What a terrible experience. There is zero communication throughout service the process. This is the second time I took my vehicle here for service and never received any communication that the service was completed. I don't have time to sit around and do nothing. I called 5x and no response. Also, they failed to perform my alignment properly or at all. The car is pulling hard to the left. Disgusted with this place and will never be back. I ordered parts via w GMC website. I was contacted throughout the entire process of when my order could be picked up at the parts counter. I was notified my order was in therefore went to the dealership to pick up my order. Upon entering the dealership, I was totally in awe of the cleanliness and courtesy of the employees. A sales person approached me asking if he could be of assistance, my response was to ask where the parts counter was. The sales person responded with "allow me to show you" as he walked me to the parts department. Now bear with me as this experience gets better. Upon entering the parts area I was greeted with a man asking how could he help me. I replied that I was there to pick up my order, gave him my information, and he said "give me a few moments". The counter person went to the back, came out with my package and also handed me a 2024 calendar and said " you have a wonderful day Mr. Alberts. I've never been so impressed with the overall appearance and the courtesy of the employees and even on a Saturday morning. I have been in the automotive business 30+ years and have never been treated that great ever. I highly recommend #1Cochran Automotive to anyone at anytime. read more

I submitted an Inquiry about a Buick they had advertised on cars.com. In the inquiry I even stated in black and white that I would take the car for the advertised price. Samantha responded without ever doing the 2nd step and viewing my comments in the inquiry. I emailed her repeatably with no answer, I take it she did forward to a sales manager named Joe. He tried calling me after several communications from me by email; hence, my preferred method of contact but that was evidently never acknowledged. I screen shotted the price on cars.com and emailed it to the dealership as Joe, in his voicemail, stated I must be looking at the wrong car. 2 days and no response, called dealership, left message twice for Joe to email me, emailed Samantha twice more telling her to forward to Joe and have him email me. Never happened. No customer service here at all ! Samantha not trained how to read all if inquiries. Joe does not meet customer expectations. read more

Spent many years with this company to the point Today my husband paid by check (fully funded)! They told us the check was no good. Took almost three hours calling their check approval peopl and my bank to get it sorted. As usual rob cochran has established and empire but very very poorly run! Came here to get a car and to trade in my old one. We settled on a car that wasn't on the lot, but they said they would be able to bring it in once it was ready. Then after we negotiated prices and etc. Things took a turn. He wouldn't do any paperwork or anything in front of me it was always he will call me and let me know. Tried to give me way below kbb on my car. Gave me every reason possible why I could not be approved for this new car. After speaking to a family friend that works in a bank and knows about this stuff, she said the things they told me were false. Honestly I think while I was waiting for this car they probably sold it or had someone lined up to buy it. While the guy seemed nice there was something shady going on. I have never had so much difficulty trying to get a car. Total waste of time. read more

Terrible. I bought a used car from them three years ago. Once the deal was done, I was persona non grata. Service is slow and inconsiderate. All the good service representatives have left. My last visit they tried to hose me for over five thousand dollars of repairs to my car that it didn't actually need. To add insult to injury, the expensive auto butler service that I bought with the car was done before my minor scheduled repair so there were grimy fingerprints all over the hood of the car. The promise to top off all your fluids is also a lie because I ran out of washer fluid the next day. I will never return to Cochran. If I need dealer repair, I'll find another GM dealer. And in a year when I'm ready to buy another car, it will definitely be elsewhere. read more

Service here is definitely NOT #1. I bought a SAAB here in 2008. At the time there were questions of ownership of SAAB due to the sale of SAAB by GM. So that was my first mistake...but the salesperson assured us that we'd have NO troubles getting parts service in the future, so we went with it. Within the first year of ownership we moved from the east end to the South Hills. We assumed we'd be able to utilize one of the several Cochran locations within 2!mikes of both our home (west liberty) or our w New jobs (Robinson). NOPE. We were told there was only ONE person certified for SAAB repairs, so for five years we've been hauling all the way out to monroeville for service, passing 3-4 Cochran dealerships in our neighborhood along the way. Each time I needed service, I would always ask if there was anyway if we could go to the service center nearby and without any apology, was always rudely told no. As if what I was asking was so outrageous. Is it that hard to certify one more guy in the south hills??? As for parts being available, there is a crack in the hinge of the passenger door that I asked to be fixed. When I took it in, I was told it was on back order and would take a few weeks. So I waited a month, heard nothing and called to follow up. The woman who answered was rude (this was typical) and said it still wasn't in yet and implied I should not call back; they would call when the part came in. That was about two years ago. Still never got that call. Recently my vehicle had a major failure. We had to have it towed to Monroeville. They told us what the problem was, said it wasn't covered by warranty, and would cost thousands. I repeatedly asked for an itemized estimate and a better explanation for why it wasn't covered under the power train warranty and was flat out ignored. Once again the part was on back order. I requested via email three times for an itemized estimate so that I could make an educated decision about whether to repair the car, take it elsewhere, or just get a new one. The dealership clearly was ignoring my requests and basically holding my car hostage for three weeks!! If they gave me the info I needed there was a chance i would take it elsewhere and they'd lose my money. (Customer service at its best). I asked if they offered a loaner from the dealer since they would have the car for so long (which I don't think is that unreasonable) and was denied if course. That would be actual customer service. Then, when my car was ready, I figured at the very least they'd wash it for me. Haha. Silly me. The moral of the story is, buyer beware. This dealership is super nice when you buy your car, but once you come back for service, it's a whole new ball game. I am in the market for a new car now, and it would be super convenient for me to go to Cochran in Robinson since I can almost walk there from work, but I feel I'd just be made a fool of again. read more

