Dropped by for the ube latte. While it's quite pricey with oatmilk ($7+) the taste is delicious. The ube is noticeable but not overpowering. Staff are all super nice and friendly. My order came out before I knew it. Lots of people working inside, so it's a good place to work if you're more productive with body doubles. The noise level is low so I wouldn't recommend catching up with friends here (on a weekday anyway). This review is solely for the Ube latte which was absolutely delicious! It definitely had that Filipino ube flavor that I grew up with. Talk about nostalgia! And the latte was perfectly steamed and caramelized. The ube and milk flavors and textures just blended so well together. It was like a cup of calm & relaxation tickling my senses. The first few times, I started with cappuccinos and cortados to get a taste for their espresso. It's well-balanced without being too acidic or bitter. I've since moved on to their seasonal offerings, which are always a lot of fun. The mango matcha is so refreshing, and the coconut dreamsicle latte really does taste like the popsicle! the matcha latte was okay, not bad but a little chunky and wish it was less milky and more of that strong, matcha flavor. the lox bagel was pretty good though! lots of tomatoes (which not the best fan of) but a filling breakfast nonetheless with lots of cream cheese as well (which i am a fan of). definitely kind of pricier on what you get but want to try their pastries next time! I stopped by here on a weekday morning and there was a good amount of people here occupying the outdoor seating and standing in line! There is only street parking but it was free from my understanding. The shop itself is tiny and there's about 3-4 tables and most of which are in the sun. I ended up getting the Ube latte, which I was allowed to order in a half size or a full size. I ended up getting the smaller one, which came in a really cute cup and with cute art/decoration! The aesthetics were definitely on point but the drink itself was nothing special. It did not really taste like ube and had a weird flavor to it. I had high hopes for this place but this disappointed me. I stopped by here to pick up a cup of Mocha and a Chocolate croissant. The mocha tasted good but was lukewarm. Same with the croissant, it was dry and cold and this was in the morning around 9.30ish. The store itself was nice and cute and the staff was friendly but it's a coffee place at the end of the day and one would expect a hot cup of beverage rather than lukewarm and cold food. Needed a coffee fix and happened to be in the area. Been wanting to try this coffee shop for a while and I was excited to stop by. I initially wanted my usual (the drink I order everywhere I go) which is an iced sugar free vanilla latte with oat milk. They told me they don't have sweeteners, which isn't a problem. I decided to then order my next favorite which is an iced mocha with oat milk. It came out to be $7 and change, which is pretty pricey for one drink. Overall, the taste was good and creamy. There were still some granulated sugar at the bottom of the cup that did not dissolve, so I had to stir quite a few times before there was no more texture. I think I'd still go back if I was in the area but I'd probably order a hot drink instead of iced. Since they are more expensive than other comparable coffee shops around town, I'd keep that in consideration as well. read more

Unfortunately for me, I didn't think it was anything special and it tasted a lot like flavored milk to me. Affogato with Hazelnut Ice cream ($5.75): I thought the espresso was really good but there was something off about the ice cream. However, my boyfriend likes it and he's not a coffee person so Almond Croissant ($5.25): This was really good in terms of flavor and texture but I don't think it's worth the price. It wasn't warm when they gave it to me and this was at like 9:30 AM. I would rather get my pastry at Valencia Coffee in San Jose. Service: The cashier was super sweet and spent time to give me her recommendations. The drinks came out quickly so no issues with the service here! The coffee was okay. My drink was served a bit cooler than I prefer, and it was a little pricey for what it was, but it wasn't a bad latte overall. Sadly, everything else about this place made it not worth it. Parking on this part of Castro can be difficult, so give yourself enough time to find a spot or be prepared to walk a bit to get here. The only menu posted is by the cash register, so people end up taking a long time to order (the owner commented on another review that mentioned this issue and said that they couldn't find a space for a big menu--I would suggest the wall area to the left of the shelves behind the counter, or in the window facing outward next to the poster with the merch prices). There's limited seating, with a large section of the seating area being wooden benches and stools that are frankly very uncomfortable and awkward for people trying to sit with coffee and small bites (the "tables" in that section are too low to comfortably eat or drink). I would suggest adding more actual tables and chairs there instead. The music was loud and the acoustics in the shop were already not that great to begin with, causing it to be a bit hard to hear whenever they called out orders. Service was friendly but slow. It took us 30 minutes to get our two drinks on a Friday afternoon. The baristas didn't move with a sense of urgency--not to say that people shouldn't be able to chat with their coworkers during work, but in the time that we waited, they only served two other people. One order every fifteen minutes. TL;DR: I'd maybe order from here on DoorDash, but I don't think I'd go back anytime soon, especially when there are a good number of other local coffee shops in the area. read more

