These burgers were surprisingly so good!! My husband went to place the order and pick it up so I didn't get to see inside. It did take a little while for him to order and get the fo They take the edges of the burger and sorta squish and toast it around the edges so it looks like saucer. We had a beef burger and a chicken one. The beef one was so juicy, cheesy, and delicious! The chicken one was a little dry but the sauce on it made up for it. Really good!! As my family continues to try Lansing restaurants for the first time- this has been one of our favorites. Good service and solid food. I would definitely recommend the fish sandwich and get it again myself and my husband really enjoyed his hot chicken sandwich (although he liked my fish sandwich more). Service was good: quick and friendly. Unfortunately, the food was awful. The French onion soup had a weird aftertaste and too many stale croutons. The nachos supposedly had ground beef but it was difficult to find. It was mostly shredded lettuce. Not worth the price. So we decided to go to the Harrison Roadhouse before our show at the Wharton Center. It had been a couple of months since we had been here and I always like the food here. Well, as we receded we were notified that they were training people that night, which is fine, you need train staff to get your product out. So the service was pretty good maybe a little slow, the bill was a little wrong but we got it straightened out. The Harrison Roadhouse has plenty of seating with many little cubby holes here and there that are actually little private areas with a view. Always can find a seat here. They have plenty of parking, not hard to find. I would recommend this place and we will be going back again. read more

My wife and I stopped at this nice establishment before our neice graduation, and let me tell you I'm glad we did! Beautiful old school bar, good drinks and great food. I'd like to give you any positive feedback about the food, but we never even got seated. It was not crowded and they couldn't find a place to seat us. We were a party of 5 and asked to be seated outside. They sat us in a spot where the umbrella was broken and when we raised it without being aware an employee ran over and caused an unnecessary scene. When they tried to move us, they wouldn't allow us just to add an extra chair to a 4 top. Then, when we agreed to move inside there were no clean tables. We opted to just leave. They weren't kind or apologetic. They caused a scene and paraded us through the restaurant. It was rude and completely unnecessary! We will never return. read more

Stopped in for some breakfast and pregame shenanigans. I wasn't so sure about the tiny breakfast bar, but it didn't disappoint. It was simple and delicious. The eggs were fluffy, bacon crispy, potatoes were covered in some sausage gravy and the French toast and sausage were a nice good addition. The game day atmosphere is always a good one with Spartan spirit and GO GREEN/GO WHITE chants. Definitely a good spot to stop in for each season. I have been here numerous times over the years. I came here after football game. The parking lot was not full but inside was packed! We were quoted 50 min for a table, it took about 20 min until we were texted then seated. They have a full service bar. This place has lots of old license plates up in the rafters and MSU memoribilia on the walls. Its a great place to take your parents or alumni for a meal. My go to here is the chicken flautas. You get 4 rolled tortillad filled with spicy chicken and topped with melted cheese. One side of the plate has refried beans, the other spanish rice. I thought the rice was overdone and mushy. My friend had half a French dip with a cup of white chicken chili. I really like their white chicken chili, highly recommended! We had excellent service!! Met here for lunch with friends. I had previously checked out the photos, other reviews, and the menu on their website. From my first look as we pulled into their private lot it appeared to be a typical pub style restaurant. We walked in and were seated quickly as it wasn't busy yet for lunch. We had been looking at a seafood restaurant but made a last minute change to Harrison Roadhouse. Since I had been thinking about A seafood I looked over the menu and found Fish & Chips that came with Coleslaw and Tartar Sauce plus I added Clam Chowder for an extra $2.99 with my entree. My wife ordered the Avocado Chicken Sandwich and chose Onion Rings from a list of sides our server recited. For drinks I had Diet Coke and my wife chose water which were soon delivered to the table. The Clam Chowder came out next and it was hot and excellent with an adequate number of clams. Then came the entrees. My wife's Sandwich was delicious and the Onion Rings were crunchy and tasty. My Fish & Chips had four decent sized pieces of hand battered Cod filets. They were hot and crisp with an impressive portion size of Chips (Fries) and Coleslaw. We ended up taking half of the Sandwich and one of the Cod filets home. On the negative side our server did not check up on us for drink refills or anything until we were essentially done eating. And she did not mention that some of the sides, including the Onion Rings, were for an additional charge. It does say that on the menu but my wife wasn't aware that her order came with a side so she just picked one from those our server mentioned. read more

