Everyone has different experiences with businesses and I had a really good experience with the entire crew at ZR. I found they through Yelp and the process from the start was great. We had a lot of companies come out and give us a few estimates and we decided to go with ZR. The team was great, I have no complaints about anyone. Everyone was very responsive and when they said they were going to be at my home at 8AM, they actually showed up at 7:50AM so that was awesome. I did have to change my plans a few times on what I wanted to do in the front and back yards, and honestly they were awesome to work with on it... they really helped me and were never upset that I wanted to change things. We did the clean up and removal for stage one, and that took a few days as I had they trim my trees too. They did an amazing job. They picked up after themselves were very clean, made sure all of the leaves, branches, well everything was picked up and put in the large dumpster they had brought to the house. They picked up all the trash from their water bottles and anything they had from eating. Stage two was a little longer than I would have liked but that is because I decided to have landscape job done over the holidays. No one is to blame for this one. They communicated with me no matter what... and with all the rain CA was getting we had to push out the job... again no their fault. But, they made sure to text me and keep me posted on when they would be coming to complete the job. I would 100% recommend them to everyone. They did an amazing job, exactly what I asked for. I hate writing this. It reminds me of when I was a teacher, and a student I really liked earned a really bad grade. I didn't want to say anything negative, but I had to do my job. And, honest feedback is my job here. So... Kimberly & Diego (co-owners) are really nice people. It was obvious (from their oldest review being only one month old) that they are a new business, and I like supporting small local businesses. (It does seem a little unnatural if they were able to get 12 reviews, all 5-star, in only one month of business.) Anyway, they came over and gave me a price I was happy with. I was surprised that they didn't follow up to schedule, so I followed up with them and scheduled the work. It was to be the first of several projects (the second one in a couple of months and the rest after that, assuming I was happy with their work). Scheduling took a little back and forth. They suggested Sunday and I said it was the one day I couldn't make it. We settled on Saturday (although it could have been interpreted as Friday). I was home on Friday and they didn't come. On Saturday, I sent a text and got no response...and they didn't come. On Sunday (remember...this was the one day I told them I could not be there!), they sent a text saying they were on their way! I reminded them that I told them I wasn't home and that they should have come yesterday. No response. On Monday, I sent a text to find out what happened. No response. So, the bottom line is that they are really nice and offer decent prices, but are unreliable and unprofessional when they screw up and, of course, I can't say anything about the quality of their work since they never arrived to do it. I do hope they get it together and create a successful business. But until then, just 2 stars. read more

Kim, the owner, replied immediately to my inquiry and we made an appointment to view the property so they could give me an estimate. 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, no one had shown up. I tried contacting them to see if they were still coming. We waited 10 more minutes and got no response. We have family visiting from out of town and could not wait any longer than that so we left. As a result. I cannot comment on the quality of the work. I've used ZR Pro Landscaping for some time now and it was good until it wasn't. Due to the over zealous amount of rain these past few months my backyard that isn't landscaped (as of yet) grass had overgrown and it needed to be cut, I requested ZR and its team to cut down what seem to be like a jungle back there, they said no problem they'll do it for the month of March. With explanation of pricing , it was expected that the service would be completed within the month of March. According to Kimberly, it wouldn't be completed until April 3rd. Which therefore means it'll be work left over right ? Right. After asking that the services would be completed in March since I was charged an increase to complete the service , the team did not budge on wanting to finish in the month of March. Kimberly did offer me a discount , however services were still not going to be completed until April 3rd. We agreed that if they come on April 3rd they can charge for the clean up. However, I wanted to pause on my twice a month maintenance. April 3rd comes around and noticed the team did NOT show up for finishing the lawn clean up job. After reaching out to Kimberly , there was no response. Here it is almost 2 weeks later and no explanation as to why the job wasn't finished. read more

I talked about what type of work I needed done on my front yard and she was very thorough in explaining and detailing the services that they offer. We spoke briefly about the scope of the job and afterwards, he immediately got to work. I had somewhat of mini jungle but Diego and his crew pulled out weeds, trimmed the bushes/plants/hedges with ease. Just great professional work. He also gave my front yard some weed spray care to keep those invasive plants from coming back. The price was fair to me considering my yard was getting pretty overgrown and out of hand. I had used ZR Pro last year and was satisfied with their work. So, this year when I needed someone, I contacted them 3 weeks ago (4/7). We agreed that they would come on Monday, 4/10. They didn't and no call. I called them and they agreed to come out 4/12. They didn't and no call. I called them. On 4/14 they turned up at 5:00 PM. They took a quick look around and said they'd get me a quote on 4/14. No quote, no call and it's now 4/19. Every time I talked with them there was some story that was lame to say the least. If in the beginning, they'd simply said that they were too busy, I would have understood and moved on. But they didn't and I've wasted nearly 3 weeks. Sorry, but there is no excuse for their behavior. Being straight forward is never a bad policy ... maybe they'll learn it sometime but I'm totally done with them and their stories. read more

We have a one-acre property with lots of lawn. Our sprinkler system had numerous issues and wasn't providing adequate coverage. I had 4 different landscape guys come here and review the problems. They each said "it's a large yard", "it's complicated", "we don't know where the lines run", etc. The first two guys came out twice and never gave me an estimate. Another guy said it would be easier to just do a new installation. Diego came out with an assistant. They spent three hours turning on individual lines and taking notes. I got a bid from Kimberly a couple of days later. The price was very reasonable. Diego and his crew came here a few days later and spent most of the day repairing sprinklers, installing new heads, etc. In the end, I got a quality job completed on time at a reasonable price. I had an similar experience with ZR Pro Landscaping as Fred H.'s review. I spoke with Kimberly over the phone, and we scheduled a date for them to come out. The day and time of the appointment comes - they're not here. I reached out to Kimberly 20 minutes after their scheduled appointment (already a red flag that they did not proactively reach out to me stating they would be late), and she told me that their PM was running late and would be there in 50 minutes. No apology for being late (another red flag). Then I get a text back 15 minutes later stating that they would not in fact be coming out, and that she had me confused with another customer, and they would reschedule. ??? I never heard back from them. It's too bad, because if they were solid and reliable, I was open to giving them a good amount of business for both my front and backyards on a recurring basis. I agree with Fred H. in that I don't like to give poor reviews to small businesses, but what I'm finding in the greater-Sacramento region these days is that this type of behavior is pretty common among landscapers, home construction services, pool service folks, etc. (i.e. no-showing, lack of communication, etc.). It's funny, because the economy has been hot the last several years and these types of companies have benefitted. But once the upcoming recession hits and people stop forking over hard earned dollars and cutting back on these types of services, companies like ZR Pro Landscape will probably wish they'd been a bit more diligent in cultivating long-time customers when times were good. read more

From 8 hours away, I had to find someone to fix the irrigation system for my recently passed Dad's house. Made a few calls, and first quote seemed waaaay too high, second call the guy said he'd be out and never did (in the middle of a summer heat wave), then third call was to ZR Pro Lawn Care. Kimberley answered her phone right away, and was very easy to get hold of. She had Diego go out, and they figured out that the water had been shut off, then located a water leak in the back. When the new owner reported that the water wasn't working in the front, ZR team found a bad connection in the timing system.