However, it is a bit daunting to walk into a new shop and not know what the heck is going on; where's the menu, what sizes are offered, where do I wait while my coffee is being prepared?? That's a lot to figure out before I've had caffeine. Thankfully, the cashier was patient and informative. I think they can really upsell their pastries if they would just suggest them to customers. I noticed how EVERY employee acknowledged a new customer walking in. The barista took time to make latte art for every cup, even those that were to go.. so I made sure to give eye contact when i was thanking him. Ube latte was perfection. the vibe of this store is pretty immaculate, it's right on Castro (mountain view's main downtown street), has cute plants and merch, and it's just downright cozy. That being said, I would NEVER come here to study. The seating would fit inside my closet... it's really tiny and gets really warm during the summer. Drinks are also pretty pricey (mine was 7$), but I would definitely come back for a quick pick-me-up. I came just before 9a on a Friday morning and there were four people in front of me. Despite there only being two baristas behind the counter (one was making drinks while taking orders) I still got my drink within five minutes! Now the drink : So creamy and so good! The flavor was really deep, giving the latte a roasted flavor while subtlety bringing in the cinnamon. I love finding my local ube latte shop. My partner got an iced ube latte and I got a hot ube latte (much ube, very variety). They were both delicious and had a lovely ube and coconutty flavor. I was delighted and would certainly order again. We also ordered an almond croissant but unfortunately it was really hard and we didn't enjoy it as much. Should've asked for them to heat it up first before we started opening the pastry and taking a bite. I also ordered a chia pudding which sounded good in theory (walnets and strawberry puree? yum!) but it just didn't have the right balance of sweetness I was craving (not sweet at all). Really cute coffee shop in downtown Mt View on Castro. It's slightly tucked away, about 3-4 stores down from Starbucks (towards Shoreline). The door feels hidden as it's a small-ish shop. When I got there at 10:30, all the seats were taken. Fortunately it was a nice day and my friend and I sat at the bench outside. My friend ordered the ice brewed coffee and said it was fantastic. I got the cinnamon latte special with oat milk. At first they made it with whole milk, caught their error (as they were handing it to me) and then made me a new one with oat milk. Really appreciated them saying something first and catching it and providing me a fresh cup. It tasted wonderful. I also ordered the passionfruit mochi donut as I love (love, love) mochi and never had a donut one. They also had mochi muffins (next time). It was chewy, like mochi and slightly sweet, but not cloyingly sweet. I liked the passionfruit flavor and it had nice light crunchy cocoa nibs on top. Will go back again! read more

I picked up an iced spicy chai latte from 1 Oz after a trip to the farmer's market. There were quite a few people waiting for their orders as I was in line, and it seemed like they were a little backed up. I waited a bit for my chai, but my pastries were given to me upon ordering. The iced chai was okay. I was expecting spice with 'spicy' in its name, but it was mostly sweet. Not bad though. I also had a vegan chocolate donut and ham and cheese croissant. The donut tasted just like coconut, so if you're not a fan of coconut (I'm not), you may want to veer away from the donuts. The ham and cheese croissant was excellent, and they get those, along with other baked goods, from The Midwife and Baker.
