Food is generally good, place is clean, and they have sushi that is surprisingly OK (I usually wouldn't trust buffet sushi). If you want kind of standard, mediocre Chinese, this is a fine place. As far as Chinese buffets go, its decent. It's typical americanized food. The selection is chicken heavy. If you're not into the crab legs, be sure to watch your bill because they will charge you for it regardless if you eat it or not. read more

This is one of those great chinese buffets where you can make your own plate of stir fry from a variety of fresh ingredients, choose a sauce to put on it and then hand it over to the chef. A few minutes later and you get back a steaming pile of delicious custom-made stir-fry. The buffet also includes a sushi bar, which is your typical sub-par buffet sushi, but you could do a lot worse. There is a lot of other fare to choose from, and you'll never be able to try it all in just one or two visits. Was a decent place to eat until our resent visit. I just sat down to eat took a couple bits and found found a hair in my food. I motioned for the waitress and she instantly blamed me! She said that it wasn't Asian hair, sorry Honey but no one at my table had curly grey hair either!!! Worst customer service I have even had. When No. 1 China Buffet opened, we were some of their first customers. Now, many years and meals later, this remains, in our opinion, the best Oriental restaurant in town. Our meals are tasty, well and consistently prepared for our enjoyment. The host and servers are always ready to please us and this is appreciated. The restaurant is clean and the servers keep the tables cleared in an appropriate manner. The dishes on the buffet bar offer good taste and variety. We have met and gotten to know many very pleasant customers who are frequent diners at the restaurant. We give this business a BIG plus and look forward to many more meals in the future. In the past I have loved this place. If I am in a hurry it is a solid quality food, good variety, and decent service (they don't say much, but they keep my glass filled and take away old plates.) Yesterday changed all that. Normally when I go I am either by myself or with another adult, yesterday I had my family. We come in and are being seated and my three year old tries to take silverware of the table next to where our "hostess" is attempting to seat us, she tells him "no your table is here" ...perfectly reasonable. Then she screams it at him as I am picking him up to place him in the booth. "YOUR TABLE IS HERE" I figure that was a little overkill but hey I have kids and I get wanting to scream at them...then she walks away cursing in Cantonese and grumbling. Hey lady, i might not speak Cantonese, but I can curse in 20+ languages and I Google translate with the best of them. But hey, I don't go to a buffet for the service, right? So we continue with our meal and for the first time ever I encounter what the other reviewers have recently said, The Sentinel of the Buffet. She stands at maybe 5'2" and is posted in front of the buffet and is staring arms crossed at my family, for me this means fun times are about to be had. I begin to walm back in forthe in front of her as I criss Cross the buffet in search of that tasty morsel and she stands still as a the terracotta warrior that she is. Silently evaluating every plate that passes beneath her gaze. Then it happens...I am at the Sushi/Mongolian BBQ table when right by the sushi I see a ROACH, a big glistening COCKROACH right by the raw food. I blink, clearing my vision assuming I imagine it and it is gone. I say nothing and return to the table not believing this could be true. Moments later my wife returns laden with once was tasty goodness with a frozen look of horror on her face, she too has encountered the roach by the raw food. Ladies and gentlemen, i am a realist, i do not expect restaurants to be pristine. I am no fool, but for gods-sakes, keep the roaches of the buffet and away from the raw food. I wish I could leave a zero. Myself and two friends ate there last evening around eight p.m. Food was mediocre as was the service. I can honestly say that it got even worse. We got the check and I went to pay 39.08 for three buffets, a water and two teas. I left a reasonable tip and we exited. We were in our car fixing to leave when a waitress from this establishment started pounding on the driver's side window. She accused us of not paying our bill very loudly several times. I had handed the man behind the register two twenties and eight cents. I had an audience listening to her carry on the entire way inside about needing to see my receipt. I walked back inside and cleared up the issue with the man at register in front of even more people. This was very poorly handled by the waitress when it it wasn't even our table she referred to as leaving without paying. After she realized she had messed up her tables she exited the lobby without even apologizing. I will NOT be dining there again. read more

