He sold it to Melissa Ilgen, and I'm happy to be able to go back to a dentist in my neighborhood. And a real plus is I actually like dentist Melissa Ilgen. She bought the practice a couple of years ago, and I just started going to her about two or so months ago. She has a very caring staff from the folks in the front who deal with patients as they come in, to her hygienists and all the various assistants. They are very kind and caring people and I really appreciate that. I had to go in multiple times in order to get my night guard they made for me fixed. They couldn't seem to get it to fit properly each time, and I have another appointment next week for the same issue. That's the only issue that I've had so far. I give them a thumbs up otherwise.

I was not made aware of this until checking out, or I would not have agreed to the procedure. I did ask if the X-rays were necessary and was informed they were mandatory. My suggestion is when a new, prospective patient calls in to make an appointment, it should be made clear exactly what the cost will be and why. As far as the exam is concerned, it was perfunctory and dismissive. I had nothing that needed attention...which I could have told him, or for that matter, he could have seen from my recent X-rays. As far as Dr. Couch is concerned, I found him abrasive and unprofessional, spouting a long-winded diatribe about his political beliefs and picking a fight about it, even after I said I wasn't interested in discussing politics. I would have much preferred he concentrate on my mouth, and not his!
