We recently visited Gregorys Coffee at Stanford Shopping Center and were pleasantly surprised. I had never heard of this coffee chain before, but after our visit, I can definitely see why it has a loyal following. We ordered the SCCB (Salted Caramel Cold Brew) and the FOB (Fall Oat Boy). Both drinks were excellent. The cold brew was smooth, refreshing, and perfectly balanced, with just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering. Each drink had its own unique flavor profile, but both were crafted well and enjoyable from the first sip to the last. The shop itself had a welcoming atmosphere, and the service was friendly and efficient. One thing to note is that they do not offer soy milk, which was a little disappointing for us. However, that was a minor issue in an otherwise great experience. At the end of the day, great coffee is what matters most, and Gregorys delivered. Gregory's Coffee in Stanford Mall in Palo Alto, replaced one of my favorite Starbuck's locations in the Peninsula. After many visits here, I'm happy to report I'm pleased with the changeover. Their mobile app is super simple to operate and pre-order from. My go-to drink is their oat-milk based Fall Out Boy or more recently their Cherry Blossom Latte. A favorite snack of mine is their Pistachio Muffin, which is freshly baked an you can really taste the nutty pistachio. I really enjoy Gregory's Coffee! I used to go to the New York locations all the time when I lived back east. The coffee is fresh, and I appreciate the Palo Alto store layout. Today, I tried the pistachio muffin. It was a solid bakery option. It did feel a little too green, but perhaps I am not the most knowledgeable when it comes to pistachio baked goods. Gregory's Coffee is located in the former site of the Starbucks in Stanford Mall. They're a chain as well but they have a slightly different twist to their menu offerings, from the food to their drinks. Their app is super convenient to place your order as you browse the mall, and then you can pick up your treats when convenient. I have ordered their Fall Out Boy(comes with Oat milk) and their Pistachio Muffin which is unique compared to all of the other coffee shops I regularly visit. Service is good and the seating space inside is limited though. There is seating outdoors as well, and since this is the Bay Area, there is a good chance you can comfortably sit outside year round. read more

I recently stumbled on this new cafe in the Stanford Shopping Center and grabbed the Iced Fall Oat Boy, their iced latte with cinnamon, vanilla, maple syrup, and hazelnut. It was a nice refreshing drink for a hot day and I appreciated that they had water out and plenty of seating both inside and outside. I can't speak much to the coffee as the iced latte was on the sweeter side but coming on a weekday, it was pretty empty and a nice place to relax and sit for a bit to take a break from shopping. read more

I love the cool sleek concept of Gregory's. Their menu also has plenty to offer. The service has been hit or miss - first time I went they were sooo slow. But then the last 2 times it was really fast so I guess it's great they are fixing the kinks. This place replaced the old Starbucks here and I'm glad that it did, what a diverse menu of drinks! The gentlemen working here were nice and didn't rush us -- I have been here three times now and have never felt rushed or pressured to settle (some items I wanted were sold out). I was provided alternatives that satisfied my coffee cravings and the terminal to allow us to order ourselves was great. The vibe is relaxed, I can definitely see myself working from here on one of my work from home days. The nu brew is my favorite but the biscotti is following up closely -- We are allowed customizations such as adding a shot or more syrup. The nu brew is perfect the way it is! A cold brew with a slight touch of sweetness. It's strong already but I opted for an extra shot. The biscotti testarossa is definitely flavor town. The foam at the top is a big tangy but it balances the flavors out quite nicely. You can taste the almond, the hazelnut and the orange zest is different but I loved it. First timer at Gregory's, a fast growing NYC-based chain that took over Starbucks at Stanford Shopping Center. If I didn't know any better, I would have thought this was an offshoot of Joe & The Juice from the menu, vibe, and vegan pastries. Opening in April 2025, the grand opening hype seems to have tapered down and it was empty on Sunday afternoon. Gregory's Seasonal Prickly Pear Matcha ($9.70) seemed interesting so I went with it. Sorry, I gotta keep it real like the staff did.... this was vile and the worst matcha drink I've had to date. We each took a sip, looked at each other, and cringed. It tasted like a cup of sour water and went in the trash. Poor quality, large batched matcha with no earthy grassy notes. They market "ceremonial-grade" matcha which doesn't exist. I later found out that along with prickly pear, there's lemonade and coconut water in the drink which even before tasting sounds like a bad mix. The place is really cute! And I was really hesitant to give this a poor rating because although I love the biscotti drink the service needs a bit help. I work in retail and I understand that it gets busy and the whole balancing multiple customers. I ordered my drink and let the staff know I work at the shopping center. I stood there waiting longer than anticipated. And the barista who took my order completed the coffee drink for the customer after me. Like I totally understand if they had let me know and checked in with me but they didn't. By the time I got my drink, it was cold and I was 5 minutes late to work. I was excited to see that Gregorys finally opened up at Stanford Shopping Center. Anytime a try out a new coffee shop, I always opt for an iced vanilla oat milk latte. Hubs, the smart one, goes with whatever is popular and ordered the Fall Oat Boy, a hazelnut, cinnamon, and vanilla latte. I immediately noticed that a machine was making my drink vs a hand crafted coffee from a barista. It was a slight turn off but I still had some excitement up until I received my drink. I took a sip and tried to force myself into liking my drink. I walked back in to ask the lady if she had put vanilla in my latte. She said she thinks she did and gave me more. Even my second sip didn't do anything for me. The vanilla syrup just did not taste good. Hubs, on the other hand, told me he loved his drink and was willing to switch with me. I was pretty annoyed at spending roughly $8+ on my drink to not like it. I walked to the register and someone quickly took over and replaced my drink with the Fall Oat Boy. Service was friendly yet a little slow but not a big deal as they just recently opened. The spot is spacious and clean but with little seating indoors. I got a matcha latte and my husband got an espresso, super cute shop with excellent fast customer service, loads of interesting drinks and they're flexible about ordering and maki ng them hot and cold. My matcha was excellent quality, with that clean pure grassy flavors I live for :-) And my husband's coffee strong and robust and also hits the spot with it's high end feel on the tongue. Small inside and lively with outside seating as well, can't be beat on a warm day. Prices are reasonable, it's inside the Stanford mall so parking is free though on a weekend, it's gonna take you circling and then some to snag a spot. read more

