I hired Zoom Drain to fix a simple clogged drain. They sent an inexperienced technician who initially cleared the clog but then went back in aggressively and cracked the pipe, causing major flooding and extensive water damage to my home, including the first floor. Instead of taking responsibility, the company blamed the issue on "old pipes" and has been completely unresponsive to my repeated calls and requests to speak with a manager. To make matters worse, after causing thousands in damage, they had the audacity to send me a bill for hundreds of dollars. This business has shown a complete lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer care. I strongly urge anyone considering Zoom Drain to look elsewhere. read more

Spent $300 dollars to snake a drain, found a clogged section of pipe, swore up and down I needed a high pressure trailer to come clear the pipe and guaranteed it would clear the pipe. $1300 dollars later they got nowhere not a single foot past where they snaked. My advice to anyone going forward save yourself the money and go rent a power snake from sunbelt or HD. Tried to call the rep in Scarborough to settle on a reasonable price for their time and he just gave me the run around. Also they didn't show up on the day scheduled but called last minute and changed it to a day nobody was around to supervise the work. read more

We were initially very happy with the responsiveness of zoom drain. They showed up on time and cleaned a mess that a clogged pipe In a basement toilet caused. They also provided a video of where the clog was and the cause of it. The toilet was removed since it wasn't being used. We needed permissions from both our neighbor and the city due to where the crack was, so we told them not to come back and remove the damaged walls, etc. until we got that. While waiting for this, another back-up occurred because they didn't cap the space where the toilet was. We contacted zoom drain and they said it was our fault since we didn't have them come back. We questioned why someone with their experience wouldn't automatically have done this, to which they had no response. We now have to hire another company to take care of an issue that we already paid zoom drain to do. I would not recommend them. They did not take responsibility for the poor work they did read more

They came out to unblock basement drain. Tech asked if I wanted Hydro Flush or snake. I said, "I don't know you are the drain cleaner" Went with Hydrio, signed an IPad approving a $350+ charge. Didn't work, only made a very slow moving drain. Tech suggested trying to snake, again another 350+ charge, signed iPad approving. That worked. so what was suppose to be a 350 job was doubled. They charge by the procedure, not the job. read more

We knew for the past few years that our septic tank has roots. When bathtub and washing machine use resulted in rinse water on the floor in the basement we knew it was time to get drain help. Zoom Drain was recommended by another company who did not have adequate equipment based on my drainage description. I phoned Zoom on a Friday around 2pm. She could book me for 8am Monday then saw that a technician 45 minutes away had completed a job. The Zoom team arrived around 3pm and before 5pm a clog was cleared, D box found, pipes examined and my questions were answered. Tristan and Joe worked well together, were polite and courteous, patient with finding the lids of the tank, and efficient in clearing the clog. When we presented them with the drawing of the septic they gave measurements for where the D box is for ease in the future. All in all I'm very satisfied with their work and clean up of the service call. read more

I think it's fair to tell you why I won't be recommending Zoom Drain. First, let me state the positive - the worker was a nice guy to talk to. We spent quite a lot of time discussing old houses before he started the job. But two things prevent my recommendation. 1. I told him I would separate him from my dogs when he stated he didn't like dogs. That worked for awhile. I did assure him the dogs are friendly. But he was in and out of the house and one of my dogs was confused be being put out and brought in repeatedly. So instead I went outside when the worker went out. My dog was in the yard and when she came towards us he kicked at her. I then swiped at her and took her inside. In my mind there is no excuse for kicking a dog who showed no sign of aggression. I would never rehire a company that allows that to happen. 2. The worker opened the septic cover and told me the problem was a full tank. I immediately called my regular septic service. The worker assured me there was not a clogged drain. When I asked if he could use a camera or some other process in the drain he told me it wouldn't be worth it. After he left my septic service arrived and asked me to run water while they watched the drain into the tank. Nothing came through. They then said there was a plug and using the suction from their truck they removed the plug within seconds. So I paid your worker for telling me there wasn't a plug, whereas if he had completed the review of the situation he would have been able to fix the problem, and I wouldn't have had to pay two separate company's bills. I hope you can see that I have two legitimate reasons not to recommend zoom Drain- one, attempted abuse of a client's pet and two, a failure to adequately assess and solve the problem for which they were hired. read more

Joe, this guy, is the best. We first used zoom drain over a year ago to fix our backed up plumbing in an old mobile home. This dude crawled under the tiny sink area and did everything he needed to do to help us out, being awesome, nice, and chatting with our 2 yr old and noisy dog, not letting them bother him one bit.We then moved and had the same issue in our new place and they sent him out the next day. Again, he was fantastic, remembered us, and took the day to get the issue fixed. Well, last night we had a huge leak when our kitchen sink pipe popped off and started pouring all over the floor. Joe came over the next morning and it took him literally 5 minutes to fix it!! I've never needed an emergency plumber before, but when your septic tank is backing up into the house at 9 PM, you can't wait til morning. The dispatcher was very kind, and she had a technician call me in less than 20 minutes. Tristan arrived about 30 minutes later, spent time assessing, and got to work. He explained the costs before starting and exactly what he had to do. By midnight, he had cleared the clog and cleaned up. I was satisfied with the cost, considering how late is was and how much time he spent. I hope I never need this service again, but if I do, Zoom Drain will be my first call. read more

We had our main line back up due to root profusion on Sunday afternoon of Labor Day weekend. We couldn't use any of our plumbing without splashing water and whatever else was coming down the drain into our basement. We had just bought the house a couple of months prior, so this issue was completely unknown and quite a surprise. Within 45 minutes of calling for service, the tech arrived (thank you Tanner!) to save us. He quickly diagnosed the problem, communicated exactly what needed to be done and our options of how to go about it, as well as what it would cost (there was an additional charge because of the holiday weekend, but we were told that up front before he was sent out). Once we agreed on the best course of action, he was able to get the fixed within a couple of hours. He was very experienced, knowledgeable and a great communicator. We were so relieved that this plumbing emergency was so quickly resolved at such an inopportune time as a holiday weekend. It was worth every penny to have it fixed quickly. Mental note- plumbing emergencies generally happen on holidays when most companies are closed! Luckily, Zoom Drain is reliably there to help when you most need it! read more
