In particular, we wanted to go on the 2.5 Hour boat tour and loved the beauty, history and the locals enjoying the water too! The second portion was visiting the Famous Heart Island where George C. Boldt, millionaire proprietor of the world famous Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York City, set out to build a full size rhineland castle in Alexandria Bay, on picturesque Heart Island.  The grandiose structure was to be a display of his love for his wife, Louise. The structures on the island were amazing! I personally LOVE architecture and history so this was a fantastic experience! Had it been Pre-Covid times, we would have been able to disembark from the boat and explored the island, as the Americans were doing. But because it is technically on the American side of the St Lawrence River, and because of the pandemic, we could only admire it from afar. We can't wait for warmer weather so we can go back and visit!

Roughly six years ago my mother and I had the opportunity to visit the 1000 Islands through a traveling agency. I cannot recall the company we had used to sail the 1000 Islands, but I' am carefully assuming it was Rockport Cruises. I may be completely wrong. This summer my mother and I were excited to bring the rest of my family to explore the 1000 Islands. The rest of my family members have never been to the islands. My mother and I were completely unsatisfied with the tour and how Gananoque Boat Lines website descriptions were misleading. Rockport cruises took us closer than Gananoque Boat Lines to the 1000 Islands. Gananoque Boat Lines 1 hour cruise only goes around, and not into the heart of the 1000 Islands. I would strongly advise travelers to avoid the BEAUTY OF THE ISLANDS CRUISE. Such a shame.

I was a…read morebit apprehensive as I have a tendency to get seasick but hubby explained that he talked to the tour company and they would make sure to stay in as calm waters as possible. I was still a tad leery when I got on the boat (which was a pontoon boat, as it was going to be a little more stable per the captain). I felt bad cuz I know hubby really liked the older "antique" boat but he was happy as I made it through the tour without even feeling queasy. Huge win for us both! (and probably a win for the captain as well, lol) The tour was incredible - Captain Ed knew so much history of the islands and we feel that we got a better experience than the mass public tour boat that was going around with a the loud speaker. If ever in the area again, I would not hesitate to book again with Captain Ed!

She need to make content. .... Seriously ok I moved aside and allow her to do whatever she needed to do. However it wasn't enough!!! Clearly no one was in those seats that's why ,me as an individual went over to have a better view . our tour guide pointed out everything on the left were the attractions were So here I'm enjoying my tour when this lady ...lack of better choices of words comes over and starts to say you're in my place. No honey I'm not!! I moved just to avoid confrontation being she was already rude and disrespectful!!! My guy overheard this encounter and became annoyed. She then stomped off all huffing and puffing goes to the captain . He comes over and without and conversation threatens turn the boat around and kick us out . Like dude being a responsible individual you're going to have a conversation based on both side!!! But noooo you're as racist as this blond 2ft 1" racist troll Well it was definitely a one sided encounter for sure!! It was pretty sad that I told the crew members look at the video and go from there. The fact that the captain never asked what transpired says a lot about his mannerisms also. He and his reflective piece of cheap sunglasses didn't choose to adhere to both sides of situations . Sad but true!! We were super excited and filled out all of their paperwork. We showed up for the tour and found out we were going with a bunch of other couple. We thought that's ok since we'll be in our own kayak and the form we filled out asked us about our experience etc. We thought we would be paired with other people of our level. Nope! We were wrong again. One person on the tour was a complete beginner and the entire group had to wait for them and and the other kayakers who couldn't keep up. Our guide would tell us where to paddle to and then we would wait 10-15 minutes for the rest of the group to catch up. If a company asks everyone thrr their ability, shouldn't all the groups be a similar ability so people won't be bored? I thought we were going to get a great workout but there was no workout involved in this adventure. The Positives: It was nice to see the 1000 islands, see a ship wreck and learn we could have gone onto any of the islands with a sign, since they are all public parks. Our guide was very nice and he even towed one of the group members when she couldn't paddle anymore. I thought that was really nice of him. The Negatives: There was a lot of waiting around and we didn't get to go for a swim since we spent more than half the time waiting for the rest of the group. I wish registration was more clear and I'd I knew it wasn't a private tour I would have paid more for it to be a private tour where we could have done everything we wanted.

So wrong. I ended up being late to my group kayak tour but 1000 islands and I kept in contact while I was on line. I was stressed out but they helped so much by offering me an individual kayak session instead. They were very informative on how to operate the kayak and recommended spots to visit, and also provided a laminated map. They were very friendly and made sure to refund me the difference, since I did not go on the group tour. Recommend to anyone who is traveling to the 1000 Islands!

After some research and review stalking, i llanded on Your Wave Tours. Alex was so kind and accommodating since our first call all thr way through to the end of the tour. It was an amazing experience going on a boat ride in thousand islands. You can choose from 3…read morepackages: 1-hour, or 3-hour, or 5-hour ride; each one with a different route. We thought the 3-hour trip was the most suitable one for us since it's not that short that you miss a lot of the islands and not that long to be tiring. The 5-hour boat ride will drop you off at the Boldt Castle so that you can explore the castle at your own pace. The islands are very beautiful and it's nice to pass by the cottages and mansions and learn more about some of them. The guided tour is specifically helpful as you learn more about the history as well.