2.5 stars for the drinks and 4 stars for the pastries. Really good brownies and cinnamon rolls. Brownies were chocolatey, not too sugary, with melty chocolate ganache on top. The inside crumbles but not dry. The cinnamon roll was also not dry. Good cinnamon flavor. Like that the outer layer was not hard like other rolls. Had the London Calling whixh had earl grey tea and lavender. Strong tea but didn't have the bold earl grey flavor. I could taste the lavender. Also tried the iced Cherry Blossom Matcha. Same thing as London Calling, mild flavor. Could taste the matcha but not the cherry blossom flavor. Much milder than other matchas I've had. Their Cookies and cream drink was good, with half a cookie blended into it. Lots of vegan options on the food menu and the types of milk for the drinks. read more

This Gregorys replaced the Starbucks that was here. I liked the decaf mocha that I got! I didn't adjust the sweetness or anything at all and I thought the flavor was pretty good. Some coffee places drown their mocha with way too much syrup but I thought this default level was fine. The place seemed really busy (it was a holiday granted). They should play music in the shop! However, we recall the NYC locations having more offerings of pastries and other foodstuffs. While the pistachio muffins looked inviting, the cinnamon rolls did not. She told me what some of the most popular coffee drinks were and what her personal favorites were, and I went with the Hall & Oats since the day was just getting started and I needed extra caffeine. I was the only one there since it was so early, but the barista made my drink super fast and he was really nice too! I really liked the coffee and would definitely get it again! Finally! I've been waiting for this coffee shop to open for months.. maybe even a year now?! This coffee shop hails from NYC so I'm excited to have an east coast style coffee shop over here in the Bay. Well the soft opening was today and well, it's as expected; new baristas with some lack of skills due to fresh out of training, average tasting coffee beverages due to the barista, pastry warmer wasn't working, shelves were still empty, barely any pastries, etc. I was told "Fall Oat Boy" was their must try and their staple drink. It honestly tastes like the cinnamon dolce latte from Starbucks but with oat milk. It's nothing too fancy or different. As a matter fact, there were other drinks on the menu that caught my eye rather. I'll have to come back for their espresso tonic and London latte. Drinks are pretty price at about $6-$7 a cup. Just a heads up though, if you work at the mall, that's an additional 10% OFF your purchase which makes some difference. Their pastries are made in-house which is a plus. I'm a huge fan of their pistachio muffin!! The crispy-crunch texture on the outside is everything!! The inside is moist as well so it has a great balance. I'd definitely buy more of these. Overall, this coffee shop is good and I'd probably rate it a 3.5 / 5 stars for now. My review will be updated again. The layout of this coffee shop was almost identical to the old Starbucks that used to be here. I'll give it some more time to marinate and make sure these baristas are more up to par on their game. My co worker and I had the same drink order but his was insanely milky and white while mine was more on that dark coffee color. It was confusing so we asked to have it remade. I asked for it heated up so maybe I waited too long to eat it? Also there was almost no bacon in it! :( The earl grey cinnamon twist was disappointing. Description said they layer earl grey and cinnamon sugar into a croissant but I didn't taste any earl grey and the texture was more sticky and doughy. Didn't resemble a croissant to me at all. It wasn't bad, just not at all what I expected when I ordered (and also way smaller than I thought). This didn't satisfy my croissant craving so I went and ordered a chocolate croissant on the app. I think they didn't see it because I waited 20 minutes and only got it when I asked them for an update. We were in the shopping center and wanted to try this spot. Ordering was easy - you could get in line or order via a kiosk. I ordered on the kiosk and food and drink were out in like 5-7min. The drink was delicious! The orange zest was light and not overpowering. The vegan deluxe was amazing! I had to remind myself it was vegan because the egg texture was exactly the same, the "cheese" was perfectly melted and the sausage tasted just like the McD's breakfast sausage. I love finding new coffee places! My friend and I saw this had finally opened and decided to try it after our yoga class at vuori. I got the Fall Oat Boy(so cleverly named) and the tuna sandwich. Both of which, were great! I especially loved the coffee :) they had so many drinks on the counter, I hadn't even realized they said my name until they called out the sandwich a few minutes later.
