I have been using Echeverria Brothers Electrical for many years as has my daughter and a few friends. Sometimes I cringe when I see the following requests posted on social media sites requesting a referral. "Looking for a reasonable ... insert occupation." Reasonable almost always means "cheapest." How much is reasonable? I am interested in quality especially when it comes to an occupation that might cost you your property or personal injury. High-power (115-220V) electricians definitely fall into that category. The first thing I look for is a Master Electrician certification. I grew up with a dad that was an electrical engineer/electrician with a power and light utility company (KCP&L.) He taught me a lot, but the most important was not to get in over my head. Go to a professional. They have the trained technicians, tools, test equipment, and most importantly the insurance bonding to stand behind their work. Using your neighbor just because they have a multimeter and alligator pliers is usually not the right solution. And, most Handymen are not bonded. My house is older and things are starting to break down. Over the weekend, using my own multimeter and test equipment, I knew would be in over my head and needed a professional electrician. I put out a call to Julio Escheverria, again. I told Julio it wasn't an emergency but he treated it like one and had his crew out here first thing. We upgraded our 100 amp electrical box to 200 amp, and the wiring job was so great we had to get pictures before they put the door on. AVOID this company AT ALL COST. We asked them to replace one thing and exchange out another in our home. Without consent, they did work in excess of what was requested. Then after the work was done Mr. Echeverria showed up walked in the house. This terrified my girlfriend. She asked him who he was he said he was the owner of the company. We had only been expecting Mr. Eceverrria the master electrician. We have no idea if the people that did the work are even licensed. He then leaned an gave her a hug invading her personal space. He then started to ask her personal questions which make her feel even more unsafe. When it was time to pay the bill he expected cash an refused to provide us with an itemized bill. Yelp, has once again, saved the day. But this time...I can't take credit. The boyfriend decided to take matters into his own hands and find an electrician to hang our entryway light. Our ceiling is about 20ft and renting a ladder and doing it ourselves was out of the question. Lo and behold, the Yelps found us a winner. Julio was fantastic. He did have to reschedule on us due to an emergency, but not a big deal. He let us know in plenty of time and was prompt to arrive the next day. Over four years ago, I used another electrician to fix my fire alarms from constantly going off in my home and it was obvious that that electrician did not do the job right. The alarms usually chose 4am to let me know they weren't working correctly. No, it wasn't a battery issue and I don't have to tell you how annoying it is to fight with fire alarms in the middle of the night. So, to kill the problem, I completely pulled the alarms, shut the fuse down and lived without smoke alarms for a long time. I know, not very smart!! I searched and found on Yelp, Echeverria Bros Electric. I used the "Request a Quote" link provided in their Yelp listing, and I received a text message from Julio Escheverria within about 10 minutes. We quickly made arrangements for him to come by my house to have a look at the work I was needing. He not only talked to me about the work that would be involved, but he also made some recommendations regarding some deficiencies and safety concerns he noticed by observation. You could not ask for a nicer, sincere person. Julio quoted me a price and got to work two days later. His team left no trace of a mess and the workmanship was perfect. I am completely happy with the job they did and would highly recommend them to friends or family. Not impressed with this company. We called for repairs after lightning, Hector came out the same day I called. I showed him what was not working. We agreed the issue was on one circuit. He gave me a reasonable quote ($650), we scheduled them for the next day. While I was at work, Julio and his crew came out, Julio left for another job. His workers got half of the plugs working on the circuit and tried to leave. My wife told them that the kitchen lights were still not working. They started troubleshooting, went up in the attic and noticed rodent droppings. Julio called me and reported this, said I needed to get rid of the rodents before they would come fix the lights. He charged me 1/2 of the original quote for fixing half, but stated that the new price to fix the lights was now $2800. I asked him to explain and he never gave me a reasonable explanation for the price increase for the same work. We decided to call another electrician, they came out, put a volt meter on the first plug on the circuit in question, found it was only showing 30 volts at the plug. They cut into the wall, repaired wire and the lights and plugs are now working. Oh and by the way, they charged me $400 for the repair, a huge difference from the $2800 quote from the Echeverria Brothers! read more

