Awful customer service, especially from the 'manager' with the long hair. They will not let you return items and don't ever print out receipts. The 'emailed receipts' they send never actually get sent. The variety of selection in the store is also ass, always got the same sht over and over nothing new and exciting. I recommend shopping online and not at this store, avoid it if you can. They love to rob you of your money read more

I gave this store 3 stars because my children like shopping at Zumiez. It's hip, I get it, but most of my visits have me asking a huddled group of staff for help when it should be the other way around. The customer service isn't stellar. And for the price of the clothing, they should be using the Nordstrom model of service for sure! read more

Unfortunately, this is now the only retail shop in Salem where you can actually buy skateboard gear. Since they killed off the locally owned shop in town a few years ago, skateboarders, and people who like to wear the styles Zumiez carries, have no choice but to buy their chlothes and gear from Zumiez, or make a trip to Portland. While as previously stated, this is the only option within 50ish miles, it is somewhat adequate for skateboarding supplies and a good selection of shoes, and streetwear. Pretty much everyone who would shop at a Zumiez, already knows what the store is like. This one is no different. Actually, it's got a pretty versatile selection. Enjoy. read more

Salem Center mall in Oregon has boxes that fall on top of you if you dare go into the dressing rooms to try on clothes. Also, please do not try to buy anything by disturbing the employees' conversations or music. You may opt to walk out & shop elsewhere. That's what I did. read more

Not a real skate shop. Shitty employees who have no clue what they're talking about. Had my skateboard gripped by a female who did such a shitty job I couldn't tell if she was blind or not. I would recommend going to Juan's skate shop on Center street, just opened. Not as good of selection but at least it's not this shit hole! Fuck zumiez and all its shitty employees. The employees pre-accused us of stealing the moment we walked in the store. Me and my friend Nick both had backpacks on, so it's fair for the employees to kind of keep an eye on us to make sure we aren't stuffing our bags with merchandise, but they WAY over did it. Nick overheard one of the guys say "keep an eye on them" talking about us. The female wouldn't get off my back for 1 second. She bombarded me with questions and wouldn't leave my side, I couldn't even think about what I was trying to buy because she kept asking me the SAME questions over and over, even after I answered her. My favorite was when I grabbed a stack of shirts off the shelf to look for the size I needed and she says "Need me to find a size for you?" No...I can handle it. That happened EVERY time I grabbed a stack of shirts.....she was not being courteous, she made me feel like I wasn't allowed to touch anything. I finally found a shirt I liked and slung it over my shoulder, like I do EVERY time I shop at Zumiez and it's never been a problem. The female immediately said "I'll hold that at the counter for you." Now for my friend Nick who's 23 and homeless...doesn't have a single family member that cares about him...he was dirty and has face and hand tattoos so naturally he looks sketchy, but you can't just profile someone based on their looks. He was not ACTING sketchy....he was just politely standing by me the whole time I was trying to shop because we're friends from high school that haven't seen each other in a long time, so I dragged him with me while I did my Christmas shopping so we could spend time together. Even though he wasn't doing anything except standing by me, two employees starting giving him a hard time about how to pronounce "salmon" and "gnarly"....at first they were just messing around but very quickly it turned into something not fun...they were being very obnoxious towards him. He's not stupid, him and I could both tell they were just trying to keep us as preoccupied and distracted as possible so that we wouldn't have time to sTeAL anything. He got upset and left the store, the employees still loudly heckling him as he's walking out. I followed him out to see if he was okay. He was very very upset that the employees targeted us the moment we walked in the store and assumed we were there to steal and wouldn't leave us alone, especially when we gave them no reason to think that we were there to steal, other than wearing backpacks (which we were wearing because my car has a broken window so I can't leave my stuff in it unattended). It was very upsetting and ruined our night, I left with him at that time and never bought the 2 shirts I wanted. read more