Update: I had to return for a second recall notice. I called and made an appointment for today (1/18). Last week, someone called and said I missed my appointment, saying it was the 8th. I said, "No. I scheduled it for 7:30AM on 1/18." They said okay. I then get an email saying my appointment was at 11AM on 1/18. I had to call and get that fixed because it was for 7:30AM, not 11AM. They told me it would take an hour for the recall to be fixed--I made the appointment first thing in the morning so I could make it to another appointment later in the morning. 11AM comes around and they still haven't called to tell me it was ready. They finally called at about 11:45AM after I had called and left a message. I get to the dealership and there are 5 employees behind their computers at the service center. It takes a solid 30 seconds for anyone to speak to me. Then another 30 seconds for someone to ask what they could help me with. Time after time I am disappointed with #1 Cochran. They really need to be better organized and train their employees on customer service skills. The cashier was their only saving grace--she was friendly and polite. I am never returning here. I would rather drive an extra hour to a different center to get serviced than deal with Cochran again. read more

Manager will not return my call. I am wondering why their service team refuses to do the electrical tests I have asked for 6 times. There is a mysterious drain on the battery but they will not check fuses even though I have asked several times. My car battery keeps dying and I have received 3 new batteries instead of them doing any work. I want to know why this keeps happening -- is it because I am a woman and they think I am stupid? Or are they lazy? I don't get it and my life is impacted by their incompetence. read more

Bought a used car there in 1/16. Was told the tires were in great condition among other things. Had the car back the next month for a check engine light issue. Had the car back in on 6/16. Was told the check engine light was on, for a 2nd time, bc I need new tires. I have but less then 3k in miles since buying this car. Went to pick up the car after waiting 30m for the car to be brought to me they brought me the wrong car. Wrong Male, Model and color. Will never go back there for service again. Went in to them because my engine light came on and they told me to come back at 1:00. When I came back they took my car back I waited in the waiting room by myself except for the young lady working at her desk for 2 1/2 hours till I finally went back and asked what was going on the guy said they were doing a diagnosis. A half hour later, now I been there for 3 hours they said I would have to leave my car there because the timing was off and they had to take a part some of the engine to find out why. Then they proceed to tell me that they warranty that they sold me might not cover that and it might cost me $600 just to find out why it was out of time. Now when we bought the car not more than 8 months ago we wanted the best warranty they had so if something went wrong we won't have to worry about anything. What was the point of your warranty. Here is the kicker though, When I mentioned about the wait he told me that was their process and that there was a 100 other cars back there. Now I was the only one in the waiting room, so you process doesn't include keeping the client updated after so long, not an attitude when a person brings up that they were waiting so long. Then when I asked if the warranty was good anywhere he told me if he couldn't satisfy me i could take my car somewhere else. I didn't raise my voice or anything other than letting him know i wasn't happy. Before that I talked to the wife and we were going to have the work done since the car was already there. But with the attitude that was given to me when I said something about waiting for 3 hours and asking about my warranty, that you guys sold me, might not cover it and now you basically telling me to take my car and go. I said fine i am taking my car. So BEWARE not to say anything about waiting or about your warranty. read more

We took our Buick in for oil change, a recall notice and car wash. This time we were pleased that the work was done sooner than we thought. I would recommend some chairs our benches in the service while waiting for some one to do the paperwork on your car. It's not bad if no one is busy but sometimes it could take time and the people have to wait. I saw a lot of older people while I was there and it would be a help to them also. read more

