I recently joined this gym for the space, friendly vibes, easy location, and classes and during my tour and for the four times I've gone I was never informed that they are moving to a storefront next to Elway's. The gym is now literally in an abandoned retail location with concrete floors, zero mirrors, and no classes. Not only is the set up less than ideal (sort of feels like they are getting ready to auction off all the equipment), to add insult to injury you now have to pay for parking. Absolutely not what I signed up for and if I had known I never would have joined. The staff is super nice, but this is beyond. Totally unprofessional to not update member about major changes. I'll be calling the main office to cancel on Monday. read more

This is the most poorly run gym I've ever experienced. Upper management clearly needs to understand how to run a business. They started clearing out the equipment weeks ago, with signs at the door indicating renovation was underway. There was zero communication to members, and as I understand it most of the trainers/staff were left in the dark as well. Then only after the gym is emptied of three quarters of the equipment... they tell us there's a temporary location. Luckily I had signed up month to month, but even after canceling I'm having to pay for two extra months that I won't be using... which is not how the month to month commitment was explained to me initially. I'll be keeping an eye on my billing to make sure they don't continue to deduct from my account. To describe this place as shady is an understatement. read more

Where do I start? Zone and Prestige Fitness merged a couple years back. Over the last 12 months, Zone closed three Prestige locations and now have only four but they are far, far apart. Aurora will probably be closed next (hush hush). The management knew the closures were going to happen yet did not disclose then pushed hard for early renewals. Not good. They should be reported to antitrust@ftc.gov. At the Cherry Creek location, if you like to lift weights this is not the gym for you. And after three Prestige gyms were closed one would think Zone would populate any insufficient Zone gyms (CC) with the equipment from other gyms but they did not. Cash crunch so sold to MEXICO! They could have transformed the $90 month Cherry Creek gym into a premier gem, but they blew it despite feedback from members. In other words, they do not listen to members but they do listen to Benjamin($). They are so inept, they cannot even keep the Zone app up to date. They still have classes for the Denver (not Cherry Creek) location even though they shuttered it a year ago. See image from March 12, 2023. This is what happens when high school graduates try to run a gym chain. Too dumb to understand basic lease management, asset management, and member service. They over hire personal trainers and over solicit trying to get members to purchase personal training services. In December I was informed that the club would be closing. I assumed that was the end of the contract and that I would no longer be billed. That was not the case. Zone athletic clubs purchased their contracts and continued to bill me. I didn't find out about this until I began receiving collections charges and a derogatory mark on my credit report appeared after my CC number changed. I called and attempted to work with the business to have the derogatory mark removed. The woman on the phone literally had the nerve to ask me for my CC number and said she was going to "help me out by only making me pay an additional $40" I had already paid for 2-3 months without any use of any o their clubs. I had no idea any additional clubs existed. One last thing, the woman on the phone said the company sent emails and mailings informing members of the change. That's all bs. I've had the same email and same address ever since I moved to Denver. I received nothing. I tried to contact the General Manager - Jason, but was told he was unavailable. I was also told the owner's name was Brad, whom I have also been unable to get in touch with. This company has incompetent operations and even worse ethics. STAY AWAY! read more

It's all been said in other reviews here. Went from a great gym to a poorly run low budget experience while charging the same amount. No real information, no real options to end contract, misleading members, dusty concrete floors, cheap and rough towels, no locker rooms, no showers, no mirrors. Just one big abandoned department store with a bunch of gym equipment. This is not what I signed up for. I tried to talk to a manager to end my contract and was given a phone number for a third party who had no interest in listening to me and certainly not interested in letting me end my contract or refunding my unused contract amount. Worst part for me is that they lack integrity and feel okay charging the same amount for such a different and terrible experience? Why not allow people to end their contracts or refund members' unused contract value? read more

I was informed that this was a maintenance fee, which is useless since I only have a couple months left of my membership, and on top of that I was told the previous representative gave me the wrong information the last time I called. Shady business. I have been a member at this gym since 2015 and only canceled because I moved to a state where there is no Zone. Not only was I told my membership was canceled when it wasn't, the company continued to charge me for several months. I was only able to stop the charges by notifying my bank that I did not consent to the membership fees. Since then, I've been harassed multiple times a day by their payment collection company. The gym will not respond to my emails or return my calls, but I get several emails and calls from their collection company trying to take more fees. I also have a $600 credit from unused training that they refuse to return. Be careful when you put your card on file here. The corporate office will make it hard for you to leave and there is zero customer service. For the record, I paid my fees and wouldn't be surprised if they try to charge me again for June. I miss this being run by Harry Reo and part of TruFit. It has gone downhill since TruFit sold it to Zone and Harry left. There are clumps of dust on the open ductwork of the ceiling, fans and on air vents. Dust bunnies under free weights and other equipment. All throughout COVID they had a single table with bottles of various chemicals not properly labeled and all right next to one another. Their cable machines have needed the cables to be replaced from use for almost 2 years now so they catch during your lift where they're worn out. Their seated quad machine was broken for over 6 months while they waited on a part (insert eye roll). They rarely seem to even clean the floor in cycle room once a week, so forget daily, it's absolutely disgusting. The continually have a toilet out of order in the women's locker room. They lost half of their "promised covered parking spots" in the garage so parking during prime time can be extremely challenging. It's a shame they can't get it together and make this location as great as it could be since it's the only place in the area (for the time being). It's disappointing. I wish they would simply take the time to clean and maintain the equipment and care about their members safety and customer experience. read more

