dazzle begins once you enter the rooms. You get to choose from about 9 or 10 escape room options, and our team chose Black Ops, which I definitely recommend. Our host, Zach, was friendly, informative, and did a great job explaining the rules. One thing I really appreciated was that they don't actually lock the rooms because they care about guests not feeling claustrophobic. I thought that was a really considerate touch. As a team, and with a few hints lol, we successfully completed the mission. I had an absolute blast. Also, this was the first escape room I've ever successfully escaped from, so that was definitely another win for me lol. After the room, your team can take photos in front of a green screen. I will say this area could use a little improvement because the props were a bit lacking, but honestly, outside of that, I have zero complaints. So yes, five stars... partly for my ego's sake lol.

The challenge level was perfect (a bit of a challenge, but not frustratingly difficult) and we enjoyed that we could work on tasks both separately and together instead of having a linear progression of clues where you work on just one task at a time in order to move on. My experience with Tru Escape was so much better than with another escape room that I went to recently and I can't wait to return to try a few of the other rooms!

This is not the worst (that was in crossgates mall...that one was AWFUL, i think it was called Escape the room), but certainly no where near the best. The room was the serial killer room. It was decently decorated, the lighting and feel of the room was appropriate and kind of on par with other good rooms so there was that at least, so that was already much better than Escape the Room at crossgates. I was disappointed in the lack of secret second rooms and trap door type of stuff that the good rooms I've been to have. The clues were mediocre....mostly finding one key after another or a three digit code for a lock, which is ok but really not creative enough. I've been to rooms where there were intricate puzzles, games, computerized clues and laser beams and very clever stuff that the company clearly put money and thought into creating. Unfortunately I have not found such a place in the capital region, not really sure why. All the escape room owners around here need to take a clue from places like Fox in the Box in Miami, where I was recently on vacation and did two amazing amazing escape rooms that blew my mind. Tru Escape serial killer room was ok. Better than the godawful room I did at crossgates mall in albany at least. But no where near how good I know an escape room can be. I MIGHT try another room at this location but I can't say i'm as excited about it as I would be at like Fox in a Box or something. If you are a beginner to escape rooms it might be a good starting place for you to get a feel for what they are like, and the decore is pretty good. At what point do you close until you get some of this repaired? I couldn't believe that this place was even open with the amount of games and machines that were out of order. I almost wanted to ask the employees, half jokingly, " isn't this embarrassing?" And we go here somewhat often, maybe every two or three months, and some of the games have been out of order for months and months, including the escape rooms. With Dave & Buster's literally down the corridor, you would think they would make these repairs a priority. I don't ever write reviews, I was just dumbfounded.

The puzzles were clever but not too difficult to do in an hour, and we appreciated the way everything was connected. The staff were very pleasant as well. I truly love me some puzzles, but you want my people-hating, claustrophobic self to PAY to get locked in a room with people??? No, thanks. Then a couple of months ago, my coworkers bullied me (lol) into going to an escape room with them. I honestly didn't know what to expect, and was dreading the entire thing for days leading up to the appointment. Escape Time doesn't look like much from the outside - I was extremely unimpressed. But as soon as you step inside, you realize the true meaning of, "it's bigger on the inside" (iykyk). The front desk area is pretty spacious and had some interesting and fun decorations. I appreciate the little best times/high score board. I think if I did more rooms, I'd love to get my name one a high score board somewhere. The staff was very friendly, and we met our game master (it's been a while :( I forgot her name ). She was honestly kind of amazing. She gave a thorough introduction, and she was great at reading our group throughout our game. She kept hints to a minimum as she could tell that we wanted to figure things out for ourselves. I have to say, I was extremely surprised by how much fun I had. The puzzles were nothing at all like I expected, and there were a lot of nifty surprise elements. I really appreciated how they paid attention to small details and crafted those details into the story/puzzle. I ended up having such a fantastic time, I went back a second time last weekend. We had a different game master this time (Liam), but he was also just as great as the previous one. I don't know how Escape Time finds these employees, but they made both experiences incredibly pleasant and smooth. For my second visit, I walked away feeling the same sense of appreciation for all the fine details. I'm obviously being vague, but that's to save from ruining any of the fun surprises in store for you at Escape Time! Honestly, if you never thought you'd do an escape room, I'd check this place out. I think a lot of it has to do with who you go with too. Pick a couple of people you don't hate collaborating with, and give the place a chance - I was personally very pleasantly surprised, and excited to come back to try all of the other games here.