I have always gone here for my repairs and service until today. I had tires installed by #1 Cochran and my right front was leaking so i wanted to get it looked at. They come back and say all four valve stems are bad and was going to charge me $170 dollars. I went somewhere else to get them check and all but the right front valve stem was bad. They other place charged me $20 dollars. Very disappointed with #1 cochran. read more

DO NOT get your car serviced at Cochran Monroeville. All of the good service advisors and mechanics have left. The place is now run by misfits that do shoddy work and damage your car while it is in for service. I made NINE trips to their service dept this summer. All I wanted was for them to repair my air conditioner and return my car in the same condition it was in when I dropped it off for service. I guess I was expecting too much. Don't go to Robinson for service either. The woman service manager is loud, sarcastic and condescending. She embarrasses everyone in the waiting room. read more

Terrible service they damaged the rear console while replacing the front console. They said the rear console was damaged when I brought the car in. That is complete false. If the rear console was damage they would have told me about., They never mention the rear console was damaged and they could not have missed seeing the damage because they had to remove the seats to service my car. They also soiled the carpet and returned my car back in terrible condition. Now they do want to be responsible for cleaning and replacing the damaged rear console. They are not trustworthy and I would NEVER EVER have my car serviced there again. read more

Sadly I have to recount my previous reviews. Arrived to pick up my wife's car (2016 Acadia). I was told I only have one more free oil change left and I only had two total when the salesman who leased us our Acadia said we had two years of free services. When I arrived it was clear that the cashier didn't have my keys and after waiting for several moments and watched as several people frantically searched, they found them somewhere in the garage behind the employees only area where the cars are actually serviced. I had to shout at the employees walking away to ask where my car was. It seemed they were very unconcerned about my arrival and need to pick up my car. One of them pointed in response to my request to the side lot and said somewhere there. After walking around for several minutes I found our car in the very back of the garage. It was unwashed and dirty. I reflected on the time years ago when I went to Cochran and they would not only pull your car around for you they would also wash it. As I was driving home, I saw yet again they let a lot of the air out of the tires. I learned that dealerships do this to provide a softer ride but it destroys the tires quicker. So I pumped them back up upon getting home. Since it appears I only have one more free oil change left, I am glad to be done with Cochran. In the past year, the place has declined in service, professionalism and delivering on what they say. My wife and I have decided that once our lease is up with our current vehicle we will be going somewhere else to replace it. We have also been looking for a car for our son who has recently starting driving. Cochran is not on our list. read more

I took my 07 lacrosse in for an oil change and a steering noise. Come to find out they didn't change my oil, I was charged? The noise was still there, the explanation I got was "that's normal". I should have went to nick's automotive in penn hills. I would have gave this dealership a no star but in order to write a review, you have to mark something. I'm very disappointed with the service and experience at this dealership. Where is "Rob" when you need him? How can you advertise "number one Cochran", when your service is sub par at best. I would think twice to get your car serviced at this place, if you do, then question and double check the service you just had done. You have so many other dealership in the area or just take your vehicle to your local neighborhood shop! I definitely wouldn't recommend this dealership to anyone. I received a recall notice from Buick late Dec.2015 saying that a recall on my 1998 Buick Regal was necessary because of an oil leak that could cause an engine compartment fire.Buick also informed me that the parts to do this recall were not available then and I would be receiving another letter when parts were available.I received the second letter in Feb.2016 saying parts were available and to schedule the repairs with my local Buick dealer.This was Cochran of Monroeville.They scheduled me for repair on 4/8/16.I show up and after 15 minutes I was informed that the parts were not there.I was rescheduled for 5/23/16.I made this appointment and waited approximately 1 hour for the servicing.Well whatever they did ended up in a fire in the engine compartment on 7/30/16.Luckily I could get to a fire extinguisher before the entire car was engulfed.I contacted GM/Buick 8/1/16 and spoke to one of their representatives.They requested photographs which I e-mailed them on 8/4/16.I was also informed that it could take 20-30 days to process my claim.What do I do in the meantime?I am a senior citizen,disabled and a veteran living on social security.HELP read more

No, no, no! Whatever you do, do NOT trust that your online appointment for specific services will be read! I waited nearly four hours here, and all that was done was the changing of a headlamp! There were many other things that were to be looked at before a long road trip, but were not. To compensate, they gave a complimentary oil change. Big deal! Now I have to go somewhere else to have the real work done. Plus, they were very condescending and unprofessional. read more

