Fifteen miles from Reading, there is finally a substantial Chinese vegetarian menu, a whole page of vegan entrees. My sweet friend scoped this place out and sampled a variety of dishes for me before taking me, so cool. There is all the traditional stuff, and then veg duck, chicken, and ham, crafted from tofu or seitan. The seitan duck is particularly tender and good. We loved the scallion pancakes too. My friend special-requested curry sauce for her tofu dish, and it was really tasty; hope this gets onto the regular menu. A nice touch is the bottle of spicy sriracha rooster sauce on the table, yes please, since Zou's can be a bit shy on the spice. The great thing is that there is always something to come back and try. But I ask you, is there a demand for vegan food in Morgantown, and who is buying this food enough to keep it on the menu? I hope it stays. I don't *have* to have mock meats, but they are a nice treat. The building is on the end of an aging strip mall called the Clocktower, but the location atop a hill is nice, and you have a view of the area when you sit in the windows. Pretty chandelier. too. Prices are very affordable, and it is BYOB. Our bill was $52 for 3 appetizers and 4 entrees. Our recommendations would be to turn down the lights a bit at night and add a few candles and some music, and please, something other than news or sports on the tv if it must be on. They don't seem to focus on their dining room as much as their takeout. There wasn't a wine bucket for our white wine; we will bring one next time. In the middle of our meal, the owner's little boy came out festooned in a cute zebra hat and waved his large inflatable sword at us. I wish I had a picture. We considered it our entertainment.

Good, not great. Got the crab rangoon, general tso's and the vegetable lo mein. The crab rangoon was awesome, got 6 big pieces for 3 bucks. General tso's was 10 bucks but had a big portion. Chicken was decent but not amazing. Semi chewy. Lo mein was decent too. Noodles didnt have a lot of seasoning but were ok. 7 bucks for a big portion. Overall id give it a 6.5/10. Might go here again, but there was definitely hits and misses.

Owners seem nice. Food is average to below average. This is the better place to get Chinese in Morgantown, though.

I'll be honest, I didn't know much about this place going in, but I'm really glad I went and I'll definitely be back. Walking in, the first thing you'll notice is a beautiful, large fish tank built right into the wall on your right. The restaurant is dim and upscale-feeling, but still very family-friendly and not loud or overstimulating, so you can actually have a conversation. They have both booths and tables, and the space is very open and spread out. As a parent, you can even strategically seat your family in view of the fish tank or the windows to give the kids something to look at. It's great for a casual family dinner, a date night, or even a birthday celebration. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible with no ramps, you can roll right in to your table. It's located in a plaza but set apart, so parking was never an issue. Plenty of spots, including handicap parking up front with just a short walk to the entrance. They have a solid variety on the menu including alligator bites, burgers, pasta, salads, and more. It is on the higher end price wise. Most entrees start around $14 and up, and even the kids meals begin at $8.90. The cocktail menu is extensive and the dessert menu is worth a look too. They also have a lunch menu where prices vary a bit more favorably. I ordered the Coastal Cheddar cheeseburger burger with no tomatoes and it was excellent. Very fresh, well seasoned, and served with shoestring fries that were equally on point. They also bring out a ciabatta loaf with butter to start, which was a really nice touch. Food came out quickly (always a plus). The staff is genuinely incredible. There's a tag team mentality where anyone on the floor can help you, refill your drink, or check on your table. My server was very attentive, and even when they got busy someone always stepped in. No reservations needed, at least when I went which was on a Sunday around 1pm. Highly recommend!

My favorite was the Lobster Bisque. It was creamy and deliciously balanced. The clam chowder tasted like "old soup" as per my daughter's review. It was OK, but did taste like it was canned and therefore we didn't eat more than a few spoonfuls of it. (The crab and lobster soups were gone.) We both thoroughly enjoyed the gator bites. They were well prepared and very tender. My daughter enjoyed stated that she was surprised it reminded her more of chicken than what she had expected. The dipping sauce added a nice touch and was not too peppery or spicy. It was well balanced. The seafood gnocchi was filling and flavorful. My daughter enjoyed it and had enough leftover for another meal the next day. I thoroughly enjoyed my lobster roll and ate the whole thing. There was an abundance of fries, which I did not eat. They were good, but did have a bit more of a greasiness than I prefer. The drinks were typical Coke products, which wait staff were attentive to keeping filled. The ambiance is a great place for a casual quality meal with family, friends, work colleagues, or a date. The salt water tank in the "lobby" is always nice to look at. The place is always clean and well maintained. The booths are spacious and you can talk comfortably without being crowded by other patrons. I love this place because the food is always good and the atmosphere is calming with the dim lighting.