This is the second time Julio came to work on my house. The first time one of the bedrooms had no power and he was able to identify the problem and fix it. The second time was a tough one. Two of my front outside flood lights wouldnt come on and the breaker wouldn't stay on. Both times he was able to diagnosed the issue and explain what the problem was and how to fix it. On 6 June 2015 we had an electrical issue with our home where about half the power in the home was working and the other half was not. I checked the breaker box and the GFIC outlets thinking like most of the time that was the culprit, but that was not the case yesterday. As we always tend to do my wife and I started looking for highly rated electricians on Yelp and found Echeverria Bros Electric, I gave the number provided a call and Julio picked up right away. He asked what the issue was and where I was located, when I told him he said he was working close by and that he would swing by to take a look. Low and behold fifteen minutes later I get a knock on the door and Julio is there. He comes in, I show him the problem, he immediately went to the breaker box, and through the use of his multimeter determined we were having an issue with the transformer. He gave me the number to the local electrical provider, I offered to pay him for stopping by and troubleshooting but he wouldn't accept it. The only thing he asked was for a bottle of water and a review on Yelp, so to keep my end of the bargain I told him I would gladly do that for him and his company. Hopefully we keep the electrical issues to a minimum in my household but I can say with 100% certainty if we do need an electrician in the future Julio Echeverria will be the first guy I call. In addition to his promptness he had a great attitude as during the fifteen minutes or so he was in my home we were laughing and he seemed like he was a really good guy. I personally appreciate the fact he's a good natured guy and even though he did not actually perform any service yesterday per say he troubleshot the issue quickly and provided the solution to the problem. Julio Echeverria was hired through my Contractor to fix the electrical work from a prior contractor and have it meet code (price below is what she told me she paid him). Overall the work was done well and I love the under-cabinet lights; however, his guys were a bit brutal and damaged three of my cabinets, did poor quality caulking around the can lights in the living room and left the chandelier lights blinking every couple of seconds (this is still an issue but I do not want to call him to fix it because I cannot stand the idea of seeing him again). My biggest issue, however, was Mr. Echeverria's unprofessional behavior and violation of my personal space. For some reason, when I first met him he decided to greet me with a hug instead of a professional handshake. I found this to be very weird. Whenever he came to the house over the few weeks his employees worked at my house he wanted a hug, which made me very uncomfortable. As I needed him to finish the work at my house I put up with it. He started with his arms wrapped around my shoulders and as time went by, he progressively moved his hands down my back. The last full hug he gave me, his hands were just above my rear and he placed a light kiss on my bare shoulders. I wanted to vomit. In addition to his frisky hands, I would work out every morning and would be wearing workout gear, which is the time he would stop by and he made multiple comments about my body, so much so that I started wearing huge sweatshirts in my house until I knew he wouldn't be around. He even told me once about a dream he had of me. He would also text me with comments saying "let's see when I can stop by to say hello to you" and after me avoiding him by hiding in the back and ignoring his texts that he "was here" (at my house), I "owe him two (hugs) for tomorrow (winky face)". By about this point I started making any excuse to not see him or be touched by him. He came by once when I didn't expect him and came into the office at the back part of the house (where no work was being done) just so he could get his hug. I was uncomfortable, but again, I needed him to finish since he was the electrician registered on the permit and I still didn't have it in me to be rude to him. Luckily I had my dog with me and was able to hold her between us so he could only give me a side hug. After this incident, I pretended to be on the phone every time I saw him so he would leave me alone. On one visit he knocked on my office door three times to get his hug but I was "on the phone" so he finally left. The last time I saw him, I had come home and didn't expect him but luckily my husband was home along with the contractor and a lot of other people. I gave him a quick polite wave and ran to the back of the house to my husband and stuck to him like glue until Mr. Echeverria left. I am absolutely disgusted by his unprofessional behavior. I am a married woman, a fact that Mr. Echeverria was fully aware. Even if I wasn't married, his behavior was unprofessional and unwanted. read more

