Food was average. Service was comical. Place was empty on a Saturday apart from 2 other diners. Had to ask for cream for my coffee three times. Server walked up and asked how everything was while we were still waiting on food. Food was average. I got the smoked salmon eggs benedit on sweet potato latkes. The sweet potato flavor overwhelmed the rest of the dish. Their homefries though were delish and well seasoned.

Came on a Sunday morning a few weeks back for brunch. The place was pretty packed. I chose the Kathy Bates benedict b/c I'm a sucker for benedicts. The eggs were perfectly ooey-gooey, and I loved the avocado and fried green tomatoes. Things got messy quickly, but in a good way! It came with a side of home fries that were seasoned with an awesome spice mix--very unique and tasty. Pleasantly surprised and would definitely come back!

A fantastic place for a chill meal - delicious Mediterranean food, casual but interesting ambiance and interesting people. We started with a mezze platter, complete with a mini-fire pit, great presentation. It consisted of grilled lamb, a myriad of savory dips and sauces (yummmm garlic and eggplant), chicken egg-roll like things, spinach dumplings, dolmas and other yummy munchies. The salmon entree was a so-so, I'd stick to the other meats, but came with crunchy haricot verts and a light yogurt sauce. They serve a decent selection of wine and beer as well. The staff was hipster cool, barkeep had an afro. Extra points for picking it out proper. Hawt. I like this place a lot, laid back not snobby or trying to hard. Overall, I'm so glad I live five minutes away. I can picture myself becoming a regular here.

I walked by Zuzu hundreds of times without noticing how cute it is inside and how amazing its food could be. Shame on me! Lol The chicken quesadilla is perfect - full of flavor and not greasy. My bf ordered the Chicken Parmesan. It was truly amazing!!!! I had the Tequila Shrimp, which was tasty too but I just couldn't keep my fork away from by bf's plate. I'm glad that I finally tried out Zuzu. Will definitely go back!

Love it! Great Mediterranean food. When it comes to Boston there is not much I know. But I went here and I'm glad I did. The way the story pans out is... my friend and I went here to a 60's dance party night. We were referred by our friend Professor Z. It was rocking, grooving and a whole lot of hip swaying. Wonderful, groovy tunes all set in a small little bar with a top notch crowd of Boston's hottest mods. I loved it, felt like I was at home. I quite possibly was. And to top it all off the bartender made a wicked mean Manhattan. she is a fan of them too so she knew what to do... maker's mark-baby! It's the only way! And then we went home and at first mornings light realized we were starving. And only Mediterranean deliciousness could satisfy this food urge. We got up and dressed for the cold that had somehow not bothered us at all the night before and struck out on the path back to the Middle East and ZuZu. Upon arrival we sat in a tiny little booth and grubbed on such scrumptiousness as hummus, pita, lamb, etc. It was a truly glorious feast after a night of hip swinging. And the service was great! I love you Middle East and ZuZu! You complete me! Photo's to follow!

Wu Wu Wu Wu!!!! Wu-tang Wednesdays!!! We haven't yet attended but they get a vote for having a cool theme... "Hut one, Hut two, Hut three -Cut, Ol'Dirty Bastard Live and uncut!" Had breakfast here three times and we have always been satisfied with the food. They have great choices, even for very picky kids. Its kid of small, but the sidewalk seating was nice for a late fall morning.

I'm really in to brunch. Particularly chicken and waffles. Zuzu has THEE best chicken in waffles I've ever tasted in the Boston area. My plan is to try as many chicken and waffles dishes as I can, but I can't get passed Zuzu's amazing dish. I've been there twice. And I can't wait until the weekend comes so I can go back. Their Chicken and Waffles topped with the Jalapeño Cheese Sauce is to DIE for! Match that with their delicious SOB mimosa, and that's all you really need in life. The staff is pretty awesome too. Last time I went I was the only customer in the restaurant and they pretty much kept me company the whole time. I'll definitely be back.

Good menu options, good non alcoholic drink options as well. Very reasonable prices. We had the Zuzu pupu platter and it was very tasty and filling for two! Next time we will definitely try the Brie mac and cheese and Zuzu burger which all sounded very good.

All street parking and we had to circle around to find a spot so plan ahead. We got a red wine and the flawless victory cocktail. I got to try a couple wines before committing to a glass. My partner loved his cocktail. Super well balanced and really unique combo of flavors. Both drinks paired well with all our food too. Zucchini pancakes (2/5) - the only miss. The pancakes were not crispy at all and ate very mushy. The carrot curry was delish but all the flavors together with the raita didn't really do it for me. White bean hummus (4/5) - amazing flavor and the little sesame ring it comes with was yummy. The texture of the hummus could have been smoother though. Sugar snaps (5/5) - perfect sweet and salty balance and really great texture from the quinoa. Good creaminess too. Octopus souvlaki (5/5) - well charred octopus and tender. The flavors were rich in flavor. Yellow split pea was a nice creamy base. Revani snack cake (5/5) - we almost didn't get dessert but glad we did! It a citrus pound cake with a pineapple glaze and a spiced macadamia crunchy topping. Served chilled. Very yummy and not too heavy. Overall very happy we tried this place. It's pricey for what you get but nice for a special occasion.