Fortunately, the wind/sun shades were down so we had a nice outdoor dining temp even though it was a little windy/chilly with temps in the upper 60's. Our waitress was helpful and explained that it was a busy night so the kitchen was backed up, but that was to be expected-the parking lot was pretty full so I could tell Kyma n Johnny's were probably busy inside. We enjoy eating outside so the Dock is a nice option. Our meals were good. The lobster bisque is fabulous. Nice chunks of lobster and flavorful. I also enjoyed the coconut shrimp with a great dipping sauce. My husband ate all of his patty melt and shared some onion rings which were tasty. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because it was very loud. It definitely wasn't a quiet evening at the Dock. The owners can't control traffic, but the High Steel traffic plus rigs, motorcycles, etc on 272 added to the noise of the bar area. We can live with the noise...it's just one of those things that make it a little less than perfect.

When the waitress finally arrived, she mentioned she was the only one working and implied that the slow service would continue throughout the evening. Thankfully, my husband quickly looked up another local spot, and that's when we found Captain Krab Cajun Seafood & Boil--what a blessing! Not only did we enjoy incredible food and exceptional service, but both the server and the owner went above and beyond to make our daughter's birthday truly special. We were treated to fresh, delicious seafood, a sparkler candle dessert, a plush gift for the birthday girl, and even a light-up birthday sign! We felt like part of their family. We ordered oysters, clam chowder, boiled eggs, baby clams, and snow crab legs--everything was perfectly cooked and packed with flavor. You can even customize your meal by choosing from four different seasonings and five levels of spiciness, which makes it ideal for families or groups with mixed tastes. One of the most fun parts? You can write on the walls, tables, and even the ceiling! They also have a claw machine for the kids (and kids at heart). We'll absolutely be back next time we're in town! P.S. It's BYOB!

We ordered several dishes to share, but unfortunately the food did not seem as flavorful or fresh as it had been the last time. While the restaurant has great reviews, I feel many people may be going mainly for the sushi, which does seem to be their strong point. The other dishes we tried were not impressive. The red and green curries we ordered were bland and quite lacking in flavor. The chicken in the red curry was especially disappointing, as it was very tough and completely tasteless, almost as if it had been pre-cooked or frozen and then microwaved before being added to the curry. We also requested broccoli in one dish and asked for no cabbage. Although the server wrote it down, yet the dish did not come out that way. We asked for brown rice, and they did not have that either. The mango salad used to come with cashews and all mango, and now it was with peanuts, with a little bit of mango over a lot of lettuce. We also clearly mentioned that one of our guests was vegetarian, yet the server did not thinking to ask us whether we wanted to omit fish sauce from the mango salad. We found out after tasting, that there was fish sauce in it. The service was polite, but I do think the staff could use some more training in anticipating customer basic needs, especially when guests are sharing multiple dishes. We were not given serving spoons or plates, even though it was clear the dishes were being shared. We had to ask and it took a while to arrive. We also had to ask for straws, napkins, and chopsticks. Surprisingly, we were told they had run out of chopsticks, which was unexpected at an Asian/sushi restaurant. We noticed several people eating sushi with their fingers, us included. The sushi by the way, was very good! Another disappointing part of the evening was the wait for our bill. After finishing our meal, we waited at least 20 minutes before receiving the check, even though our server knew we were done, and we could see her behind the desk just leisurely chatting with another server, while she wiped place mats. Overall, I was unfortunately not impressed this time. The staff was kind, but the food and service details did not meet expectations. I hope this was just an off night, because our previous experience had been better.
