Thousand Islands Winery has always been my absolute favorite, truly some of the best wines I've ever had. I love them so much that I sent a selection to a friend in Florida for Christmas. When the package arrived in Florida, UPS made an error and sent it back to the winery. That's when Patty at Thousand Islands Winery became a true Christmas angel. She stepped in immediately, handled everything with such care, and made sure my gift was rerouted to ensure delivery. Her kindness and dedication turned a stressful situation into a wonderful experience. Thanks to Patty, Thousand Islands Winery has now made a big splash in Florida too. We made our annual stop at TIW and was their Blossom Festival. Looks like they had a good turnout despite the grey skies and cool temperatures. Long lines for a spot upstairs for tastings. I skipped the tasting and opted for a glass of wine at the downstairs bar. I went for the Rose'. They serve local brews as well. Grabbed some river rat cheese to nibble on with wine. They had a couple of bands playing outdoors. The vendors were moved back up front of the winery which I didn't spot until driving off. read more

They have an amazing wine selection--from the dry Bourbon Barrel Marquette with a smooth bourbon finish to the sweet North Country Red that tastes just like grape juice (perfect for cocktails, too). They have great apparel to buy and other brands from NY distilleries. The tasting room is cozy and welcoming, and the staff couldn't be nicer. Lisa and her team are super knowledgeable and even offer fun tours of the winery filled with history and behind-the-scenes insights. It's a great spot to spend a relaxed afternoon--whether you're a wine lover or just looking for a fun stop in the area. Definitely grab a bottle or two before you leave (or take one for the boat!). We visited this lovely winery today. We were greeted by a woman who was very close to losing it because it was very understaffed. But another woman stepped in and was in a much better mood talking about her daughter going into the Air Force. She gave us great recommendations of what to sample. All of the wines, slushies were absolutely delicious and fruity. Highly recommend the Berry Blast Slushy and the Raspberry sweet dessert wine. It's a gorgeous plot of land filled with grapes galore. You can definitely see the property and see a tour- we weren't able to because of the weather. If you like sweet and dry wines or tasting in Thousand Islands, I highly recommend this place! I came with a group of friends for a wine tasting. No reservation needed. We had a great server who was very knowledgeable about the wines as well as snacks that paired well with them. My group enjoyed all the wines, especially the wine slushy flight. Pretzels were complementary when seated. I would recommend getting a few flights and sharing it. The prices are very reasonable as this flight photographed was around $5-7USD! I would also recommend trying there pepper jellies, all very delicious and I took two jars home. read more

Very popular winery in the Thousands Islands area of New York. Took a tour of the facilities and left knowing soo much more about the wine making process. They have a fest tent on the property and hold 5 events annually which include wine tasting, food vendors and live music. They have a great assortment of wines in white and red. I've never been a fan of red wine but their Northern Red is one I can drink on a regular basis. I highly recommend taking the tour and a sampling to find the wine(s) that work for you. What a great place to go and taste wine. They probably have 30 different kinds going from super dry to dessert. If you buy wine you're tasting is pretty much free. I was able to try seven different types. Each one was delicious. Also you're able to get chocolate peanut butter bourbon so good, the ladies and gentlemen behind the bar are they know what they're talking about? They could explain everything about the wine. I visited Thousands Winery several years ago. They make some of the best wines and I have bought several bottles of wine almost monthly with Alexandra Bay Rose being one of my favorites ...not just of their wines but of ALL wines. I do have an issue in like the last year with the corks they are using. Not sure why but now when opening with cork screw...and I have tried several different kinds and sizes of cork screws....the cork literally falls apart into large dusk like pieces. This makes opening wine almost impossible and very frustrating. It is to the point that I may stop buying the wine. This makes me sad because if not for the corks I would give this winery even more than five stars read more

This was SO worth it. A group of us came here and we had the tastings of 4/6 and the slushie flight. Excellent service all round - we were described the wine origins - each grape, location etc. Our server kept us happy and fed the entire time we were there. We aren't wine connoisseurs but I'm pretty sure we were on the verge of buying an entire case or bottle at the very least. Stopped here on a whim after visiting the welcome center. When we walked inside it smelled so strongly of cleaning chemicals that I wanted to go outside pretty quick. We went out to a patio but I was disappointed to see there was no view or proximity to the lovely vines outside. The wine was OK. The man at the front was nice. read more

As they produce half bottles and 4 pack individual bottle wines, this is a good place for RVers to come for wine tastings who don't want to carry too much weight. However their wines, a nice range of dry to sweet including colder climate grapes, are all tasty. Hence, expect to drive away heavier than you came, but happily so. Brandy our tasting hostess made us feel very welcome, as did the rest of the friendly staff, even outside the tasting room/store. We loved being able to customize our (4-6-10) tasting and pick up local cheese curds while we were at it. Saint Lawrence Red was a jammy, adaptable red, and the Marquette and Merlot was very pleasant. Yes, there are hundreds of Merlots, but this was such a nice one! In all, a wonderful stop we hope to make again in the future. read more

