If I could rate them any less than a star, I would. In fact, it was such a horrible experience that the POLICE had to get involved. Yes, I said it. The POLICE had to be contacted. We scheduled an appointment to have some items removed. The scheduled time was made for 9:30-11:30am, but in reality, Andre did not show up till 1:00pm. He did however, have the decency to call. I understand this type of job may take awhile, but what's the point in saying you're going to be somewhere, if you're not going to be there? I get that it's a service, but people don't just sit around waiting for you to show up. We had other things scheduled that needed to be cancelled because of the extended wait. After Andre finally showed up and loaded everything, we thought that we would be done with the company. Andre asked if we could give him a good review on Yelp. Although his arrival time was less than professional, he did do his job... which may have gotten him at most, 3 stars. However, while leaving my property, Andre hit and damaged my concrete wall, fence, and entrance gate to my property. It now needs to be repaired, if not completely replaced. Since the entrance gate has completely come off the hinges, we are temporarily unable to use our driveway. In fact, for us to even get on the property, we have to lift the whole entrance gate and maneuver it. My fiancé saw Andre hit the wall and stop his truck. As my fiancé approached the truck, Andre drove down the road. Again, my fiancé made his way toward Andre, but didn't get to him before he drove out of the neighborhood. He didn't even have the manners to get out of his truck to notify us or apologize. I called to resolve the issue and they told me that I should hear from them by next week (today is Thursday). Interestingly enough, the company claims to be open Monday-Friday. I told them that was unacceptable because it needs to be fixed by June 3rd as we are going out of town in 2 weeks to get married. Their customer service representative was not helpful at all. Why he would ask me if it was an accident, I don't really know. I mean, do people really back into concrete walls on purpose? I called the police to file a report as soon as I could. The company representatives gave the officer the run around after he had requested the phone number for the Honolulu office. After about five minutes, the officer got so frustrated that he finally identified himself as the police. As soon as that happened, he was forwarded to the Honolulu office and Andre was on the phone with him within ten minutes. The officer gave him the opportunity to provide his information or else a "fled the scene" report was going to be filed. Accident or not, it does not justify damaging someone's property and then leaving as if nothing happened. Possibly the worst and most disappointing part of all this is that Andre claimed to not have known that he hit my wall. As you can see in the pictures, it isn't just a small bump. The damage that was done had to have been with force as the concrete has crumbled and cracked throughout what is still standing. I have 3 pitbulls on property, so naturally I have "No Trespassing" signs. Two of the clips that hold the sign that is on my entrance gate, somehow detached and I found them in the middle of the road. Since we own pitbulls, we take the extra precaution to check the signs daily. I can assure you, no clips were missing when Andre arrived. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Had an old ridiculously large grill that needed to be hauled away. Opala bulk pickup max for a grill was 60 lbs. So I had to find someone to take away our 160 lbs. grill away. Earlier this year a friend of mine had to dispose of quite a lot of items and he decided to call 1-800-Got-Junk. The service was fast, on time and pretty much painless on our side. Remember to take care of the people who come to your house as they work they are doing is hard. Give them water and snacks if you can, especially on larger scale jobs and you'll have a good time. So why do they lose a star? 1-800-Got-Junk needs to speak with their drivers about their behind the wheel conduct. I have seen these trucks without rear hatches secured on the highway and I have been passed by them at high speeds. Some of their drivers seem not to grasp the concept of just how large their vehicles are and it gets pretty sketchy at times when they merge like they are driving a Honda Civic. Yes, they are an essential service and they do the back breaking work that no one else wants to do day in and day out but so do other companies. . .and with what I have seen on the roads myself I would hesitate before bringing them into my neighborhood. All in all 1800-Got-Junk gets a solid yes and recommendation from me despite the negative things I experienced. If you got junk and you want it removed fast and easy give them a call. Have some cold waters ready to go though, the way they work someone needs to remind them to hydrate occasionally. read more

Thomas Olsen and PJ did an amazing job. They came by and removed a old army trailer, a table and some other smaller items . The army trailer was huge must have weight 300-400 pounds. They rolled it in front of the truck and emptied the contents and then strapped on some type of crank and pulled it a little then lifted it into the truck. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I was sure they wouldn't be able to remove it and was waiting for Thomas to say we can't do it. But from the beginning Thomas never had a doubt and was supremely confident they could move it. Then after the trailer was in the truck. I asked Thomas to remove a gate that was attached to a metal pillar. I tried to use a screw driver to remove the gate couldn't even get one to budge. Thoms said he'd try and removed all six screws. Looked perfect after he was done. Couldn't have asked for anything more. They did have a little problem, making it on time to the appointment, but Thomas called me each step of the way to let me know what was happening that made me feel confident they were on their way. Called another junk removal company but they didn't have the immediate openings needed the same day. Called these guys and Keisha kindly helped set up my appointment in a jiffy. Appointment set for 4p-6p but they got held up at the dump and traffic, which was no problem for us as we could use that extra time. They called to update every step of the way of waiting in line, leaving the dump, and upon arrival. Made it extremely easy to coordinate. Thomas and James took a quick look at what we needed removed, gave us a quote, and got started with their removal process, which only took 30 minutes; 3-seater couch, recliner, tables, bed and box spring, 2 big dressers, 2 small dressers, TV and 2 stands, refrigerator AND washing machine!
