I wish I could write a good review on this company. But I can not this company is the equivalent of the traveling salesman that wants you to but it's snake oil and smile as they reunion your home. They came out and installed crappie product that failed in the first few days after there installler put it up wrong. After five years fighting with them they came out and put up new stuff which is way better but they did not have enough and told me sorry we will be back and finish the job when we get more product it just on back order. Well that was 4 months ago and they closed down the location here and ran away. I guess they would rather do half ass work then. So if a 1800 Hanson company comes to your town and tries to sell you on there name just run them out of your town they do not want to do there job that you hire them to do. This company ranks among the absolute worst I've ever dealt with. Their representative, Vernon Cornish, arrived to measure my windows for a replacement quote as requested. Instead, he wasted 30 minutes delivering an aggressive sales pitch about his product before even addressing the task at hand. After I redirected him to focus on measurements, he asked to inspect the windows from outside. He measured one window with a tape measure, moved to the next, and when I asked if he was recording the measurements, he casually admitted he wasn't, saying, "Oh, if you want me to write them down, I'll grab a pen and paper, but I can just count them for a bid." To my disbelief, he then walked around my house, visually glanced at all 30 windows without measuring a single one, and later emailed me a vague bid exceeding $100,000. The bid lacked any details about window types, material grades, or specifications. For context, this was my third contractor visit. The previous two contractors meticulously measured every window, discussed material quality and energy efficiency, and provided detailed bids ranging from $30,000 to $40,000. Gotta give it to the sales person, he was one hellva sales guy and the installers were nice. That's about it though. The "custom" windows are not custom at all. Some have trim to make then fit, some do not. The garden window did not come in the color requested and was made anyway - hoping it wasn't noticed? That had to be replaced and looked liked pretty bad after installing. It bothered my husband more than myself (probably since he will be the one fixing it) but he is detail driven so it is a problem. The one window was installed with a broken balance, hopefully someone fixes that but I've kinda lost hope in that. Overall, not worth it. read more

The "sales-y" part starts the second they answer the phone. Mentioned what I needed and immediately they said they had a promo they could lock in today. For an estimate, they can only do a video chat estimate in my area (say what?) then I scheduled it, and after that he kept insisting on getting my info including my address etc. I asked why and he said "so we know where your house is." I inexplicably immediately started receiving emails & texts - asking me to call - to set an appointment!!! 13 of them in 2 days!!! He did not want to give us any time to sleep on it. He was adamant that we sign on the dotted line before they left our house. Do you want to know why? Because the competitors can offer comparable windows as way lower prices. I worry that other people, people who aren't comfortable with confrontation, are being taken advantage of. I cannot speak to how the work will be, though I will update at the time. No - This review is about how I was treated as a woman. I am the one who was the main person handling all our quotes. ALL the other places we checked out treated me like a consumer. Hanson's refuses to meet w/ me without both home owners. No Called No Showed for the 11AM Monday appointment so they said they'd give me a $300, but I doubt it will happen. Now here is the worst of all...! The guy who came refused to even get started measuring until my husband came home. What the hell is this the '40's...? I'm just as capable of gathering a quote as any guy. Totally discriminated against. If it wasn't for my husband, who should have never had to have been there in the first place, this guy sold him on gutters. I'd have went with a RESPECTFUL company. One that values women! Updated Response: If other companies can see me as a decision maker it's sad your highly patriarchal company chooses to be the odd MAN out. Perhaps as a woman YOU can take the time to think outside the box. Update two. The $300 promised was never given... the supervisor of a different department said because the work was completed it'd have to go to another project (shameful plug for an upscale). Oh and why did I need to go to a different supervisor... because the one I needed to speak with never returned my call though I requested twice. Also when the work was done they put the worst spots and not put in where we should the Hanson teat where to place them. Took a month for salesman to come back to do finance. Windows were from another company. Took over 4 months to get windows and install. Hansen schedueled three times to install windows. This means 3 times work was taken off for windows to be installed and they were a no show. Poor management, poor customer service and high price for the wait and the product. read more

Had some new windows installed about two years ago... slowly over that time the windows cracked the drywall,leaked, warped the surrounding wall. Not a very good job installing them the first time and the second time isn't much better.. only took 1 year to get ahold of someone after contacting the better business bureau to have them contact us. Took about a month to come out and look at it and then 2 more weeks for them to Install them and the pictures speak for them self. read more