We took a brief tour before starting our tasting but we could tell the staff really likes working here and get along. We enjoyed ourselves and bought some wine to bring home. We don't frequent this area, but if we come back I could see making a return trip. If you like wines - I would say it's well worth the effort to come in and do a tasting. read more

My friend Jess and I were adventuring out this way to camp this past week when we came across some winery signs so we took a pit stop and checked it out. It was around 11am on a Thursday when we arrived. There were 2 small groups doing a wine tasting and another group doing a beer tasting- not too busy which was good! They have FREE tastings, but we ended up doing the 10 for $5 deal which includes a complementary wine glass! SUCH A good Deal, and the wines are delicious! I loved the moscato and the Vignoles. The lady who was our guide was an absolute doll, unfortunately I forgot her name :(... Too much wine does that to ya ;) We did the beer tasting after which was $5 for 4 beers. (Talk about a buncha' lushes) :-p. Our guide was a young guy by the name of Aaron- he was super friendly and made the experience really fun- we were chattin' and laughing away. Overall we had an awesome experience here. I've been to several wineries (out west)- which seem so commercialized. The people here really made the experience awesome. As we were leaving Thousand Island Park just outside the area we came across "the worlds smallest farmer's market" as it was called by the gals running the Thousand Island's Winery stand on the side of the road in a big open field all by their lonesome. Glad we stopped. They gave us a free tasting of whatever we wanted and were very knowledgeable of the wines. We ended up buying the Spritz, the Wellesley, and the tropical wine slushee mix. All sweet wines that that tasted great start to finish. My wife also enjoyed their unique cocoa wine. read more

My husband and I recently attended a wedding for two of our dear friends at this winery during the weekend of 9/13/2019-9/14/2019. The first day we were there for the wedding rehearsal, I had the $5 tasting which included a free wine glass and 10 samples of their various wines they grow and bottle. Their Rosé was absolutely delicious and was fruity and sweet. The Cabernet was lovely and full bodied with hints of dark, rich fruits. Being born and raised in the Midwest, the cheese curds they sold was a new experience for both my husband and I and we thoroughly enjoyed this tasty treat.The two ladies that assisted us the first day were pleasant and wonderful to work with. They answered our questions and their customer service was top-notch. The 2nd day we were there, the day of the wedding, we were thoroughly insulted by one of the ladies working the wine room. My husband purchased a bottle of water and went outside to enjoy his water. It was a lovely yet blustery fall day and he was parched from running around and setting up for the wedding. I understand there were a lot of people at the winery that day as there were two weddings scheduled, so things were a bit "hectic" and there were a lot of people moving about the winery floor, but what happened next is why I am leaving such a sub-par review. When I went to make my purchase of some snacks and a drink, the lady that rung me out told me that she would "go ahead and charge me for my husband's water". I was a bit taken back since my husband is not in the practice of stealing water or anything for that matter, but since we were on a time crunch and I didn't feel like fighting over a $1 bottle of water, I told her to go ahead and ring me up for his water. When I met up with my husband outside, I asked him if he paid for his water. He assured me that he had and showed me the receipt. He of course went back inside and informed the lady that he had indeed purchased his water and why would she insultingly assume that he didn't, especially since she wasn't the one who rung him out, but another one of her colleagues who had? Again, we could care less about $1, instead it was the principle and the assumption that we would just walk off without paying for a bottle of water. We had spent almost $50 the first day we were there and had planned on spending even more money the day of the wedding, taking a case of their wine home with us to enjoy in Texas, along with some souvenirs, but because we were treated so shamefully and in such an embarrassingly manner by one of their employees, we decided to spend our money elsewhere. So yes, this place had some wonderful wines and for the most part the majority of their employees were lovely and pleasant to work with. It's just a shame that one employee had the ability to treat us so badly that it left such a bad impression on us, that we will most likely never return. read more

My wife and I went to Alex Bay for our anniversary trip this year and this was our first stop. Right off I-81 and a view of the bridge. Our "taste waitress" Jessica was the most friendly and helpful person we met the entire weekend. She gave us not only great wine suggestions but also local restaurants we may like to try. We ended up trying most of the wines and all were very good. We will definitely be back and also would recommend this nice place to anyone looking for a spot to stop and have a glass of wine and chat in any of the casual outdoor areas or have a nice conversation with the friendly staff. I loveeee coming here for wine tasting when I am in the area. We travel six hours to be with family and this is always one stop. They give generous pourings at the tasting, the gals behind the bar are nice and make good conversation. The wine is delicious. We enjoy the Niagara and I love the wine slushees they have. I got my sweatshirt poncho that I basically live in from here too! The tastings are so worth the couple of dollars spent, I wish we had a place like this back in our home state!