Ok this place is so disappointing, I tried to give it a chance but I had one absolutely horrible experience and I will never go back. I went up to the buffet and they were refilling one of the dishes that was running a little low and they had their head under the glass that is supposed to protect anything gross from getting in to the food. Well I got back to my table pretty excited to give it a try. I got my chopsticks picked up some chicken..what did I find you ask..a long nasty hair just dangling from my chicken and chopstix. I asked to talk to the manager and when he came over I was very polite and explained the situation. He got very defensive and said it must have been my hair..well I didn't have black hair at the time I had my hair dyed blonde and second how would my hair get wrapped around my piece of chicken. At this point I was getting aggravated because he was blaming me telling me I was just trying to get a free meal. So I promptly stood up and said nicely "I am not paying for hair in my food" and I walked out. I would never recommend this place to anyone ever and I sure will never be visiting this place ever again. read more

Wish I could give this place negative stars after the treatment my family and I recieved. This was not our first time eating here and before yesterday it has been a positive experience. From the time we came in we were watched like we were in jail by this one particular lady which was extremely uncomfortable. After a little time passed my almost 2 year old son who has some developmental delays became uninterested in his plate started to push the blinds open and look out the window so I stopped him and got him reseated and started eating again, he then tried to look out the window again so I stopped him once again. Then he stood up beside me not even touching the blinds when the woman approached me shouting "Control your boy or you leave and no come back". We were running errands around town and my boyfriend has been begging for chinese, we've seen this place a few times, and finally decided to stop in for dinner. The dinner was a little more than expect, at first i was thinking $10+ really? But later we discovered they have a hibachi grill you can choose all your own foods to be cooked right in front of you, although I still think they should give you the option to have that or not, I was fine with just the buffet and didnt get around to trying it. I did notice the lunch prices were very reasonably cheap though. The servers always kept our drinks filled, it was very clean, the food was hot and there were plenty of options. I tried a few things I'd never had, and they were yummy! Great variety of foods. There were the tradition American Chinese buffet items, yet other selections as well. Lots of seafood, and a good deal of sushi items. I gave 3 stars simply do to the price, and by the time i realized it included the hibachi grill part i was already a couple plates in. read more

I was in the mood for chinese the other day and my roommate said #1 China Buffet was the best. So in we go. It was a bit pricy, but I will admit that I thought, generally, it tasted good. Fast forward a couple days, we've both been home all day sick with what is likely food poisoning. We've only been around each other this weekend, so it's not some bug we picked up from someone. And we don't share food, so the chinese is the only thing in common between us that could have made us sick. I won't be back there. read more

Best Oriental buffet I have ever had. The staff are very attentive and very friendly. I do NOT regard (as some seem to) that the cost is excessive. The food is always excellent and the variety is outstanding. There are five or six 8 foot long, double sided serving tables in addition to the sushi table and the Mongolian grill. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Lots of great sea food. Can't be beat for $10/person (evening prices). I believe it's less during the afternoon. read more

The food is good as I like Hibachi grills. The rest is relatively average, although this is the priciest Chinese buffet in town. When I went to the Hibachi, the attendant tapped the tip jar seemingly indicating that a tip wasn't optional. I put nothing in it, but when I came back he tapped it more firmly. I put in $1 but wondered why I should pay extra. Also when I was given the check while still dining the waitress came over to check and seemed surprised that I had not yet given a payment. Could it be that I was less than 1/2 way through my meal? When I did pay by credit card, and signed the receipt, the waitress came over immediately, as if not trusting that I had signed it or given the proper tip. Never in my life have I had a server stand at the table waiting to collect their tip as we settled the bill. She snatched it up as soon as we put it on the table. The food was okay but they charge you if you get sushi and don't eat it, so this is not the place to try out new types, not that there were many types to choose from anyway. read more
