I must say- after being in traffic for a long time- it was worth every gallon and the constant stop and go traffic. Once we arrived- the shop was open and two employees were present. Immediately we were welcomed and we began talking "skate or die" lingo. The two fellas were cool as hell and informative with educating my son. The gear purchased : We ended up buying Thunder Bushings 97, Thunder Bushings 90, Southside Slabs Hardware, Bones Big Balls Reds Bearings, Spitfire Wheels F4 Conical and Stickers! I have seen the strip mall literally evolve around surfhouse. Much respect to the owners and (developers?!?) for making sure this landmark and epic shop didn't get pushed out. Yesterday I called and a real person who knows what's what gave me the rundown on their longboard skateboard inventory. No way l was going to order online a China made knock off for this important purchase. Slid in to and found the perfect sled, USA made gravity longboard that I bought for my son as his Christmas gift. But the dude running the store "Justin" was as cool as they come. My son had brought his new deck in and we needed some grip tape trucks and wheels. Justin was totally informative with what he suggested and just a cool as can be personality wise. Within 30 minutes Justin had custom built my kids board, my son was stoked and so was I. I would recommend this shop to die hard skaters or newcomers as well. Why spend your money at a big box store with the BS they sell when you can get some top-of-the-line equipment at the local store with much better service and totally reasonable prices. As soon as we got home my kid was ripping it up...the complete board was solid and my son was smiling ear to ear and so were his friends. They were all digging it also. She will often tell you that the skate you want isn't right for your foot so she can only sell what she has in stock. She sizes the boot way too big for your foot which is dangerous for rolling an ankle and not being able to feel the ball of your foot. She also sold me USED BLADES for full price, do not waste your time here.

He took one look at my foot shape and said there were four options: one cheaper figure skate, one high end figure skate, special orders, or that hockey skates are easier to get in a wider size. Then he explained different factors that go into getting a good fit, and different things they can do to improve fit. The first skates he brought out were close to good, but needed some more space on one spot. They were able to modify them so they no longer were tight and I left after about half an hour later with skates. I'm glad I was able to find something that worked because there is a fitting fee "up to $85" if they work with you and you don't buy skates. Which is reasonable for the time and expertise, but would be disappointing.