We've been members at Zone for three years. Jason the DM, is fantastic. If there are any member issues, he's quick to handle the matter. DeDe (sales) is kind and professional. We adore Master Trainer Caroline! She is professional and incredibly knowledgeable--a true educator. The new FM Daylon is terrific, easy going and approachable. The other trainers are pretty cool too. Front desk staff are consistently lovely. Thank you Jack, John, Conner and Shay/Shea. You guys rock!! I had a negative experience with one young yoga instructor/previous front desk staff, now new trainer. This "trainer" sighed when I couldn't understand her movement instructions. She seemed nice enough at first, but yikes, her unpredictable mood swings and silent treatment when she's in a bad mood is quite noticeable. Clearly not professional. She is super passive aggressive! I will never give her my business, never again. The only gym feedback: (1). It would be great if the gym could improve their deadlift section (i.e. remove the carpet and instead add REGUPOL AKTIV FLOORING for gripping). (2). Invest in more cast iron Kettlebells, SkiErg, Steel Mace, rucksacks, and other equipment one may find in a state of the art gym (i.e. Equinox and Austin Cross fit gyms). (3). It would be great if Zone could resume normal pre-Covid operational hours, since there are many working professionals who cannot work out until or after 9pm. read more

I joined this gym before it was even opened and was called Trufit. For years, I loved it. It was convenient, kept clean, and the equipment was well maintained. It felt great to work out there. Even the towels were soft and plenty to go around. Then over the last year or maybe when it became Zone Athletic club everything started to go bad. The place was no longer kept as clean, they put rolls of paper towels everywhere and it started to look low rent. The soft towels went away and were replace by literal rags that people use to wash their cars. They are rough and leave remnants all over your face/body when you use them. The A/C no longer worked downstairs. The equipment was left unmaintained and most recently, they moved to an abandoned department store with dusty concrete floors, no locker rooms, no showers, and no amenities. This place is NOT a gym. It's a department store with a bunch of gym equipment. It's worse than the home gym I had in my basement in the 90's. No one seems to know what's going on. Either they don't know or they are refusing to share any useful information. Too bad. I paid for my membership up front and there is no way to cancel unless you have moved more than 25 miles or have some kind of health issue. How they can charge people the same amount for this current situation is beyond me. I believe they should reimburse people for their unused memberships and allow them to move on and leave on good note. Maybe they'll come back. They should at least extend people's memberships by the amount of time they're going to be in this department store free of charge. Or maybe they should just shut down and let it go rather than becoming a gym that clearly is hanging by a thread. As my parents used to say... "I'm not angry. I'm disappointed." Got an email saying the time they were closed during the spring would be credited, but never was. Went to cancel after paying for March to November (even though we didn't use it) and was told they would cancel me but would charge next month's dues plus the annual club fee anyway, even though the fee is for the year ahead. Club policy... I get everyone is struggling during COVID but that includes the gym members too. Now I won't come back when Covid is over, nor will my wife. read more

I've only been a member for about 5 months, but in that short time the gym has only gotten worse. They used to have a nice space downstairs with deadlift platforms, HIIT space, etc. Since joining they removed two deadlift platforms, which they said would be replaced and never were. They moved the deadlift space to the area you see in the pictures which is a complete mess most of the time and has been treated as a space to simply throw any random equipment they have. They are more focused on creating OrangeTheory like classes than an actual gym. When my year contract is up, I will not be renewing. read more