We accepted a bid on a replacement window and fascia and gutters on June 15, 2022. The window was finally installed in November. It is fine, but the casement wasn't repaired. I don't know if it just isn't part of the service, but it cosmetically looks awful. Whatever. The fascia is finally being installed on May 31, and the gutters will be installed tomorrow apparently. We were told by the salesman that the siding around the window would be replaced, but now the installers are telling me it is too broken to replace. They set and canceled multiple install appointments, even putting a dumpster in our driveway for over a week back in March. Every time we call the 800 number, we talk to someone in customer service who has no idea what is going on. We have high roofs with a steep pitch, and the crews are never prepared, so they have to reschedule. The first crew they sent out was fully prepared to replace the siding on our detached garage! Not even close to what we had ordered. We even got a call after the window was installed to pay the balance of the bill, even though the bulk of the work was still not completed. This has been almost a year of our house looking terrible, waiting for them to get their act together. Today a representative from Hanson give me a bid/sales pitch for a new roof. Why only 1 star? The price was absurd, the person was an hour late and took 2 hours to do a bid, and they were incredibly offensive and inappropriate. Price. An online roofing estimator for my size house, pitch, number of ridges/valleys provided a rough estimate of about $8,000. But Hanson gave me 4 options ranging from $25,000 to a mind blowing $54,000. The rep also didn't seem to know how their financing and monthly payments work. When we asked "how many months would we be making that payment?" their response was, "for as long as you want." Time. Why on earth would anyone take 3 hours out of their day for a single roofing bid? It takes 5 minutes to measure the roof and their silly app does all the calculations for them. I essentially waited 2 hours just watching the rep go through a terrible sales pitch. Offensive. No joke, the rep asked me what religion I affiliate with. When I said I was not the religion they assumed the rep gasped. He then made inappropriate comments about my wife while referring to our wedding picture up on our wall. TRUE RATING is a NEGATIVE 10. August 11, 2020 I signed my contract to have all of my windows replaced by 1-800-HANSONS. They came out mid October 2020 to do the install. Today is November 22, 2021 (yes, 15 months later) and the job is still not even close to being done. I have 9 windows. Yes, you read that correctly, NINE windows, and they can't seem to finish the job. I realize we have had issues with COVID-19 and getting supplies in, but, really, 15 months?????????? Three windows have NEVER been correct and one screen was made incorrectly. These windows are "guaranteed" for life. I had a stress crack happen in 1 window about 2 1/2 months after installation and they have yet to replace it. They have come out a couple of times since last October but haven't brought the correct items with them. The salesman, Shane, is a great guy and very professional. However, the product they give him to use for the sales pitch really leaves you with the impression that the windows are going to be super wonderful. WRONG!! My main reason for changing out my double pane windows and putting in triple pane was to have these "super wonderful" ones where the beating heat from the sun would not heat up my house. WRONG!! New windows have not really helped. When I complained I was given the response, "well, the heat coming in is within our parameters". Before next summer I will need to buy new window coverings since I donated my great, beautiful roll up shades to the DY thinking I would no longer need them. If you're looking for replacement windows, I do NOT recommend going with this company. It has been a horrible experience from day one. First, I sat through a sales pitch that lasted several hours. Hansons is newer to Utah so our area salesman was being trained by Evan, who was from the Michigan area offices. Evan was awful! He started a bid at close to $30,000 and then proceeded to make fake phone calls to who he says was HIS boss to see if he could find discounts. As I continued to say no, the phone calls kept going, and the bids would get lower. This went on for hours. Also during the process, he kept pushing me to FINANCE the windows. I had no intention of doing so. This seemed to displease Evan. After all was said and done, I was told that I would receive a call to have someone come out to measure the windows. This part went okay but then I received the confirmation email with the windows and their measurements listed. The listing of the windows was WRONG. After fixing that problem, I was then supposed to wait for a phone call to let me know when the windows were ready and it was time to schedule the installation. This part was very frustrating as I was dealing with a scheduler in Michigan. I played phone tag with her for a week. The appointment was finally set up for two weeks out, on a Friday. On the Monday of the week my installation is supposed to happen, I tried calling my scheduler because I have not received a call to confirm or to let me know WHO the contractor was that was coming or what time they would be to my home. It's Thursday and still no call back after leaving a message every day that week on the voicemail. You truly cannot talk to a person with this company! My installation was scheduled for Friday. It's Thursday and still no call back. Friday morning comes and no one has shown up! I start calling around trying to reach ANYONE at Hansons! I finally reach my scheduler and she tells me that she has been out of the office all week! Is there not a manager or a coworker to cover when someone is out of the office?! She begins trying to figure out what's going on. Well...NO ONE IS COMING!!! Supposedly, the contractor who was supposed to install my windows no longer works for the company! WHEN did Hansons know this and why was this not taken care of as my appointment has been on their books for WEEKS. Mind you, I have now spent hours on the phone going back and forth between Hansons representatives trying to figure this out. Hansons then begins talking about rescheduling! Absolutely not! I wanted someone to my home THAT DAY as promised. By management, I was told that this was not going to happen that they couldn't find anyone to do the job! Since I have already dealt with my scheduler, AND HER MANAGER, I wanted someone higher up. I was told that someone would call me. This was not acceptable so I said I was staying on the line until I got someone higher since it took so long to even get anyone from Hansons AT ALL on the line to begin with. Finally, I got someone. I am livid at this point! I proceed to tell this manager, I think his name was Sam, that this is unacceptable! My home is in shambles due to the preparation and that I have children and pets in the home and that it is not safe to leave my home in this condition until I can be rescheduled! He made me feel as if this situation was MY FAULT! He basically asked me how it could be so bad when I was only asked to move things away from windows. Really?! Where did he want me to put my stuff? On the lawn?! He then proceeds to tell me that my contract says that no appointment is GUARANTEED! Well, it's not like this appointment had to be rescheduled do to anything other than pure incompetence on behalf of Hansons. He then firmly stated that nobody was coming that day. I said, well what about Saturday? He said their contractors don't work on Saturdays. Just, WOW! Rescheduling was my only option. They already have thousands from me! He did tell me that he could offer me the $100 that my contract states that I could get for a "missed appointment". THIS was not a missed appointment! This was incompetence! When did they plan to tell me about this mess up?! It was already the day of the scheduled installation! I told him that $100 was not going to cut it. He then says he can double it to $200 for my frustration! HE has the power to make this right and he offers me $200? I told him that wasn't going to cut it! He then tells me he is only willing to see what he can do for me AFTER I reschedule and the windows are installed. At this point, I have no choice but to reschedule or I lose several thousand dollars! He has already told me that it won't be a 20%, or even a 10% discount, and that he won't even talk to me about it until AFTER the installation.
