Last summer it went out. The company that installed it came out 16 times between July and November. Multiple boards replaced, new wires run as well as a new eev on the indoor coil. They even had to replace the damper between the two zones because during the initial installation, they installed the wrong damper (yes, they admitted this). There's probably more but I think I've made my point. So why am I posting this? Well, because the AC has been out again for a week. Go figure. Turns out they know nothing about the permit process or how to properly install the pole. The outlets were not attached the line wasn't installed high enough and more fails. On April 2nd we got a Red Tag that cost us $75 that they refuse to re-imburse for. The fail was their fault. We paid for this pole in 2 payments in February that to this day they dispute the 2nd payment. After several onsite visits they finally figured out how to install the pole correctly and we got a Green Tag on May 14th... 3 months later. Now they say that we owe them $1137.50 and when I spoke with the female at the office she called me a liar. If I don't get a paid in full invoice today, I will be contacting my attorney. The 4 lights in my media room could be a accessible by a foot stool, and the previous fixtures had already been removed because I recently got the room painted. All the electrician had to do was connect the wires. The contractor came during a work call and I admit I mistakingly confused the 8 on my bill for a 3. He arrive an hour early. Almost $900 to put a lighting fixture on the wall, and the technician didn't even put the crystals on the light. (2nd picture). The job was completed under an hour. It was my human error on the quote. But I still would have have been out of $80 if I declined the quote. I think this company should provide at least a starting price before the trip is made The one star is because the company wouldn't even give me the respect to call me back to discuss my bill, and deceiving business practices. I work from home and every time I turn my computer and printer on the breaker was tripping thus I didn't have electricity in my study. I have an electrician or electrical company that I use, but they were out on a large large job and it was going to take them four days to come out here. So I called cool hand electric because I can't afford to not have electricity in my office because I work from home. The technician quoted a "package service" to inspect the breaker and told me they also needed to check all the outlets in that room for chewed wires and other issues for around $1,000 total. I declined the extras and asked only for the breaker to be replaced if confirmed bad. I still paid $512 for what was, in the end, one breaker swap. While here, the same technician told me my panel was "maxed out" and recommended a full panel replacement, quoting roughly $5,400 verbally at my house. The written estimate that came through afterward was $12,672 more than double what was discussed in person. I had a licensed electrician I've used for years review the situation; he confirmed the panel does not need to be replaced and that the pricing is well above market. For context, a 200-amp panel replacement in the DFW area typically runs in the $3,500-$5,500 range from independent licensed electricians, permit and inspection included. This quote is roughly 2-3x that. The high-pressure framing, the "membership required for discounts," the 15-year GoodLeap financing pitch, and the gap between the verbal and written numbers all point to a sales-driven model rather than a service-driven one. I'd encourage anyone who gets a large recommendation from this company to get two or three independent quotes before signing anything.

I recently received a water bill that was 4x the prior month, with not add'l water usage. I called CPS and the very next day they sent Luke and Jared out to test for leaks. The guys could have jumped straight into a more expense test with the main box, but instead they were methodically, went water device by water device (ie, sinks, faucets, washing machine, each toilet to see if any of those were leaking - also finding the fittings to my toilets were original to the 1983 house (which I had them replace - for a reasonable price). The last test proved (we hope - haven't' received a bill yet) was a leaky toilet. Yet they went ahead and then tested the main controller, first the house then the irrigation system. Fortunately, no pressure change - so all was good (whew!). Best of all Luke explained all the way through what he was doing and spoke in a way I could understand what he was doing.
