    Nachos "with ground beef"

Service was good: quick and friendly. Unfortunately, the food was awful. The French onion soup had a weird aftertaste and too many stale croutons. The nachos supposedly had ground beef but it was difficult to find. It was mostly shredded lettuce. Not worth the price. East Lansing is filled with pubs with subpar food so this place is one of many bars with terrible food.

So we decided to go to the Harrison Roadhouse before our show at the Wharton Center. It had been a couple of months since we had been here and I always like the food here. Well, as we receded we were notified that they were training people that night, which is fine, you need train staff to get your product out. So the service was pretty good maybe a little slow, the bill was a little wrong but we got it straightened out. The Harrison Roadhouse has plenty of seating with many little cubby holes here and there that are actually little private areas with a view. Always can find a seat here. They have plenty of parking, not hard to find. I would recommend this place and we will be going back again.

My wife and I stopped at this nice establishment before our neice graduation, and let me tell you I'm glad we did! Beautiful old school bar, good drinks and great food. Definitely will be back for drinks and food again. The service was fast and friendly, and plenty of tables for large groups. 10/10 would recommend. For food we got the Smokin Turkey sandwich and the Chicken Caprese sandwich.

I said at the bar and the service was very good. I had the chicken chili and was impressed. It was very good as well.

I have been here numerous times over the years. I came here after football game. The parking lot was not full but inside was packed! We were quoted 50 min for a table, it took about 20 min until we were texted then seated. They have a full service bar. This place has lots of old license plates up in the rafters and MSU memoribilia on the walls. Its a great place to take your parents or alumni for a meal. My go to here is the chicken flautas. You get 4 rolled tortillad filled with spicy chicken and topped with melted cheese. One side of the plate has refried beans, the other spanish rice. I thought the rice was overdone and mushy. My friend had half a French dip with a cup of white chicken chili. I really like their white chicken chili, highly recommended! We had excellent service!! Our waitress was Emily and she is very nice and attentive!!

Way to expensive! Small portions with ridiculous prices! And they were out of 7 beers on tap and Diet Coke.

I recently visited for dinner - I"m single and always request a two-top so I don't take away from the server turning-over tables. My most recent visit I had the pleasure of being served by Rachael. Not only was the food and drink just what I expected, but the service, friendly personality, beaming smile and her presence was great. She was running all night at 100mph, but took the time to make me feel like her only customer. Whomever hired her needs to find another dozen! Service like this is why I am, and will be a repeat customer. Food is priced fairly, drinks are substantial, the servers are very knowledgeable about wine parings and present the drinks as the professionals they are.

Not sure if it is a ploy to have you buy something or what. Service after that was amazing from Maryanne. The food description on the menu looked amazing and it look nice coming out but the flavors were a miss. The chicken potstickers were like anything I could thaw from Sam's Club. One side was browned and the other two soggy and cool. The Italian sausage and burrata flatbread tasted of nothing but pesto. We are pesto fans but not to overpower all the other possible flavors. The grilled Asian Prime Skirt steak was tough and short on flavor. There were more cold vegetables and cabbage than rice. The ginger rice was cool and not ginger like at all. Very beautiful building with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.

Lines would wrap all the way around the block at times on Thursdays. Nate and I were in town recently and decided to stop in and catch part of the Lions game. I laughed out loud when they asked for our IDs to enter - but glad to see they're enforcing this for all patrons. They have Truly on tap, which I don't see very often. With the help of the bartender we ordered a pitcher of Truly to share - their pitchers are small, and this one was full of ice. I think they're about 30 ounces or so. There are a lot of TVs and fun neon signs for all your Instagram needs. There are two areas of the bar - a main seating area with the stage and pool tables (which were converted to water pong tables) and the side room with the bar. It was pretty early on a Sunday afternoon, so it was quiet with only a handful of other people at the bar, which was nice. I'm sure The Riv is still a busy place on evenings and weekends.

There were only four of us, but we ended up at what felt like a six-person booth/table setup. It made it a little tricky to talk with everyone, but we survived. Now listen... the bread. Oh, the bread. I have been dreaming about this bread ever since I had it. And I mean that literally, I was dreaming about the bread while I was actively eating it. It was THAT good. My pasta was delicious and had a nice kick to it. I knew it was supposed to be spicy, but even after reading the reviews I was still a little surprised by the heat. Thankfully, it was the good kind of spicy where you keep going back for another bite. Overall, a really nice spot with some seriously memorable bread.

Unfortunately, our dining experience was disappointing. We weren't allowed to order from the regular happy hour menu and were limited to a much more expensive fixed menu. The calamari was good, but the featured Jazzleberry cocktail tasted weak and watered down. The prosciutto and melon appetizer was served with a large piece of half-burnt toast, the melon was hard and underripe, and the prosciutto was dry and sliced so thick it was difficult to cut or eat. I asked only for a replacement piece of toast, but our server brought an entire basket of focaccia instead. Since we hadn't ordered it, we assumed it was a courtesy replacement. We were surprised to find an $8 charge for the bread on our bill. This was at least our third disappointing experience. Toscana has a lovely atmosphere and wonderful live music, but the food quality and service have consistently fallen short. I truly hope they can improve because I'd like to enjoy dining here as much as I enjoy the entertainment.