They came out and looked at my breaker boxes and told me both need to be replaced. One breaker box had power and fully working. The other breaker box had a faulty main breaker. When I told him to show me with voltmeter what is wrong and why I need to replace them. He came up with an excuse, "I need to call another technician and charge you to show you". That's when I knew ... I told him I need to get more estimates and asked him to leave. This is a GREAT family owned business. They are fast, efficient and professional. Half my electricity was blown in my house because I did not have a surge protector which also blew out the motor to my air conditioning. Informed him that Friday midday would be fine, and thus set appointment. Now, he did text me at 0700 and asked if he could ome earlier, (so, at least he earned one star for that ). I stated that I was at work , and would not be home until 11am. He then stated that that would be OK. Waited at home from 11 am until 2 pm... 2 pm, I texted him and told him not to bother coming. He did respond..with "GOT it,Thanks! " However, he did not text at 11 to state whether he was running late.. or to at least give the courtesy of stating that he would not be able to make it. Our experience with Echeverria Bro Electric was positive. I mass messaged a bunch of electricians through yelp. And got a lot of beat around the bush answers. Why I went with Echeverria Bros: Julio messaged me back quickly! Julio was clear with his answers. I wasn't going to have to pay for a trip fee, a service fee, estimate fee, diagnostic fee and whatever else the other guys throw at their customers. Oh and open on the weekend!! Very nice!! Why you should pic the Echeverria Bros: They're quick! Julio was able to get his team out the first Saturday (my preferred day) after he checked out the house. And they finished it all in one day. Julio knows what he's talking about. You can tell he's not new to this business. His prices are competitive! I had the same kind of work done 5 years ago at my first property. I got a lot of estimates because I didn't know what was a good price for this sort of issue. Back then I went with the best estimate I received. If you're looking for a great, quality electrician, look no further. We were in a total jam with regard to our brand new dryer that wouldn't work and Julio (the owner of the business) went above and beyond to help us out. I had no clue where and how to find a good electrician, so a google search brought me to: http://www.electriciansnetworks.com/. There were a couple of guys listed but Julio had the most 5 star reviews and a very friendly picture as well. After spending nearly 3 hours with the man, I owe it the DFW area to let people know that if you need a licensed electrician who won't charge you an arm and a leg and is truly trustworthy, you really need to work with Julio. Our brand new dryer was not heating up and the repair man said that it was an issue with our socket not running 240V. Within about 10 minutes Julio was able to tell us that our plug was fine and that the issue was likely the dryer's fault. At this point, he really could have left because it wasn't in his job description to fix it. However, he did a lot more testing and figured out that the dryer's cord was actually broken. Again, he could have left, but instead, he went back to the appliance store with me to get a new cord which we shockingly found was STILL malfunctioning (obviously a manufacturing defect). Again, Julio could have left, but he was more than willing and happy to go to Home Depot and buy ANOTHER cord and replace it. Not only did he do this, but true to his field of being an electrician, he was able to figure out exactly what was wrong with the broken cord. He quickly installed the new cord and lo and behold, we now have a dryer that actually dries clothes. Also important to note--Julio didn't even charge us extra for all the extra work. The price he gave us at the start was the price he stuck with--even after making two more runs to buy new cords! He also mentioned that any work that he did for us has a personal warranty from him for another year, so if anything does go wrong with something that he fixed, he'll come back and fix it free of charge. I was really worried about getting ripped off by a random electrician that I found online, but Julio is absolutely wonderful. Not only did he go above and beyond to fix our problem, but he is genuinely a friendly, trustworthy guy and I almost wish I had more electrical issues so he could come fix them. Almost :). We asked Julio to come out and check some ballasts in our fluorescent lights in our building. We also needed two wired doorbells and an Exit sign repaired. Julio sent two guys out the next day who promptly began trying to sell us $50 (each) fluorescent light bulbs. (Hello, I can buy a box of 30 for $60.) When we weren't interested in buying the $50 bulbs they told us we had 8 ballasts out. They were quoting us price gauging prices. I called Julio to find out what was going on. He renegotiated the price and then his guys left to "collect the parts" they would need. We never saw them again! And, Julio has yet to return any of my calls. Oh, and the two guys that did come out spoke only Spanish, or so we were told. They made me communicate with them through one of our people who speaks Spanish. We ended up going over the lights Echeverria Bros Electric told us needed new ballasts, and with new, fresh lightbulbs everything works fine. So, the techs lied! Not cool. Had a great experience after finding them on Yelp. We needed help installing a ceiling fan and repairing the wall switch in an upstairs bedroom They even offered to come the same day I called, but I couldn't leave work. They came out a couple days later and I was quoted an hour and $100 for the work. The guys were on time (they actually beat me to the house), finished in about 45 minutes, and it was $100 as quoted even though they had to put in a brand new wall switch I didn't already have. The owner also followed up with me later in the day to ask how it went and if the work was completed well. Thought that was a nice gesture.