Shawn Smail was our sales rep. Shawn was pleasant to talk with, knowledgable about the car we were interested in buying, helped us do a comparison to other cars we were looking at and helped us make a solid decision on the GM Terrain we purchased. For a young man, we felt he has good work ethics and treated us respectfully and gave us the time we needed. We also had dealings with a sales rep Erik Kramer from Cochran Cadillac as the car we traded in was an older model SRX. Our original hopes were to buy another SRX, but it didn't work out , however the sales rep Erik was very diligent, honest and upfront with this process and we were pleased with his professionalism. We would have given a 5 star rating, but had some communication deficiency with regards to receiving our equity pmt that was due us from our trade in. Another issue that arose was an article of value to us that was left in the trade in vehicle. We are still in process of trying to get this issue resolved. Contrary to some other reviews on this site, the service department where we took our trade-in car was always very professional and good for their word in what needed done. Just some food for thought, getting your car serviced is like going to your doctors...you don't want to be there, you're sick of waiting around for your turn, but in the end it's just necessary to be patient and wait your turn, let the professionals do their jobs, they can please SOME of the people SOME of the time, but NOBODY can please all the people ALL THE TIME. read more

My husband sent Cochran Automotive an email requesting information about a couple of trucks he was interested in. Someone contacted him and he made an appointment, drove all the way from Belle Vernon to Monroeville after work and when he got there, he walked around for a while, not ONE salesperson greeted him. He went inside and there were salespeople standing around talking, but no one asked him if he needed help. He was so mad, he left. Too bad Cochran GMC....he was ready to buy a BRAND NEW TRUCK! no problem dropping off, but waited 30 minutes to get my loaner. and very little was said to me by anyone during the wait. other than that, James and the team did the work. then when I went to pick up, I was handed my keys to go 'fetch'' my car myself. interesting. not a big deal, but not up to the usual Cochran experience. read more

We had 2 concerns with our 2014 Acadia. Item #1 was an issue with the headlights. Specifically, I presented that I knew my front right headlight was burnt out. That about a week after that occurred, all headlights and high beams were out. I was told $53 to investigate. I reiterated that I knew the front right low beam was burnt out. I was called a few hours later and told by Ron that there was no wiring issue, and that both bulbs were burnt out. It was also explained to me that the bulbs were dual filament, and thus both the hi and low beams always go out at the same time. I was then told that the lights would take 3 HOURS to replace, and cost $175/ EACH in addition to the $53 diagnosis fee!!! Ron explained the high cost was due the fact that you have to take apart the car to get to the bulbs. He also said the $53 was required because they had to take apart the front end to ensure it was the bulbs that were out - I still can't believe that an experienced tech needed to spend money to 'diagnose' the issue, when the symptoms presented were so obvious. This repair cost is ridiculous because there is obviously no need to take apart the front TWICE, if it was already apart for the diagnosis fee, why would it need full labor to complete the repair? Furthermore, we refused the work, spent $38 at Advanced Auto, and my husband (who generally does NOT work on cars) had BOTH the lights completely replaced in 20 minutes. Item #2 was the 'Service Airbag' warning light. After another $53 diagnosis fee, I was told that it was a loose connection under the seat. The good news, according to Ron was that no parts were required, it was just a broken wire. A repair that was going to cost $189!!! So, the mechanic had done the hard part and located the problem for the first $53, it was simply a broken wire that required no parts, and it was going to cost me an additional $183!?!? We turned down this fix as well! The quote for 2 headlights, and the wiring repair was $650!!!!!!! So, we ended up paying the $110 'Diagnosis Fee' to Cochran and left, upset and feeling Cochran is out to rip people off. $38 and 20 minutes of effort took care of the headlights, and the wiring repair cost nothing for us to fix. We generally don't use Cochran for repairs because of these outrageous costs, but had decided to go to the dealership because of the complexity of the airbag. After this experience, we certainly won't make that mistake again. We will continue to use Midas (Frankstown Road in Penn Hills has AMAZING, down to earth customer service reps, who treat others as they wish to be treated). We will not be returning to #1 Cochran for any service work on our vehicles. read more

Sorry to disappoint you money is not the issue so please don't turn this around. I not once asked your service people what the tires or any of the repairs were going to cost this is a company vehicle and it needs fixed right. As far as my local mechanic he is a very good friend of mine and has taken care of me for years and I did show him the brakes before returning to your garage and being escorted out. He confirmed they didn't match and they looked like they came off a car that was 3 years old. He put the brakes on less than a year ago because i put a lot of miles on. So you people insulted my friend, me and my intelligence all for what 75.00 brake pads. As I said I'm a good paying customer and your people got caught trying to pull a fast one. Again the reason I asked for the pads is because 4 days early your expert mechanic said they were fine and when I came back for the other parts know the rotors and pads were bad. What a surprise, my local mechanic worked for 2 dealerships just like yours and the reason he opened his own place is because you tell your people how to get over on the public and also he bought 2 Hummers from you and you shafted him on service and he will not return as well.
