Zynda's is a nestled in the quaintness of downtown Williamston. Definite curb appeal and the staff greeted us promptly upon entering. We decided on Zynda's because of our smokehouse cravings, and there was to be live music. Unfortunately, the bar side of the establishment is where the entertainment was and there are only high top tables on that side. I'm not a fan of high top tables so we missed out on the music to settle for a standard table on the restaurant side. We ordered the wings with Zynda's bbq sauce tossed on them. They were delicious and the sauce offered a slight kick of heat and plenty of flavor. The ranch, which accompanied them, seemed homemade and was also delicious. For dinner, we selected the seared tuna and the pork enchiladas (chef special). The positives: the enchilada sauce was AMAZING, the sauce for the tuna was nice as well and the tuna was seared to perfection. The negatives: the temperature of the food brought to our table was luke-warm at best. Neither accompaniments of rice would I ever eat again, there were too many issues with both sides of rice to capture. It is also probably worth noting that the enchiladas came with a corn/stewed tomato/green chili chutney/relish of sorts and that could have been eliminated from the dish. My last comment, for cocktail lovers, I ordered a extra dirty gin martini. It was shaken with sweet vermouth. And, that's all I really have to say about that. We will try Zynda's again...always twice to be sure...but it won't be anytime soon. read more

Food was delicious. Service was amazing and the atmosphere is clean and cozy and beautiful. I've ate here 2 to 3 times and I am always thoroughly impressed every time. Prices are great. Nice restaurant in a small town. Seems to be family run. The pulled pork egg rolls are the starter you shouldn't skip. The smoked corned beef brisket was good and large. My wife's pulled pork tacos weren't up to par with the rest of the meal, but we'd stop here again. read more

Beautiful remodel of the epic Red Cedar restaurant in Williamston. Choices for seating, bar vs quieter tables or booths. Food is excellent. Made a reservation on valentines day for my wife and I and are two kids 4 and 6 years old. We were sat right next to the hostess desk they we not too busy empty tables around us. Id like to rate the service but after being seated they never came back. We waited over 30 minutes other tables that came in after us were already being served. We went in search of the restaurant that used to be here; alas it had closed. Rather than go elsewhere we decided to try Zynda's. The menu looked ok, we ordered burgers, pulled pork, a pork gyro, and a cubanesque sandwich. All burgers were enjoyed and the fries were crisp, though not hot - lukewarm. As we had waited a lonnnnng time from ordering to being served - over half an hour - perhaps they had sat around for a while. Pork gyro and sandwich were ok, but my sister found the Cuban sandwich inedible - said it tasted like fish. The server was a sweet young woman but the service was very slow, our waters were never refilled, and after waiting some time to ask for the check we walked into the bar and som red customers in there told us to look in the kitchen. First time visitor, after the Spartan win over M today. Hadn't visited since it was the Red Cedar Grill back in the day. Nice atmosphere, full bar available. My bride ordered the pulled pork sandwich with the sweet barbecue sauce and I ordered the Reuben with thousand island dressing and Swiss. Both accompanied by house cole slaw and French fries. The pulled pork was some of the best we have had in a while and the corned beef was perfectly prepared. On February 17, my husband and I chose to try Zynda's for the first time. We live very busy lives and don't get out much alone. This was a real treat, or was supposed to be. I wish I could say anything about the food. When we arrived, well before dinner rush on purpose, we were seated instantly without a line. We had one table arrive just ahead of us and two just behind. Then we watched all the people who arrived at the same time and just after getting served and seated. I couldn't even get drinks. When I tried getting the hostess to find a waitress she was too busy gossiping and when they realized it had been 30 minutes no one walked over to apologize or even say anything. During this 30 minutes we politely tried to get the attention of the servers. We made eye contact and said hello. One hurried away and the other said hello. I overheard a conversation with the servers and the hostess said, oh we forgot the table there. Oops, and then nothing. One girl walked away. We got up and walked out. The hostess and a server who were standing talking didn't even try to ask if they could do anything. We don't make a huge fuss, we simply walk away quietly. However, after reading other comments, I feel like others need to know, service is not a strong suite at this establishment. I truly wish I could tell you anything about food, or even water, but I can say, the menu looked good. The place looked clean. It looked like a nice environment. We have been there twice now. Service was good, although we were early so it wasn't busy or too noisy. I agree with other reviewers that seasonings and portions/prices need adjustments. Also would like to see some vegetable options on the menu. The Caesar salad is not a traditional Caesar, so it would be good to note that on the menu. The corn chowder is a great success. The filling for the pork eggrolls appears to be the same as the pork enchiladas. Agree that the brisket portion is skimpy for the price and the seasoning is off. The ribs are great. Regarding ambiance, while the woodwork is beautifully done, it is not warm and welcoming place. The lighting is weird. And as has been mentioned before, if it is busy it is just too loud to have a conversation. The outdoor seating is a great addition. Over priced, 9 dollars for a draft beer is not a good business plan, we had two appetizers the egg rolls and the shishito peppers. The Peppers had no seasoning on them, none.. they listed the dish as blackened, being in the industry I thought they might be using a blackened seasoning.. a good idea. But it was lightly blistered and completely unseasoned. At 10 dollars for 10 shishito peppers and a GFS Teriyaki sauce we felt slighted. The egg rolls were very oily and also severely underseasoned. These are easy things to fix, I hope they have an executive chef that reads this and makes adjustments. Also, every menu, drink menu and wine menu was in bad shape and needed a reprinting or a good scrubbing. Simple to fix, I wish them well. read more

Terrible experience. We just walked out. Sat for 20 minutes before I had to hunt down a server to take care of us. We put in drinks and salads at the same time. Drinks took 15 minutes to get to us. We left after waiting 40 minutes for the salads. The server never came over to check on us after our order or to communicate the delay in our food. Will not return. The "manager" looked helpless and walked around doing nothing. At one point, a food runner dropped an entire bowl of coleslaw on the floor. It then sat there as every member of staff walked over it until we finally pointed it out as we left. Embarrassing showing by the restaurant. The sandwiches are expensive but HUGE. 1/2 sandwich was like a normal whole sandwich. Sandwich was very good. Fries were excellent. The slaw on the side was not our favorite and neither of us ate more than our first tasting bit. First time in on Friday. We sat at the bar for a few drinks and small meal. The special cocktail menu was great and the wife really liked the fresh juices they make every morning. We ended up splitting the Cubano sandwich that tasted amazing. It was a nice touch that the actually split the meal onto two separate plates. The only downside was the wine list which we didn't order from, could use a few mid to higher range bottles. Either way, we'll definitely be back! read more