Dined there on a recent trip to E. Lansing. Typical sports bar. Lots of Spartan memorabilia. Our server was Lily. She was AMAZING. Friendly. Helpful. Attentive. Our party of three had fish and chips, salmon and salad, white chicken chili and clam chowder. Everything was tasty. The salmon was cooked a little too long. The sweet chili sauce helped to balance it out. Prices were $18 for fish and chips and the salmon. I'd return, but prolly not order the salmon again. Go Green! read more

Seated us promptly and then walked by us no less that 8 times and when I said we were ready to order the waitress made a face and then said she better get the other girl. It's been a long time since I visited MSU's campus, and I was looking forward to returning to this old haunt. I was very disappointed. Now, the place was crowded, but there is no reason to have to flag down a server to order drinks. We seriously sat for 10 minutes, and the waitress still would have passed us right by if I hadn't flagged her down. That's bad management. If that hadn't been bad enough, the food was cold. You would think you'd be pretty safe ordering wings and nachos at a bar, but the tortilla chips were stale and the nachos were stone cold; cheese hardened. The wings were cold as well. Unacceptable. This meal made me sad, and I don't like to pay to feel sad. :( If they're not careful, HopCat is going to put them out of business, and I wouldn't want to see that. There is room enough for both establishments, but people deserve hot food and decent service, even at a college bar. Come on, guys, get it together. read more

We had a graduation lunch at this place, and not only was the food not good, but we found not 1, not 2, but 3 different bugs in 3 different meals and hair in multiple sandwiches. The most disgusting place we have ever eaten at would not recommend it. The manager did comp our bill, but only after the 3rd person found another bug in their lettuce. To top it off after all this happened instead of closing the restaurant to clean and make sure all food was good they kept serving everyone and threatened to call the cops if we said anything to the other customers. Great spot to hang out and grab some food and drinks before a MSU game. They have better than average bar food and a fairly extensive beer list. They also have Titos Moscow Mules on tap, which is pretty sweet. Here's an important thing to know if coming on a game night. It gets busy!!! Very busy! So come early. You will pay $20 to park in their lot BUT they give you a $20 food and beverage voucher to use inside on anything you want. This is smart because it prevents non-patrons from parking here and walking to the game and it ensures people are spending money inside. The parking lot attendants are also on top of their game and always know how many parking spots are available. A noted their food is better than most college area bars. Their white chicken chili is so good as are their burgers and wraps. Drinks are strong and cold. But the great thing about this place is that there are zero college kids! They don't come here for whatever reason and I am A-OK with that. The crowd is mostly 30 somethings and up and while is it busy, it isn't rowdy and obnoxious. read more

I'm on campus here at MSU looking to hire a graduating senior. This spot is right next to my hotel and I did not want to venture far. Service was very slow. They have a sign that asks you to wait to be seated but no one ever came. I grabbed a spot at the bar and the service was slow there, too. Bartender was confused about their local beers on tap. Not a good sign. I had a blonde ale which was actually quite good. The sandwich with sliced corned beef and sliced rib eye was pretty good as well. The dinner salad was old soggy. It's a bit loud if a Spartans game of any sort is on, but I've been in much louder trendy "intimate" overpriced Chicago restaurants, it's actually pretty comfortable in terms of ambiance, noise, service, and atmosphere for a sports bar. You would think for a "roadhouse" their best meal would be the sirloin. However, I asked for medium and my steak came out well done. The "seasonal vegetables" were clearly just out of a frozen bag with no seasoning and the potato skins were tough and had no flavor. You know a steak is not cooked well if you have to douse it in A1 and I didn't even finish it. The drinks were subpar as well. The service was good and the vibe was so nice! Oh, my-- the "Hard Root Beer" was excellent. I visited the road house with two kids, they both found menu items they liked and gobbled them up. I had the bacon-wrapped steak, prepared correctly. The green beans were simple, but I ate them all--sometimes here's no need to fancy something up. We sat on the patio. Service was fine, but I didn't see a smile on any server the whole time I was there. Efficiency is fine, but I'm not sure hospitality is optional. read more

I took my daughter there for dinner tonight we ordered the crab Rangoon and the sauce tasted like mold and the Rangoon's tasted like they were rotted, my daughter had ordered the shrimp scampi and it had a over power of almost a dill flavor and the noodles were all clumped together. I ordered the roadhouse dip "French dip " and fries and it had no noticeable flavor or seasoning the dipping broth was soo watered down it was like dipping in brown water. The only saving grace was the waitress was very kind and prompt. The restaurant only had 1 other table of 2 people when we came in there so there was no reason for the lack of quality for the price I paid, I would not go back and I don't recommend wasting your money or time there. read more
