    Do you guys hold events?

We are receptive to weddings or something of a similar size and profit margin. We are also open to doing events with a maximum of 200 people such as a wrap party for a film or something like that. Stay away from anything that is like a dance… Read more

My wife found the most amazing property in California. Probably the closest thing to a castle in all of America. Even more of a castle than Hearst's castle. Both of our families came and stayed for the weekend. I devised a mystery puzzle game which was accommodated and accentuated by the venue because of all the rooms and places to hide. The Wifi is great, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen is the best place to hang out and be with family. The only thing that is tricky are the roads and the volume levels. There is no cell service in some areas while driving but you just need to be aware of this and come prepared with a pre printed map just like in 1999. Its very easy to take a wrong turn and up on the Rim of the World. Full disclaimer for weddings: Don't do it here. Its not because the venue is bad, its because of the neighbors and the location. Parking is a nightmare if you have any more than 7 cars. There is no designated lot and the garages are off limits due to storage. So if you park on the street on Sycamore, you are good as long as all your tires are on asphalt. The sound. Keep in mind this house is in the middle of a quiet forest. you can hear sound travel very easily so when windows are open and there is a party, everyone around can hear it for miles. Also, the house is huge, and maze-like. If you have ever played the first Resident Evil and gotten lost a few times you know what I mean. All in all this place is amazing, but do not get your expectations too high for a wedding or an event. Its a huge property in the middle of a forest, of course its hard to get to, of course there aren't enough bathrooms on the ground floor. Of course there are going to be minor inconveniences. IT'S A CASTLE. IN THE FOREST. The people who built it went bankrupt. We should all be so lucky to get to enjoy this wonderful property! Also, I left my laptop there and the property owners/managers sent it back to me the very next day!! If thats not professional and courteous service I don't know what is. All I know is I had a great time and I'd do it again. -Stan

Some of our closest friends joined us here for the weekend and we had an absolute blast with them at the castle! We didn't need to leave to go to a bar or restaurant. We enjoyed our time in both family rooms, the pub downstairs, the kitchen, the study and the outdoor backyard was the best for photos. We want to go back around the holidays when there is snow. This place is beyond impressive. I truly had the best birthday and this location was a huge part of that!

It sat vacant for a few years and briefly reopened as a performing arts space in 2013 but was forced to shut down. After being declared a historic monument, it underwent a complete renovation by new owners in 2015. The building changed hands again in 2023 and functions as an event center and a shared common workspace. This three-story venue has rooms upstairs. Downstairs is the main room with lofty ceilings, large windows, wood floors, a kitchen, bathrooms, and a stage for a DJ or live bands. Downstairs is a speakeasy style bar and the backyard is also a nice spot for an outdoor reception. I've driven by this place numerous times thinking it was just a church. I recently saw that there was a Holiday Market Place being held here so I stopped in to do some shopping. There was a man on the front lawn making pupusas and people sitting at tables enjoying them. Inside is quite spacious and there were several vendors selling their merchandise. The tables were nicely spaced apart, so it was easy to browse. This realty is a nice spot for an event or to use as a shared workspace. *Street parking only.

CRATES. they barely had any garbage disposals for us to clean. main thing was the workers under the company look lazy and rude. if we didn't clean, they would keep the deposit. I don't think a reception of that size would be overlooked by the host and simply wasn't disclosed that significant detail. for the price of a different venue with all services for cleanup, seems like it's better to go somewhere else. plus, no parking and it's only street. interesting space but pass.

It offered the beauty, flexibility, romance, and intimacy we were looking for. Plus, Susann (the owner) was one of the nicest people we'd met along the way and offered to officiate our wedding for free. We booked our date based on the garden's availability, put down the deposit and signed the contract. Fast forward a few months later and Susann called me. We played phone tag for a few days (she's not a very responsive emailer/caller). Finally we talked, and she told me for some reason or another that the county had intervened at her garden and said she could no longer have weddings there. I. Was. Heartbroken. She arranged for us to move the wedding around the corner to the Zane Grey Estate, so we quickly revised our contract, invitations, wedding website, etc. Only to have her cancel on us three months later (and only three months before the wedding). She gave another excuse from the County as to why we could no longer have our wedding there, and at this point we were just done with her "backup plans" and excuses. Not only had we spent hundreds of dollars printing our invitations, but we set the date based on her availability, and then she left us in the dust. Although she said she had spent our deposit money to re-do the landscaping at the estate, we were able to get our deposit back after a couple months. I was thankful for that much. Fortunately my father in law has a huge backyard and we threw together an amazing wedding there. In the end, it taught us that the wedding is more about my husband and I and the community that supports us, not the pretty venue for the perfect photos.
