I called Ben for a drainage issue, and he was able to come out the same day, which I appreciated. During the visit, he checked the cleanouts and plunged every drain in my house and garage. He did not run a sewer snake or inspect the plumbing vent, yet after about 30 minutes he told me everything looked okay and charged $150. The very next day I messaged him because the problem had not improved. My toilet was still gurgling to the point that water would burp back up and splash onto the floor. He told me it was probably a venting issue, despite never inspecting the vent during his visit (I have video footage of the inspection). Since the issue persisted, I contacted the town the following week to inspect the sewer connection. They found a significant blockage at the connection between my sewer line and the town's main (photo attached). I'm glad I sought a second opinion, because the actual problem was never identified during the initial visit. I also never received any follow-up after reporting that the issue remained unresolved. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this plumber for diagnosing sewer or drainage problems.

American Mechanical & Plumbing was recommended by someone on a local community Facebook page so I contacted him by phone. He was very easy to talk to and he confirmed my suspicions about the old well line being no good. He recommended trying to lay a temporary poly line above ground but given the distance and grade it just wouldn't work but it wasn't from lack of trying. Jeff and his partner tried for a few hours with no luck and then only charged us for the fittings. Fast forward a week and we had another great guy doing all the excavation and he and Jeff linked up and came up with a plan to get water back on. Excavation guy did his thing and then this morning (July 12th) he showed up and had everything connected and water flowing in two hours. He came up with the idea to ditch our old shallow well jet pump and put a pump in the well with a 20 gallon pressure tank in our basement. What an upgrade. We really can't recommend him enough. Installed the wrong size (too short) and didn't complete the job yet demanded payment of $3100. They told my tenant to call an electrician to finish the job. Electrician charged $750 and left a conduit connection hanging from the ceiling to the top of the hotwater heater which was too short to connect to the wall where the previous one had been. Also did not provide any paperwork or instruction manual and I had to contact the business repeatedly so I could register it for warranty. The manufacturer also required them to fill out a form which they hadn't done. i did get them to honor the quote of the outrageous price of $3000 and deduct the $750 for the electrician because I hadn't paid them yet. Found them dishonest - especially by adding that extra $100!
