It's easily overlooked along the HWY en route to Sellersville, where we travel from Philadelphia to attend cultural events at their theater. it's in a miniscule strip set up, not far from WAWA on RT 309. Walk inside, modest setting with paper tablecloths that feature a map of the Greek islands and wall photos of Grecian seaports. We found the food flavorful and nuanced, the portions generous and the wait help attentive. These were not help wanted servers either, Greek-inflected speech as genuine as the food. It was relatively quiet (i DO so despise those wall-mount TVs that are proliferating in restaurants - at least this one was modulated), we could indicate where we wanted to sit, and the appetizers and main dishes were carefully choreographed in a way that permitted us to eat and arrive at our theater date on time. Was looking to have something different for lunch today and decided on Opa which I had stumbled into a few months ago for dinner. The dinner had been delicious, but the 25 minute drive put the spot off my normal radar. I had a Falafel and Greek Salad, which came with pitas. The serving size was enough to take half home, which I finished off for dinner. There were 4 falafels which were very tasty and the salad was equally enjoyable. My wife had a gyro and French fries. She remarked about the wonderful taste after her first bite, and this was confirmed by her finishing it completely, which rarely happens at a meal. The French fries were also very good, cooked to the level requested--we'll done. The waitress was very pleasant and efficient. I'm sure I'll rethink the driving time as it is not usual to have such enjoyable food twice in a row. I had dropped off my motorcycle at the Cycle Center for an inspection and I was on foot. From traveling this way a lot, I had seen their restaurant and really wanted to try it. I popped in at 12:30, lunchtime, and found a nice table at the front. They were half full, which is a good sign. My hostess/waitress was very cute and nice. She spoke with an accent which is another plus. I ordered a falafel sandwich with greek fries, and a side greek salad. It arrived in about 8 minutes and it was all delicious. The greek salad had a bit too much dressing, but it was flavorful and fresh, with the lettuce crisp and good bite. There were a few olives and some tasty feta on top. The falafel sandwich was sitting on a pillow-soft pita, with fresh veggies, tangy tiziki with a pad of cheese. The falafel was crispy and tasty. Loved it. I never thought I would find such excellent, authentic Greek food tucked into a small strip on Rt 309 near Souderton. My experience is just further proof that one does not need a fancy location or lots of frills to have good, simple food at a fair price. The restaurant is clean and bright. It is a small place, with the kitchen right out in the dining area. I love being able to see and hear and smell the kitchen when I am dining casually, so it was great that it wasn't tucked in the back. The place is BYOB which helps keep the cost of the food down because they don;t have to pay for a license. I had the greek burger, and the meat was perfect. All too often the burger gets pressed and processed, but this was just perfect, cooked evenly and ot mashed. The meat was soft, juicy, and the bun was toasted just right. With the hot crisp fries and a small greek salad, it was an excellent, no frills meal. My wife had a gyro, I don't remember which one but it tasted great. The dill sauce was homemade, everything is homemade actually, so the freshness was notable. We will repeat, for sure. read more

My favorites here are the chicken soup-homemade and addicting. I also like the beef with orzo in a red wine sauce-wow! The Greek salad with homemade Greek dressing is super fresh and healthy. I like the soft potatoes in a lemon sauce. Next I will try the whole fish dish or seafood pasta. The ambiance is nice and they have table outside. It is easy to miss as it is on the highway. I am a first generation Greek American and am very picky about my Greek food. Opa hits the mark on just about everything. If you've never tried Greek food, it is waaaay more than just souvlaki and gyro. The entrees are plentiful and well prepared. The employees are all very attentive. Special orders, changes, substitutions, etc are all fine and dandy. My only criticism (and warning) is their idea of a chicken souvlaki. Mustard?? Ick. Tell them you want the chicken souvlaki prepared like a gyro (tzatziki, LTO, etc). The location is kinda funky as it is in a small strip mall, but the interior is well appointed with a great sound track of bouzouki music playing in the background. My son's birthday dinners are taste explorations and this year in Covid, venturing out was not an option. I have passed Zorba's Opa weekly and never considered it a dining destination. My son wanted to explore Greek this year and so we plunged into Dash and Zorba's. Family of four, all different selections, 100% excellent. This is the first Greek place we have tried in the area but we got take out from here and it was excellent. We both got the beef and lamb platter and the food was great! The meat was delicious and moist and the tzatziki sauce was some of the best I have ever had! The fries were also amazing! I'd love to tell you about the food, but I walked out. I'll never return to find out, either. My husband checked the website and saw that this place was open until 10. We heard good things about the food, so we thought the 30 minute drive from our house would be worth it. We got to the restaurant at 9:05 and we were ignored which was super awkward because there were no diners in the restaurant, but the waitress was right there and an older guy behind the desk. He saw us standing there and ignored us. After about 3 painful minutes the waitress stopped cleaning, didn't acknowledge us, and waived us to a tiny table in the corner with a couple of menus. My would-be chair was under a florescent sign that competed with my head for space. I asked if we could sit somewhere else (in the EMPTY restaurant, where I would be able to sit up straight, not hunched). The old guy behind the desk addressed us immediately for the first time since we walked in, "She's cleaning the rest of the room. We close at 10!" It was 9:10 at that point. Delicious gyros, as a matter of fact all the food was very good even though I can't pronounce or spell any of the dishes they were very tasty. Absolutely delicious! Dined here tonight for my daughter's birthday, and it was great! The portions were large, fresh and flavorful. We started with the spanakopita, which was wonderful. I had the chicken soulvaki, my husband had the lamb and beef gyro and my daughter had the pork soulvaki- all were outstanding. I know this place has pleased many people and the food was decent but BE WARY when you go here. My wife got a chicken gyro and could have choke on a sharp bone in the pita. They completely disregarded it and made us pay full price. The waitress was obnoxious and hardly spoke a word of English, and the man cooking it laughed when my wife showed him the chicken bone. Go to Yannis or Main St Pizza in Lansdale or the gyro restaurant in Q Mart if ur looking for a good gyro. Also Red Lion Diner in Horsham makes a phenomenal gyro but its about half an hour away. Opa is a great place if you're looking for authentic Greek food. The owners and staff are really nice. The fact that it's a BYOB is also appealing. The calamari is delicious! A good appetizer for a group is the tzatziki or hummus. The soups (lentil and lemon chicken) are also good in summer or winter. For entrees the pastitsio, papoutsaki (stuffed eggplant), and Mediterranean chicken or shrimp are tasty. The vegetable platter is great for sharing. I've been here with vegetarian friends and they're normally surprised at how many options they have from the menu. Also, their lunch is good too. All in all, Opa is a pretty cool place because you can sit in and have a nice dinner if you choose, get gyros to go, or anything in between. read more

I used to frequent this place a lot when I lived in the area. I ordered a gyro sandwich today and I was appalled when I opened the container once I got home. Not only did the price go up (used to pay $7.5, now it's $9), but the size of the gyro and amount of fries had shrunk significantly from a year ago. There was barely any meat in the pita but there was plenty of lettuce (some of it stale). If you're gonna charge NY prices, then you better deliver high quality NY food. Most of my visits have gone the traditional Sovlakis, Gyros and Spanakopita route but it has plenty more to expand into like Yiouvetsi Sti Gastra. Ordered here before and the gyros were decent so we called in an order the following Sunday. They totally gave us a bunch of stuff we didn't want and charged us double what we were expecting. We had to run all the way back even though we were starving and were treated very rudely like we were idiots. Really don't need this on a Sunday night and we won't be returning. read more