Followed my personal trainer to this gym. Otherwise would not have joined as I've been a member of Prestige before (Prestige is rebranding as Zone) and the equipment was always breaking, front desk people look like they definitely don't want to be there, don't say hello), and Cherry Creek Zone was pretty much the same but I was there because my trainer was there and my son and I spent $1140 a month in training. My trainer left and had both verbally and then by email told the manager (who has since left) to cancel my training and my sons. The manager apparently did not cancel at the verbal request, not at the email request so subsequently Zone took out the next months training cost. Jason the district manager refused to refund this amount. Or in fact any of it. His reason was that the email was dated 23 days and not 30 days notice. Despite my trainer having verbally canceled the training prior to any email. So they basically have me held to ransom at a gym I don't like, and am unlikely to use, with a total of 31 personal training sessions that have gone down the toilet. Jason: completely unhelpful. I've never left a review in my entire life but this place is unbelievably frustrating and a waste of money. They operate on a contract which I never do for my gyms but place seemed nice (sauna, turf, every machine/free weights I needed) and I had no plans to move. 2 months into contract they got kicked out of their building and are in a "temporary" location. It's been 2 months here now, there's no locker rooms, no parking validation, the floors are uneven in the building, obviously no sauna or high end amenities that you'd expect from $100/mo. They give you the run around when trying to discuss the contract and generally will get rude with you for voicing complaints since the actual owners pawn off all the frustrations to their employees who aren't even at fault. Before Covid I called to cancel my membership and was told it was OK as I was a veteran and was month-to-month. Then a year later the gym sells all of a sudden I'm told I owe almost $400 for not coming in to cancel or send them a letter. Which I would have gladly done if they told me that over the phone not when they said it was OK. And I still get messages for me to re-join, they are so disconnected to there clients. They have zero interest in building loyal customers. I called the collection company they sent it to and they said that is sound like i want to get out of not paying. Typical collection company lingo. Why should i pay for a service i didn't use and was told over the phone i was good. Then wait forever saying i owe them anything. Really bummed about recent changes. The value of this gym has plummeted. No heads up about the location change or the quality of the new gym. Parking is $2 for 1 hour, $3 for 2 hours. If you go to the gym consistently, you're spending more than your membership on parking. There's no sauna and the locker rooms are just closets. No filtered water, just some old drinking fountains. Really loved this place before and the front desk staff/trainers (Ty, Kynan, Ben) are super friendly and welcoming. I reached out to management about receiving a discount until they are back at the old location instead of cancelling and they offered $5 off which covers maybe two days of parking. Honestly a slap in the face for current members and I've heard they are heavily discounting new memberships. Still haven't decided if I'm going to cancel but Lifetime fitness is a similar price after you include parking and a way better gym. Moved to the Denver area and checked out Zone because I saw they were locally owned and not a "corporate" gym. I'm so glad I did! My membership allows me to go to all 5 locations and each are unique and offer a variation of ammenities that I LOVE. This location has towels, sauna, crossfit room, and an ideal location on 1st street. When you visit Cherry Creek, ask for DD! And to those that write negative reviews about billing...it's a gym. Gyms have contracts to protect their business. Read your contract and ask questions. You won't have any issues. read more

A few months in equipment started to disappear and they said they would be renovating the space. One day I went to the gym and it was completely closed, turns out they moved to an old run down department store as a temporary location. They did this with little to no notice or heads up to members. Now I have to pay for expensive parking 5 days a week on top of an already expensive membership. ($60+ extra a month in parking). We are paying for amenities that we don't have available to us at the new location. We no longer have locker rooms, cardio rooms, classes or saunas. I went to cancel my membership and it is extremely difficult to get into contact with the management company. In addition to this I am being charged for two additional months that I will not be using. This place is a scam, avoid it at all costs! read more

If you are a Senior and reluctant to go to fitness training sessions, Caroline Wheeler, at the Zone center in Cherry Creek is just the trainer for you. Well-educated with a sophisticated knowledge of the human body's musculature, Caroline is the trainer you want to have. I have been a client of Caroline's for 4 years. Her knowledge of the physical needs of us older folks (I am 74+) is incredible. In all this time, I have never gotten hurt or sprained anything. We work on balance, strength, and flexibility. Ask for Caroline when you sign up. You will be glad you did. I have read the recent negative reviews. It's unfortunate that these folks have not had a good experience. I have been impressed with the attention paid to cleanliness, disinfecting, distancing, and keeping the place spotless. When I am there, there always seems to be 1-2 people wiping down the machines and vacuuming. It is SO much cleaner than the competitor I had been attending. I have always been welcomed by the receptionist, had my temperature taken, and been treated with respect. I do not take this for granted. I hope to see you there. read more

Just a shady business all together. For a health and wellness company, you have some unethical business practices. Although you pay your last month when you join, they still require a 30 day notice. That means you need to know more than 60 days in advanced to cancel. What persons life works that way? Upon expression of this, I was told 'yeah pretty much' and when I mentioned disputing the charge, Jason was so kind to threaten collections of that charge. With the amount of gyms to select in that area, DO NOT JOIN ZONE. You can get better customer service and better business practices at Orangetheory, plus actual results. read more