The menu changes often, which makes me wish I lived closer so I could visit regularly. We ordered quite a few dishes, and the portions were perfect for sharing. The fresh bread was an amazing start to the meal, and the sugar snap peas were a standout. Since the menu is always evolving, my recommendation is to ask your server what the chef is most excited about and order it. You really can't go wrong. This was a memorable dining experience, and I hope my next visit won't be too far away.

I had a reservation here and when I arrived there would be a short wait for inside or outside…read more(which was kind of cool that night) or immidately at the bar. Okay, for a solo adventure I chose the bar and yes, they took me to a seat there. Looking at the menu I knew it was tapas style going in but before I could really start looking at anything the bar tender said, "or, there's a chef tasting." Okay, stop there, let's just do that and add the meat and fish option. To start was the Strawberry Fattoush - Little Gems, Cucumber, Pomegranate Vinaigrette, Pita Chips, Sumac - amazing. Next was the Warm Buttered Hummus - Basturma, Tomato, Black Olive. Still doing great! Then the Fried Mussels - Hot Peppers, Turkish Almond Tarator Sauce. Can't say I have ever had those before! The Spinach Falafel - Tahini, Beet Tzatziki, Pickles was next. Though you could roll it up, eating it that way was pointless. Back to the knife and fork. After that was the Grilled Asparagus - Sorrel Aioli, Puffed Black Rice, Bergamot Honey. Probably the most familiar looking dish of the night. Then the Sultan's Delight - Tamarind Beef, Smoky Eggplant Purée, Basil. Aamazing! Still going after that was the Swordfish - Nettle Freekah, Red Pepper Tahini, Buttermilk Fried Fiddle Heads. Then finally the Turkish-Style Profiteroles - Brown Butter Crème, Sesame Caramel Cashews, Halva with something else on the side. All of this with a Shepherds Pilsner which I believe is my first brew from Palestine. Who knew that was possible? Needless to say, the meal was quite an adventure. Definitely worth it. All amazing as was the service at the bar!

Oh, Oleana! Tucked…read moreaway in Cambridge, Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean restaurant serving small plates. My partner and I managed to snag a last-minute reservation on a Tuesday night, and even at 9 p.m. the restaurant was still lively. Between the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere, it made for a great date night spot, though it was admittedly a bit dim (apologies in advance for the photo quality!) Between the two of us, we ended up ordering quite a few dishes: Whipped Feta (4/5): This was good, though I was hoping for a stronger roasted pepper flavor. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't quite stand out. Interestingly, we overheard the table next to us mention the same thing, so maybe this one's a bit hit or miss. Spinach Falafel (4/5): Another solid dish. It was bright, colorful, and fresh, though a little messy to eat. Our waiter rather bluntly told us to "just wrap it and bite," which caught us a little off guard, but it was good nonetheless. Fatteh (4.5/5): Our favorite appetizer of the night. The creamy roasted cauliflower paired so well with the crispy pita, and I especially loved the sweetness the onions brought to the dish. Sultan's Delight (5/5): As everyone else says, this is the one to order. The beef was incredibly tender and rich. In hindsight, I almost wish we'd had the potatoes from the Adana Kebab to eat alongside it because they would've been the perfect accompaniment. Vermont Quail Kebab (5/5): Tied with the Sultan's Delight as our favorite entrée. The quail was juicy, well-spiced, and surprisingly easy to eat. I'd absolutely order this again. Adana Kebab (4/5): By this point, I think we were simply getting full. The kebab itself was good, but not nearly as memorable as the other meat dishes. Ironically, the potatoes and peppers that came with it might have been my favorite part--they would've paired perfectly with the Sultan's Delight. Baked Alaska (4.5/5): Delicious. The toasted meringue paired wonderfully with the coconut ice cream, though we were a little mixed on the passionfruit caramel, which came across slightly burnt and more acidic than expected. After a while the meringue did become quite sweet, so we ended up pairing some with the Muhallebi. Dark Chocolate Muhallebi (3.5/5): Yes...we ordered two desserts. I was mostly drawn in by the kaymak ice cream, but the Muhallebi itself was almost completely unsweetened. I'm usually all for desserts that aren't overly sweet, but this one leaned more savory than I expected. We actually ended up adding some leftover meringue from the Baked Alaska to balance it out. Looking back, given both our appetites (and our wallets), I think we would've been perfectly happy just ordering the Baked Alaska. Overall, Oleana was a lovely spot for a date night. While it didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations I'd built up from all the praise, we still had a really enjoyable meal. Our main waiter was kind, and I appreciated that the dishes came out in rounds, giving us plenty of time to eat and chat. The meat dishes were definitely the highlights for us, but overall there's a lot to like here.
